Rountree did much better than I expected. Respect to him. Also, Pereira's strategy worked well overall, especially with the leg kicks. The leg kicks slowed down Rountree's movement and left him vulnerable. We saw that clearly in the third and fourth rounds. That finish was brutal, too.

@@LilMilan420 which is a problem with the sport, shitty judges, why are these judges rewarding an idiot doing nothing but STALLING ON PURPOSE on a clinch for 3 rounds? these little judges and conformists like you are ruining the sport
Right, like I understand control time is a significant factor, but to go 0/10 AND really do nothing with the clenching should NOT be the way someone gets the win
Aldo absolutely should have gotten that decision, giving round 3 to Bautista is ridiculous. He did nothing but hold Aldo against the cage and what little time they had in open space, Aldo was the one doing more damage. Control time on its own isn't supposed to mean anything for scoring according to the rules and is not considered "effective grappling."
Pereira is really smart to take these high altitude fights, it always works out for him. His fight style is very measured and he doesn't use much energy. Maybe that's why Ankalaev didn't have this fight, he might have wanted something lower altitude and the UFC gave it to Khalil instead.
I hope YOU never give this channel up, whether you fight or not, its great to listen to another human speak positive words at all times, Takes a real man to this, I 'm a white belt at it!
what's your take on stalling champ? legit felt like Bautista wasn't trying to fight and just wanted to stall til the end of the rounds, think Aldo shoulda gotten the decision
If Khalil had some grappling in his gameplan. He would have gotten himself in a situation where he could catch his breath to regain some of that stamina back. That's something we can learn in boxing. To stop someone who's got pressure is to clinch to stop that pressure. Khalil had a great gameplan, but once fatigue sets in. He didn't know how to make adjustments. Even when he had Pereria frustrated, he could've changed levels. To switch it up and add another layer to his attack.

On the Aldo fight, because the ref failed to do his job and break up the fighters when Bautista stalled instead of trying to advance his position and work for a finish (*which is literally what the rules say he's supposed to do*), Bautista won the fight. That one is on the ref. Those "exchanges" need to be broken up much quicker, although the Almeida fight was a tad too quick.
Aldo and Pennington clearly won the fight. The Aldo one wasn't even close, Aldo was dictating the whole fight from the beginning and all Bautista did was trying not to get finished by holding on to him, trying to take him down.
