Ran a D8 years ago, quick travel time, good balance & great ergonomics. That thing was a joy to run. It would run circles around our D9 that was set up differently. Cat definitely listens to their customers & continues to improve their controls & design towards productivity & operator comfort.
Great video and beautifull machine, i didn't realise how small the front screen was, you would think it could have been possible to make the screen right around so you could see more easier.
I visited the minxpo show in 2004 was lucky to see a D11 at the cat evening show , was amazed at the size , we climbed all over it ,like kids, we only have a few D10,s here in the uk, wales , always love diggers all my life, Great video.
Hello Andrew . There is a caterpillar D11T bulldozer owned by stokey plant hire based in Telford Shropshire , it is currently working in a sand and gravel quarry in Staffordshire in the UK ☺️ .
@@andrewrees8749 I grew up next to a large stone quarry in Shropshire and as a young lad I used to go and watch the machines at work . I can remember back in the mid 1980s watching a caterpillar D9L bulldozer working on hire from stokey , times long gone but not forgotten .
@@matthewschofield9330 we have a huge open pit coal mine in merthyr Tydful, they have about 30 cat 777, trucks, plus smaller trucks ,4 Komatsu pc3000, 1 d10, plus a few d,9s, it's an awful eyesore ,looking over the town ,started about 12 yrs ago, 4 yrs to go , railway track is nearby that takes coal to Tata steel works, plus cement works, power station used to have 1/2 million tons of coal, but that's now closed
If you want to see what the interior cab looks like, this video is great. If you want to see what is going on in front of the tractor, you will be disappointed. The manufacturer has incorporated the use of cameras to let the operator "see" what they are actually doing. In a real world these cameras will quit working and be expensive to repair or replace. Big is not always better. That 12" blade is just too big to see around and over.
I can’t imagine needing anything larger than an 11. I’ve ran N’s, R’s and T model 10’s and 11’s. The 11 is a beast. I have a few years experience on each abd the 11 would carry as much as a 575 any day.
The D11 T has come a long way from the 11R. The cab noise in the T is so quiet vs the R. I do miss the horsepower the R had and the throttle up of a locomotive the R made with no emission controls If you've been in an 11R you'll know what I'm talking about. The next gen seems to have more automated controls then the T has.
D11 are great for digging or stockpiles. Only thing is not to blame that dozer as it only operates complaining about technology. Try not blame about it as it’s for safety reasons!!
It's almost as if it's to quiet running I need some noise old school feel while I'm running one,,simply this machine has low visibilety not meant to actually do close up work just long pushing
The view is scrap when operating a machine a good view is very important. Plus when videoing this you needed an external view also. We watching this didn't see a thing of what the machine was doing. That's worthless information other than you can't see out of this thing. Give me one of the old style machines that you can see what your doing and work rings around this fancy exspensive behemoth.
@Vladimir_Bone Spur_tRump I am not that familiar with the newer models of equipment. But like any piece of good equipment the view is important to the work efficiency. That's the big problem with the new D11 Cats some try to compensate by using cameras and view screens. But like any camera and computer screen you have no feel for distance or size. This affects one's judgement in effective movement and hold true to any equipment vehicles. Nothing can replace what your hand eye coordination can do. You react faster and more precise.
Recycle that piece junk now while it still has some "value." I choose the height, pitch and shift pattern, don't need the machine trying to think or feel for me. To each their own.
Control for Wipers behind the operator special in ripping very stupid and un comfortable vat is the problem in designing division in Cat will they locate this control in the post between left side door on their familiy car Find some old D9L ´82 an se the location of the control there Cat have never get good control for cap heater so go to Volvo for exelent control PS in Icelandic weather operators are switcing on off vipers day in day out in rainy weather so it is not good to have svitch behind you
Horrible review video. As he walks around the dozer, the camera barely shows the dozer. Zoom out or take a few steps back. You keep the cameras on the reviewer and we don’t care to see him. Then when he is operating the dozer, we had no idea what he was doing. Why not have someone outside giving us an idea of what the heck you are doing. Seeing you play with the controls silently was a waste of time.

An outside tripod view would have been cool to see what it was really doing. Fun stuff
I’ve ran a D-10 and that was an awesome machine. I can only imagine how this machine feels.
Eh you're not missing much
Exactly, not missing much, just an R model or older.
Who would of ever thought cameras in dozers would be such great thing. Kill dozer is the one who started that hahaha
The digital clock is what separates this from the competition!
Great video 👍

I want to run one of these monsters so bad. I guess I gotta keep growing the channel to get Cat to recognize me 😂 good video Scott.
Get a job at a mine?
@@duelcard1391 if it were that easy...
Iron Planet has a running, drive train fwd & Rev, and hydraulics fully operational D11 for sale now, and the asking is $95k
I,m also happy to operate Dozer D11T 🙏🙏
Cool video!
Enjoyed watching it a lot!
Thank's for sharing!
ya would think they would have a much bigger display showing the working area
Awesome machine 👍🏼
Caterpillar la madre de todas las maquinarias de alta eficiencia en toda clase de tecnología
Wouldn’t it be better if the cameras display was in the middle instead of the clock?
This new next gen D11 or new next gen Komatsu d475a-8 what is better?
Outside view view would be ideal

So quite in the cab.
That's my idea of a good day!
Thanks Mr. Pushy!
With the Komatsu 575 competition, is there a D-12 on the drawing board?
575 is discontinued

What do you think the xe will be like?
Ran an R model and a T model both today, split shift between them. Take the R any time, any where.
I’m pretty sure with a carry blade your sight to ground in front on level ground is 120 feet
Great video

Put the cab over the bucket ?
Very limited view 😢 this was much better on the older Cats

That thing weighs as much as my mother in law!
Wow
For 2 milion it should be awsome and should be the cats meow its amazing the size great for mining and
I like this guy he knows his stuff
She is very quiet
Poor ending to the video
Muy fuerte c ve vien pero comatsu.le saca la milla
Shouldnt push in second gear. Stresses the powertrain unnecessarily.
Like a ship, how you drive this is beyond me, is it safe to go past..lol
The cabin view to the working areas is terrible. I hope it has cameras all over the unit.
