As an adult, I look back and realize the amount of work (almost exploitation) and the little free time these teenagers/young adults had. It’s extremely sad. I didn’t need 5 albums in 5 years, nor long world tours without rest, nor the TV shows. I just wanted them to be happy (as happy as they made me), and to have a real and lasting friendship. I’m so sorry if, as a fan, I unconsciously contributed to this dynamic that may have hurt them. I just hope they are happy wherever life takes them. Liam, rest in peace.

I was a bit too old for One Direction and besides I was a metalhead at the time, but seeing this documentary from someone who is a fan is a very wholesome experience, like a love letter to a younger self. Now since the tragedy it all becomes a bittersweet memory. Liam was my age, his life was cut way too short, and seeing him in a picture with his family brought me to tears. My heart goes out to them and everyone who love him.
