because it would require special drivetrain changes to the zwift cog and the hub and belt driven riders are less common. The trainers are built with the most common users in mind.
She doesn't ride long enough or hard enough to notice it. I feel if she was a proper rider then it's a massive oversight. Even for me, I prefer 165s but can ride bigger without too much of an issue
I love my Zwift Ride. I am also one of those who have been regularly emailing them about making shorter cranks for me. At least they are 170mm, but I really need 165. There are folks working on independent fixes, but Zwift really needs to address this.
So it's not just me who hates riding around in virtual worlds. I much prefer Trainer Road and whatever else I can find on my Apple TV to keep me entertained.
I have the Stages SB20 for the same reason: it's always available and my (very short) wife can use it. I also agree with Cam's wife: I don't know why people like riding through virtual villages. Trainer Road blue bars and RUclips for me.
Zwift is a massively multiplayer online GAME, complete with the social aspects and quests. It is not a simulation, but the effort is most certainly real, workouts are plentiful and no less accurate. Rouvy is a road cycling simulation and Peloton is a gym class simulation. Training Peaks Virtual, formerly indieVelo, is a game optimized to be more realistic (correct drafting, wind, slow for corners) than Zwift and with greater safeguards to protect the competitive integrity of the online racing at all levels. MyWhoosh is a free option courtesy of the sportswashing efforts of the UAE. Different flavors for different folks. I'll take the animated world surrounded by avatars of thousands of other real humans and quests to complete over; blue bars, video of real roads and under absolutely no circumstances, even sportswashing, a fitness trainer giving a spin class. Any of these will improve fitness relative to the effort put in so it is all just a subjective question of preference to which flavor you enjoy best and which of these will aid you most in motivation.
My wife moved my Yeti and leaned it against my tool chest where it fell drive side down a minute later .. and I’m not proud to say I made a high pitched noise 😱 like a little girl. Thankfully the only damage was a small dent in the oak flooring. Marriage is a challenge sometimes. 🙃
I know it's popular, but I just can't bring myself to riding indoors, I have a set of rollers which haven't been used for about 3 years, but when I did bring myself to use them, 3x 1hour a year was all I could manage.
Nice video, congrats for your channel. At the time I'm also looking for a indoor solution for me and my wife as she Is always annoying me to go to the garage and take my bike from the roller and to put her bike instead, as she is affraid to mess it up. I loved this Zwift bike concept but neither one of us are zwift app users. Does it really work without being connected? Does it work Only using my Garmin in the indoor setup?

@@CamNicholls Purchased the Argo Vento R3 140mm. So far so good. I've tried about 6 different saddle types prior to this one. This is by far "THE ONE" for me. Hundreds of miles on it so far. The comfort is unreal.
Hah, this made me laugh. Zwift ride seems like a cool concept, but you'll never beat riding your own bike and using your own gears. Worth the 5 min to take the bike on/off IMHO. Plus this should have a belt drive to make it silent and adjustable cranks. Then I might change my mine.
If a bike is been pampered like an egg, then why would folks spend the thousand to buy them , i thought the bike was an exercise tool and not a trophy , well maybe that's me been a dick and scratching my head
haha, you can still keep them in nice condition and 'ride' them. I know plenty of way better riders than me that ride big KMs and keep their bikes immaculate.
Don’t understand why the Zwift Bike has a chain and not a toothed rubber belt, should at least be an option with the Zwift Hub
Interesting point, hadn't even thought of that.
because it would require special drivetrain changes to the zwift cog and the hub and belt driven riders are less common. The trainers are built with the most common users in mind.
I think it’s because the rubber would stretch under high stress/power causing inaccurate power readings.
To give it a more real bike feel rather than a piece of gym equipment.
@ Do you realise Harley Davison motorcycles use a toothed belt, human power is minuscule. 😂😂
Smiles on my face, great video and story, Cam!
I laughed my ass off within the first 5 seconds, nicely done ( and I agreed lol).
You made my day with your attempt at pronouncing aluminum correctly. 🤣
Old Mate has the right idea! 😂😂
You are way too hard on yourself Cam!
He’s not wrong! 😂
I thoroughly enjoyed this one Cam, Thanks for the video.
Cheers mate
How were the crank lengths for your wife? It's such a misstep that Zwift didn't put adjustable cranks on there or a way to swap cranks.

yeah 165's would be nice for both Alice and I

I'm looking forward to being in your neck of the woods at Xmas leaving a, hopefully, snowy Swiss mountains. Loved this one....
Just watched this , very funny 😁, made my day
Great video, show us your wife 🤣 my wife is contemplating getting a Zwift bike and I am not one to stop her. Wow that BMC is one lucky bike.

