☀️Grab some hot chocolate ☕️, put your sweat pants on, relax and enjoy! Let me know in the comments what you favorite shot is and if you want more like this! Come say hi on Insta: instagram.com/pierretlambert/ ❤️
I love the photos of the passing train at around 1:38:55 and I look forward to more "streetphotography-POVs" in the future!! (Maybe include more subtitles on your thoughts about the composition and the settings you use, though!)
You picked a heckuva time. Brr. Should've done it in June. Stay out of Lawndale! That neighborhood is more violent that Honduras. If you like trains go to a little town called Rochelle. They have a double track crossing that railroad fanatics love. www.rochellerailroadpark.org/
7th Era, North Borders & Hayden Peterson do these POV photography videos quite often and they’re really fun to watch. Nice to see someone within the States doing them too!
Oh my God i just realized this is an actual 2 hour video. That’s fine though. I can literally play this when in on the streets taking pictures like i have a buddy beside me 😋
I hope you keep doing more shoots like this, not only are they helping us to see techniques and helping to remove the anxiety from people that street photography can cause, but they're also just super relaxing and fun, we get to see your process and enjoy your literal and creative perspective. Keep up the good work Pierre, would love to see a four way split screen of you and some other street photographers starting together then splitting up to cover a city in different ways then meeting back at a set point in a certain time. Or an all-day shoot seeing the city change over the course of a day (charity fund raising shoot perhaps?)
You know Pierre gets excites when he starts running towards something 😂 Love that you were raw and no non sense when you made this video. It is the actual way you do stuff on the street. Thanks for the real life example 🍻
I'm so inspired by all the shots you missed! I relate to each one 1000%. But even more awesome is when a shot missed gets you at an angle that leads to also an awesome shot.
This is the most INSPIRING street photography video I've seen. 👊🏼You KILLED it my maan! You kept us at the edge of our seat with anticipation of when you were gonna get the next shot! Great stuff, as I have your exact setup in my bag but see it in a totally new light now!! I'm about to have even more fun with my gear. Thanks a million Pierre. 👍🏼
I know I'm like 8 months late, but dear God when you put that camera over the ledge to get the train line WITHOUT a camera strap, you gave me instant anxiety 😬
This brought back some good memories of the time I spent in the Windy City, walking some of the exact same streets as you. Thank you! I just wish I could go back there with the equipment and knowledge I have now.
Oh boy, when he went on top of that parking building and held his camera over the edge without a strap attached I can't explain the amount of anxiety I got ;D
These POV videos are terrific. It's as though your on a ride-along (actually a walk-along) - an internship with a pro. I found myself trying to anticipate the next shot then comparing my selection with Pierre's composition and understanding why his was better.
this one is pricelessssss, first of all it's like playing a videogame and it's so much fun, secondly, doing a video like this is like a mini trip for me somewhere i may never go to and I love so much the fact that I got to see what the streets of Chicago look like as if I was walking them by myself.Last, ofcourse, a very intresting way to live the street photography in real time and learn so much from just a video....thank you so much for this!Hope you do more like this one in many intresting places!!
I hope to one day have the nerve and confidence to hoist my camera up and shoot a guy crossing the street like you did at 04:16. Thanks for sharing this. I could watch this all day long. I shall use it for inspiration, as I do with all your street vids.
Yeah, I would like very much to be able to walk around my city with my camera like that without the constant fear of being robbed. Really cool video by the way... I love these "behind the scene" stuff.
Hi Pierre, I want to tell you that only with *this* video you inspired me to get a camera and go shoot! Now after 1 year of doing it I started a RUclips channel about street photography! Thank you for all your work! You're just so *inspirational*
This was really helpful in showing me how other people actually perform street photography. I have a new camera, and I would like to branch out into types of photography that I haven't really done before, such as street photography. So now I am inspired and feel I can do similar things to what you showed in the video. Thanks!
Hey pierre I just have to say I'm really enjoying this vlog I'm 43 minutes into it so far and it's fantastic. The reason I say this is as your walking around I'm looking for competitions myself as if it is me walking around which I'll never get to visit there as I'm a UK resident.
