    From a basketball fans perspective, I believed that when he started calling himself Superman & being put in Shaq's shadow, the fall started. Because Shaq started calling him out for his game and lack of improvement. Then, when he left Orlando like Shaq did and went to the Lakers, it made him look worse. At that point, Kobe called him out, and he couldn't back it up because he was still recovering from back injury. It's unfortunate!

    • @tornadotom2390
      @tornadotom2390 11 месяцев назад +1

      I've been saying this for years exclamation mark Dwight Howard is an amazing defensive player and a mediocre offensive player. In my opinion he should have ended up being a much better scorer in his career than he ended up being but because he did nothing offensively outside of playing for Orlando and was more than willing to give up the position of the number one guy he ended up just being one of the best rebounders and shot blockers the league has seen. Other than that, he couldn't shoot, couldn't handle the ball, couldn't pass and didn't have a high basketball IQ. His willingness to make an ass out of himself immediately after losing games or Series in the playoffs in a joking manner would throw off any teammate. There's a time and a place for those things and it's not at work directly after you lost something that supposed to matter to you

    • @mattc5647

      Dwight Howard got more out of his god given talent than Shaq. Dwight was good offensively, a 3 time dpoy. He was never going to develop incredible post moves, he was way too stiff, you cant teach that out, even guys like Giannis are still stiff. but had a drop step and a hook over both shoulders. Dwight Howard didn't even get voted top 75, thats disrespectful. Back injuries when he got to LA robbed him of a lot of his athleticism, but you probably dont even know that. Just parrot the bullcraps talking points you hear and never watch games. Shaq was showing up at 400 lbs because he was lazy. He had less work ethic than Dwight. If Alonzo, Willis Reed, Daven Cowens, Unseld and Rodman are in top 75 so is Dwight. Dont care that he was weird and goofy. He brought a team to the finals just like Iverson, and everyone kisses Iversons ass for it. The only knock id give him is he was too stubborn in not running pick and roll and rim run more. But there was a point when teams were stock pilling crap bigs to "counter" Dwight. The Hawks thought of moving Horford to PF and Josh Smith to SF, and playing guys like Zaza, Jason Collins and Etan Thomas, because they were too small to deal with Dwight. Dont talk about basketball if you dont have more knowledge than, "he rebounded and defended, thats it." 🤡

    Reality is one the lakers situation ruined his reputation and secondly Dwight’s prime in Orlando wasn’t that long. He may have had 3-5 years as a top C in the league but outside of that he wasn’t dominating the league long.
    But regardless at the end of the day Dwight Howard is a hall of famer.

    I think it’s that everybody expected him to be much better considering his physicality. We expected him to dominate like Shaq and expected him to be serious regarding winning.

    Shaq is EXACTLY the same way... but his size and aggression is what made people view him differently, but I agree... D Howard is DEFINITELY disrespected because he did a great job in Orlando