For me it's the virtual events, training events and races. Not so much the "worlds"
Using Rouvy on a big screen i do sometimes actually feel like I'm riding outside, unlike zwift

I don’t know if I can watch this. It’s hitting to close to home! 😂
Put a smile on my face on Friday morning. 😂

Is it possible to get blood out of an oak floor?
Classic LOL. So the bike was OK! That's a bike plus. Women obviously know how to floor a bike.
"No one cares about you, show us your wife" lol😂 Brilliant
Can you post a link to the table you have supporting the laptop in front of the bike please?

Yeah i'd treat the gifted bike even better than the bikes I bought with my own cold hard cash!!
Love my Zwift ride but I wouldn't let my wife on it LOL!
We love Tom ❤

Should have got the Missus to flog some of her essential oil stuff. Missed opportunity 😂
Dick in a blender I say
I have the Kickr Rollr. I find it more immersive than the direct drives and Kickr bike I have owned. Would be interested in your opinion Cam.
I love how the Rollr moves in the rear. That makes it WAY more comfortable IMO. It is a bit noisy though.
@
Agree on that. Also the wheel slip out of the saddle isn’t ideal.
It feels like a Gen 1 product but the concept is wildly underrated IMO.
So Cam, how long did it take to set the zwift bike up?
About 90mins in the end. Should have been 20! I was hot and flustered.
You still riding that fizik Argo?? How are you finding it?
Rather the Eagle SMP that is for sure

Can't believe, sutch a nice weather outdoor and you are riding indoors??? Also, what's the car outside of the garage, is it Škoda?
Yeah Skoda Kodiac and lots of rain over our summer here!
Did you go buy a lottery ticket after that 🤣 ?
How does the shifting work then on this?
Betting on ERG mode.
It's in the bars, works like a DI2 on the road.
My wife moved my bike and it fell over onto the trainer. The cassette left several chips on the top tube.
Uhhhh 😓😫
NNNNoooooooooooo! That is proper terrible news. Sorry for your paint loss!
@@CamNicholls saved some weight 😂
Strange that Zwift would send an Australian RUclipsr a Zwift bike and then not make it available for Australians to buy.
I thought it was available as I know several people who have bought them
Not 100% sure about Aussie availability, but Australia is only my 3rd largest audience, behind USA and UK
Cam, will you be getting a new BMC from the sponsors?
Not sure at this point. I technically haven't been 'sponsored' by BMC since May this year.
@CamNicholls ahhh Fair enough :)
does it work on kickr version 5?
🥖🥖🥖 For the story glad the BMC didn't get wrecked
The only thing you need now is... Another zwift bike! 😄
Just like you Cam I lost my shit. (It makes a serious grinding noise). Sorry, respect and all, funny as mate.
I could watch Alice pedal for hours.
You need 2 Zwift bikes….
"there is nothing i can think of worse than riding through one of those zwift villages" .....i'm on your wife's side.....sorry zwift
Sounds like his wife might like rouvy. Give her a free month with COLIN1M code...
And you’re still married! 😂
Cool story Cam ;)
alice is such a snack

Virtual gears mean you can adjust according to the course you are riding
poor bmc
😂Never lay your steed down lol
Zwift Bike needs a lot of work. No TT setup or geometry. No adj. crank length or chain ring. Prefer my Kickr + climb with road or TT bike
Crank length would have been a nice addition that is for sure
Zwift bike is a no until it works with other apps.
Which apps are you referring to?
@ Mywhoosh, Rouvy, Indievelo vs.
Aluminomu
If a bike is been pampered like an egg, then why would folks spend the thousand to buy them , i thought the bike was an exercise tool and not a trophy , well maybe that's me been a dick and scratching my head
Bicycles are a viable mode of transportation, far beyond just an exercise tool.
Bikes are meant to be ridden not dusted!

@@CamNicholls like mine! 14 year old carbon just rebuilt and repainted. Still approachable as a daily rider
She has gotta go........not a joke
So your wife is an angry nob who puts a good bike onto the ground, drive side down, because you annoyed her. Yeah, my wife is like that too...
Nah she's just a bit clumsy with the ADHD brain haha
Dude, paint your drywall! It’s not cool or trendy, it looks sloppy and lazy 😅
It's coming, after inside has been renovated.
