This is a story that needs to be told over and over again. The people in the South don't want this brought up and they want it to fade away because it's a stain on their ancestors. This woman is a national treasure. This is the real Savannah tour.
Nah we don’t care… we wasn’t responsible for it so why would we? Slave trade started long before us and throughout history blacks wasn’t the only slaves. Not to mention the slaves were sold off by their own kinds so which is worse?
I just completed this tour with the “Truth Teller” Sistah Patt today. Words can’t describe how full my heart is right now. I will never ever forget this amazing experience. I was so moved!
I'm planning a trip to Savannah and had a look on Trip Advisor for tours on Black history in the city. It's pretty sad that this was the only tour of the sort. I think it's awful that most people want to pretend like slavery never happened, but I'm glad this tour exists. I look forward to going later this year.
The black history of Savannah is mostly space trade up until early 60s . It was the biggest of export and import past the freeing of slaves. There is a good food tour. Too
Is there a reason why our black celebrities don't but field trips for young kids to see their history ? Basketball and Football is thing black celebrities want to do for kids.
Thank you so very much for sharing this! It has me weeping and angry as i think of what we are really seeing - that so very many innocent people were forced into horrific hells from there and that to this day none of this is even properly recognized by so many, let alone any reparations at all made.
the students from 1st to 8th grade are taken on a yearly pilgrimage to the savannah slave auction so they can be reminded they will always be victims and need white people to do for them. you will find the horror stories you are looking for because that is the fashion these days. blacks and whites can never get along so keep driving that wedge in. why not do a story on the current slave trade in africa today?
OMG i got chills all over when she started singing in that dark space🥀 - i believe she singing to them lost souls that were kept there😭 ready to be sold
The story of the young man telling his life story living on the plantation was very moving. I am sure they lived rich off the land running wild as I would enjoy as a child. Thank you for sharing these beautiful city stories of Savannah. A truly historical city I visited and enjoyed thoroughly.
Each year Savannah attracts millions of visitors to its cobblestone streets, parks, and notable historic buildings. These buildings include the birthplace of Juliette Gordon Low (founder of the Girl Scouts of the USA), the Georgia Historical Society (the oldest continually operating historical society in the South), the Telfair Academy of Arts and Sciences (one of the South's first public museums), the First African Baptist Church (one of the oldest African-American Baptist congregations in the United States), Temple Mickve Israel (the third-oldest synagogue in the U.S.), and the Central of Georgia Railway roundhouse complex (the oldest standing antebellum rail facility in the U.S.)
I drive through Savannah Ga a lot and i have to go see this. Thank you, Queen for some of this tour and i got chills. When she said the hooks on the wall 🧱 was there so the slaves couldn't move.
My husband and I visited last year for our Anniversary and didn't get a chance to see our culture we are coming this year and I look forward to seeing this.
@@user-oi5wm1od2k Hamites sold Shemites . These are two separate bloodlines 2 of the sons of Noah! Some people ways say Blacks sold their own people. But they neglect to say that the sales don't go thru without the purchaser. So if a people don't buy, then there is no sale!

Ballasts were used in empty ships or ships with low cargo. The cobblestone streets come from Madeira Island, Spain, Canada, France and the British Isles. It was not normal practice to use them in slave ships. They were unloaded by slaves and indentured servants. Slave ships were built in the North East. NYC was against the ending of slavery in South because they were made wealthy by the textile trade based on slavery in the South.
Don’t forget the mention that blacks wasn’t the only slaves and they was sold off by their own kings for guns and gold.. and don’t forget to mention that even though the Europeans were the last to participate, they was the first to end it..

All over the world. Our history was erased we’ve been lied to but to touch and listen and hug this women my ancestors. I felt I was getting closer slavery might not be the story of every person either melanined skin.
I agree but every single part of this world has some form of this history that’s asking how could anyone live in NYC with all its dark history hundreds of thousands killed and left under Central Park . Italy also has very dark history with slavery, and so much more. See when we don’t truly know our history we are doomed to repeat it. There is beauty in the pain sadly this is one of millions of stories.
Should do a tour of the Tribes that tracked, caught, and sold the slaves into captivity. Oh wait, that would mean admitting the unthinkable like it was their OWN kind that did this to them.
Actually, if you look at history it was both/and. All sides should take responsibility for what was done in the slave trade. I saw a RUclips video of an African Chief who did take responsibility for his ancestors part in the slave trade. When will all parties take responsibility so we can begin the healing process?

The mere fact that you mentioned a church and slavery in the same sentence is the problem in the south. I teach this to my student.

That mask represents the iron ones they put on the slaves. So we still never learn
