Fantastic video, despite the weather, what beautiful footage of Russell and the heritage WHR train on its original route after 70 years. So it's 100 years since the original WHR was opened and 25 years since the "new" WHR was started between Dina's and Caernarfon, some big anniversaries to celebrate.

What a wonderful, evocative coverage of Russell's very first heritage era run up to Dinas. Somehow, the weather seemed appropriate, just added atmosphere to the occasion.
Though I was a little puzzled by the caption "The first time that Russell has been here for 70 years". That would have been 1952. I thought that the WHR track was lifted in 1941?

Yes - I'm sure it must be more like 85 years not 70 years as Russel was requisitioned for 'war work' in 1941 and the dismantling of the line also started then. I think Russell last ran on the old WHR in 1937.
