    Hi Maria! I just got some Oakcha dupes on their Black Friday sale. Madagascar Lab, their version of Myrhh and Tonka by Jo Malone, has to be one of my faves, as well as Madame Rose, the Delina dupe. I would agree that the Love Don't be Shy dupe is spot on. I got that in my first shipment. I am obsessed with this dupe house now. Definitely saves me some coins! I will have to look into the Lira dupe but may have to wait for a "birthday haul" in late January. I feel like I'm spending too much $ lately ha ha!

      I’m so glad to hear it. Oakcha has great potency and longevity. I find that many of the dupe houses smell similar but not exact. To me DUA is one of the best companies for excellent quality and creativity with their blends…I have a few dua videos if you are interested. I also really enjoy Julianna’s perfumes and be layered. Again, with all of these companies, the are “inspired “ by but not exact….that said, if you were walking by someone likely you would smell like the fragrance they are trying to dupe…when I’m personally cling them apart- it’s to be as exact as possible for review purposes. Good luck in your search!!

    This morning, I purchased the 3.7oz of Lira before you posted this. Lol. I did get it for $170.00, so I'm happy about that. I've been wearing my Le Petite Robe Noire Intense, and I can't get enough of it! You never steer me wrong, Maria! ❤️ I love you!

    Hey Maria, wonderful video as always. Recently I have counted, and I have about 260 perfumes. I am on my 2nd bottle of Intoxicated. To say that I love this fragrance is an understatement. I would definitely try Oakcha. If I can get my Intoxicated fix, without breaking the bank, I would be very very happy.

    I think what I like most about Oakcha are their huge sales they have every so often and the fact that they are only 30ml bottles. As much as I generally prefer a deal on a 100ml bottle of my most fav fragrances, I prefer these smaller bottles to play around with (especially with extra discounts on top of their low pricing). They do a good job with inspiration, and I find everything I’ve purchased generally appealing (even if it doesn’t seem to hit the mark as far as the original goes).
    If you find a good dupe of Black Phantom, would love to hear. The OG smells like burnt coffee & peanut butter to me. I’ve tried one dupe that smelled even worse. Sooooo… I decided it’s not for me, but those notes just scream otherwise. Lol

    Love a good dupe and Oakcha does make quality perfumes. It’s a nice way to know whether I want a full bottle of the real thing or not without spending much. By the way, I bought a bottle of So Sweet by Lolita Lempicka, I think you’ve reviewed it a few times, and honestly, for a $20 dollar perfume, i can’t believe how much I am in love with its cherry, raspberry lipsticky smell. That’s how my nose is interpreting the scent. It’s bringing me so much joy!! Wouldn’t have known to even buy this without your enthusiastic testimony ❤❤❤❤

    Hi Maria, thanks for the informative review! I've yet to try Oakcha, but they are definitely on my radar as a house to try in the future. I'm glad to hear that their quality and longevity are up there. And I totally understand what you mean about cardamom in a lot of fragrances. Being middle eastern, I have smelled cardamom in sweets and baked goods all my life, and I love it's spicy sweetness. But I find that almost every scent I've tried that has a cardamom note, is either too masculine leaning (if marketed as unisex), or just straight up men's cologne. Maybe cardamom is only sweet to my nose when in baked goods because it's mixed with sugar and vanilla, or honey and the like. 🤷‍♀

    • @mariacollettlife
      @mariacollettlife  Год назад +1

      Oh maybe that’s it…baked with sugar and milk and such. I love cardamom but find the same thing…it seems green and masculine a lot of times

    I just got the Libra Elixir, dupe for Love don’t be shy. I’m gonna let this sit a month. It’s very strong and masculine. Not sweet and spicy as described. I love the heavens speaks. Will see if the scent changes in Libra Elixir, but idk.

    • @mariacollettlife
      @mariacollettlife  Год назад +2

      I didn’t actually like secret duchess…it just wasn’t close enough to princess…it was okay but not close enough. The Lira dupe is again, not exact but it’s pretty good…I would say it’s got a similar vibe to princess but at that price point, it would be better to go with Lira from Fragrancebuy (30ml for $99 CND) sorry that’s not overly helpful!!

    I’m very very torn!! I’ve wanted soleil blanc for forever!! Usually Chanel 5 leau is my 200 or under spring summer scent and I’ll usually pick up the dossier soleil blanc dupe or some other coconut scent around $100. In this close to buying the real thing but idk morally I have such a hard time spending $300 plus 😢😢 did you try their soleil blanc dupe ?

    • @mariacollettlife
      @mariacollettlife  6 месяцев назад

      I haven’t tried it but my friend loves the dupe from them. To me, with fragrances like soleil Blanc I would look for a dupe over the original. You may want to check DUA as well. I suggest reading the comments on the site of each and see if there is one that seems to have reviews that say it’s super close to the original. 😀

    It's pretty interesting how dupes have become not only ubiquitous but acceptable overall. There is a general vitriol for counterfeit perfumes (hunting down authentic items and getting a 'fake' is anger inducing), yet these are basically the same thing just not putting it in the original's bottle. Is it that people are ok with it when the fake house is saying "ya it's fake" and not getting tricked by the counterfeit? I didn't expect these to become so well accepted, it will be interesting to see what the original creators of these fragrances do to try and curb these fake houses ripping off their IP and selling volumes of fragrance for cheap, thus devaluing their own brands. Honestly surprised there haven't been attempts to do that by brands yet.

    • @mariacollettlife
      @mariacollettlife  Год назад +2

      The issue is there is no copyright or protection around fragrance formulas. Really, in fashion we see knock offs or “inspired by” type fashion everywhere. No name if you will. For me it’s shady when a company doesn’t acknowledge that it’s “inspired “ there are many brands that do this. For instance Navitus. It’s very obvious that Absolutio has a similar base to BR540 and Venom of Love has the TF Lost cherry accord but there is no acknowledgment whatsoever…what is worse, the dupe house or the big name brand doing their “take” without giving credit to the original creator? It’s a very interesting subject for sure!! Thanks for your thoughts. 💕
