Border View Farms is a mid-sized family farm that sits on the Ohio-Michigan border. My name is Nathan. I make and edit all of the videos posted here. I farm with my dad, Mark and uncle, Phil. Our part-time employee, Brock, also helps with the filming. 1980 was our first year in Waldron where our main farm is now. Since then we have grown the operation from just a couple hundred acres to over 3,000. Watch my 500th video for a history of our farm I filmed with my dad.
I started making these videos in the fall of 2019 as a way to help show what I do on a daily basis as a farmer. Agriculture is different from any other industry and I believe the more people that are showing their small piece of agriculture, helps to build our story. We face unique challenges and stressful situations but have some of the most rewarding payoffs in the end. I get to spend everyday doing what I love, raising my kids on the farm, and trying to push our farm to be better every year. I hope that I can address questions or concerns that you might have about farms and agriculture.
I hope you enjoy my content and ask questions as you have them. I do my best to answer anything I can. Thanks for watching!
I appreciate you subscribing to my channel and liking my videos. You can also find me on Facebook borderviewfarms and on Instagram @borderviewfarms

Great video. Good buy on the manlift Nathan.
Brock please don't ever say you're "just a volunteer fire department". If you haven't gone to the call, who would have? You serve your community and I'm proud of your service.

We collected big in 2012, the first year we had full coverage. I sure slept better that summer knowing we had insurance. That is the only part of the government program I would miss if It was eliminated.

2012 was our drought claim, got the higher fall price, it won't pay on any aflatoxin we found that out. Unless the sample they take shows positive and good luck had 5 loads rejected at one elevator went through fine at next one. Extra replant endorsement been a great thing to have for us. As you said lots of bad choices are made with it as a backup.

I’m a new follower of your site and enjoying your contact you might want to check the distance to combustibles on your tube heaters I’ve had them for years in my shop and there’s a flame that shoots out of about the first 3 feet and it’s gonna be pretty hot good luck I think you’ll enjoy the warm

6" above and to the sides (the metal trusses aren't combustible) 92" below, which is why I put 1 in the peak instead of 2 further down the slope to the sides. I needed the clearance to my seed boxes.
