Nah, those were funny as one-off comments that appeared at random moments when Trixie felt like it. Long form impersonation on command is completely different beast - first of all, instead of feeling like it's a moment for a joke, you need to do joke on the clock; also you need to repeat that success over and over again and not make anything stale or predictable. That said, I don't think that Trixie would've had much success with most characters, unless she basically played herself, she's not a good impersonator or actress.

If she were to use that as a way to volley and make her own performance better, that’d be one thing. I think she struggles with that though.

I am not typically a Trixie apologist, but this performance genuinely wasn’t that bad. It was bad, but it wasn’t the entirely horrible car crash that people think it is. It was almost exclusively RuPaul and the edit that made it bad.
Definitely not an apologist for her either, I actually don’t even really like her anymore. But people forget how much control Rupaul and production have over the final result. I like Canada snatch games so much better because as a host, brooke lynn will still volley and play with the queens who are bombing. Doesn’t save them from being in the bottom, but it prevents it from being awkward or mean spirited. If Ru doesn’t like it, he won’t give you a chance. It doesn’t even have to be bad, he’ll make people change their characters to the dumbest stuff all the time. And then of course production is going to back that up and make changes of their own. The snatch game would have been so different if Ru was laughing at how bad Trixie was doing like she does for other people.

A producer that got fired spilled the tea on S14 Snatch game and said Willow, Camden and Bosco had Ru ROLLING but they needed to edit them poorly because it was planned from the start that they'd all do bad so they could lay the lipsync smackdown twist on them. Shook!!

My hot take on the season 16 snatch game is that Morphine actually did do worse than Nymphia. Her Jane Goodall definitely didn't land, but she was swinging big and it's sort of "so bad it's funny" retroactively. Morphine on the other hand was pretty one note and didn't really have any standout moments. Good or bad. I think being forgettable is a bigger sin to Ru than really going for it and not quite hitting.
And or Nymphia ATE the Runway (Morphine looked gorgeous per usual but not only was she wearing a pretty generic dance costume, she had 0 wins thus far). Regardless unless Nymphia pulled a Valentina I don't think she'd go home that episode.
