  • Could this be one of the most challenging yet rewarding hikes in Australia? The Cape to Cape Track is one of Western Australia's iconic long-distance hikes.
    I was lucky enough to see seals, whales and sunsets like you have never seen before! In this 3 part series, I will show you the good, the bad and the ugly as I take you with me on my journey along the Cape to Cape Track. When I look back at the footage, I smile, but it was quite the challenge :D.
    The Cape to Cape Track goes from Cape Naturaliste lighthouse to Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse in Augusta. This scenic track will take your breath away with stunning beaches, endless ocean views and beautiful wildflowers.
    For anyone looking to do the Cape to Cape Track: Do It! It is one of the most rewarding hikes in Australia. Tough, but totally worth it!!
    Enjoy the video! :D

    What a beautiful coast! But walking in the sand is pretty hard! And Dori, your trail name, means that you do have to forget something, always... So you already did that with your phone charger... 😁 Take care and see you around! 😁 Groetjes, Kaat

    What a great Trip!! One day I will make it to Australia and I will put part of this trail on my list! I enjoyed watching this with my daughter. We are in Maryland USA so we are on the other side of the world from you . But man I’m still going to say I hope we run into you one day out in the trail. ! The blue water at the end had us mesmerized.

    I did the cape to Cape about a year ago, loved it. Great memories. Sand walking is a killer! :) Bring a hat and wear a full length shirt, it gets supprisingly hot and open to wind burn too, really exposed. Great video.

      @@DorisHikingAdventures one other question.... What are the advantages to walking N>S over S>N? and is it the more preferred direction for thru hikers? Cheers again 👍

    • @DorisHikingAdventures
      @DorisHikingAdventures  Год назад

      Omg I am so sorry! I gave you the wrong info. For some reason I thought you commented on the overland track. 🙈
      Here is correct info:
      There is a watertank at every campsite. I usually carried 3 liters on the C2C and made sure I had about 0.5 liter left at the end of the day just in case. If tanks are getting low, people usually report this in the FB groups so have a look before you go 😊
      I also filled up all my bottles in the towns (usually you can find a tap near the toilets)
      It doesn't really matter which direction, but I prefer N-S. They say the wind is usually behind you then, but it will be tough either way 😊

    Beautiful! Just wondering how you liked the tent? I just ordered mine after watching your previous review.

    • @DorisHikingAdventures
      @DorisHikingAdventures  4 года назад +1

      I love it! It performed very well in a storm and I love how spacious it feels. It doesn't look particularly big inside, but because of the headroom, it feels a lot bigger when you are actually in it :)
      Super easy to set up after a few practices :D
      Only thing is that you need a bit of a larger spot to pitch it, but honestly I could not be happier with this tent 😍
      I hope yours will arrive soon! 😃
      Did you order the 1p or 2p?

      Dori's Hiking Adventures slept in it last night. I really wanted to like it but it felt so small. My sleeping bag literally took up the entire space. I also had condensation build up on the mesh. In the tents defense it was like pea soup fog last night so everything was just wet. I’ll give it another try but I may just have to lose some weight somewhere else so I can take my big Agnes copper spur hv ul 2 with me out on the trail.

    • @DorisHikingAdventures
      @DorisHikingAdventures  4 года назад

      Oh no, sorry to hear about your experience 😔
      The width can be a bit to get used to i agree, and i would love it to be a bit wider myself. But for me it probably feels spacious because i actually manage to sit up inside, instead of having to be bent all the time 😅.
      When i leave the mesh open, it also creates a bit more freedom inside. But the first time i saw it i also thought it is a bit narrow...
      I really hope you have a better experience next time 🥺😘