Wow what a fantastic idea to show a raw street photoshoot session! I think this will give people a great insight into what it’s really like to be out taking photos, the challenges, the hardships and the triumphs! A lot of the time here on YT you only seen the best parts off a photoshoots with all the struggles edited out but I think it’s really important especially for newbies to see the whole picture.....excuse my terrible pun there 😅
For me, shooting street with a digital camera and firing away a burst of shots takes the fun out of it. I like to slow down and take my time. But that's fine, that's my style and everyone should shoot street the way they feel. I enjoy your enthusiasm and that's all that matters is having fun!
Love the street photos, just started watching you this summer and am hooked. You are the reason I started doing street photography. Thanks for the great advice and tips
Like the girl at the crosswalk (cat ears) and the rain drop. Came out well. Hate when my fingers get cold when I’m walking around. It’s the worst! Great vid. Do more please. City street sounds are calming to me. Houston is pretty fun as well. That’s where I roam the downtown streets. Cheers!
Okay now I'm really ready to get out there. San Francisco has been my neighbor my entire life and I never thought about doing this. I think I'll go out there tomorrow. Thank you so much Pierre!
Hey, thank you so much for these types of vids, I'm just starting out and have missed shots because I thought I was being to forward or creepy, i.e inside shots, restaurant etc...but you have shown me don't let anything in the way of the art...thank you
Great video man thanks for the different perspective!!! More of these kind of videos give out the way you frame each photo which I feel is your speciality. Once again thanks ♥️
Great, enjoyed this very much. He's fearless. And look, he's not looking for trouble or getting creepy at all. It takes balls to go out with a 35/55mm lens when most of us would be prefer to hide in a corner while using a zoom 😊 After 60 years on the planet there's not much that I am scared of now, but if you're a cheeky and affable snapper, most of the time you'll get away with it.
Very enjoyable. I agree with comment that it was like watching a video game. A couple of things I noticed and one question. 1. I have done similar walks in my town taking similar pictures, but not as many. 2. It didn't look like a single person minded you taking a photo other than the man with the sign that didn't want his photo and wanted money. I would have thought someone would have asked you not to take their picture. Q: What pictures were keepers for you And yes - do more of these. Maybe not 2 hours long to make it easier on you and shorter for us. :). loved it - made my treadmill walk go by fast.
I really think that was a great shoot by Madison and Wells, the one you captured the people crossing the street with the L train above, I really like darkness of the light it made for a really cool dramatic look!
I really enjoyed the "In the mind of a street photographer" vibe here. Lessons learned for sure. I would love to see some of the "NOPE" shots, I think it will remind us that you are human, not just a bad ass photographer. :) And, maybe fade in and out a bit of low-fi/street influenced beats to add to the city ambiance. P.S. Thanks for the tour of Chicago mate, always wanted to go there!
I trained for this ! I watched the extended version of Dances with wolves, after that I am ready for anything, seriously, great doco my friend ,loved the prison shot ....cheers from Daveo
Un vrais moment d'évasion 😍 merci. Je viens de commencé la photo et tes vidéos m'inspire énormément et me donne envie d'aller du côté de Chicago.. Merci

What's the lens you use in this video? Thinking about getting a Sony a7iii and mostly shoot street
I love the photos of the passing train at around 1:38:55 and I look forward to more "streetphotography-POVs" in the future!!

Keith Benton 85mm 1.8 it looks like at the beginning of the video, not got passed 5 minutes yet though lol

next, 2hrs rainy night street photography in Chicago ?
Hehe. Only thing is it's hard for the GoPro at night
Oh my God i just realized this is an actual 2 hour video. That’s fine though.
I can literally play this when in on the streets taking pictures like i have a buddy beside me 😋
Haha yes it's two real hours 😛
100% agree

Hehe thanks bro! Enjoyyyy - don't miss the night shots ;)

Such nostalgia.. took a day for myself to do this in summer around the riverwalk and wrigleyville.. one of the funnest days i've had in a long time
Easily one of my favorite style of videos. Watching the creative process unfold is the best.
I have this playing in the background while I’m doing house work. The sounds of the city are so soothing. 😊
I've been playing this on the background for over an hour now as an ASMR street sound version.
YES. Definitely do more of these. I've watched it twice now
Like the shot of the lady looking at you through the window
She's awesome!
