The parable of the prodigal son is my favorite of Jesus' parables, because it reveals the deep, unchanging, neverending, unconditional love and yearning God has for ALL of us. And it always has something more that I did not notice before. PASTOR BOHR: THIS SERIES IS A HUGE BLESSING!! PRAISE GOD AND THANK YOU. I have given this series its own playlist and have watched them repeatedly because they are so clear and profound. Thank You Lord God for this faithful man.
Hi, happy Sabbath, me again. I must watch this and the others in this series because there is so very much to unpack, to understand....and this is a very telling video and the Lord God is clearly pointing out my issues and sins BUT IN LOVE, AND He is clarifying the best and ONLY Way to remedy it: Jesus. Heed and obey His Word & Counsel, feeling or no feeling, emotion or no emotion. To simply hear, and not think and do accordingly, is only going to prove disastrous (i speak from personal, LOTS, of personal experience, and have a long way to go).
Beautiful and loving sermon! Lord search my heart and if there be any wicked thing me remove it from me by the Holy spirit! Forgive me and wash me clean. We only need to look at the beautiful character of Christ Jesus to know how we need a savoir! 🙏 Thank you.
Sorry Pastor B. I have studied in depth this subject in both the SOP & all of Scriptures and there is a good reason you can't find much support for this. When touching on the character of God we are told silence is eloquent. The road you travel to present this subject will lead where you don't expect to go. I have seen it first hand because once a foothold is gained, it most certainly will open the gate for more deceptions. Unconditional love, inadvertently leads to unconditional forgiveness and then ultimately to unconditional salvation. The only time unconditional is used in the SOP it is our unconditional surrender to God. This idea sounds wonderful to the unconverted heart but unconditional love would out of necessity require equal love for the Son and the enemy of souls. This belief is spiritualism in its fundamental state; making no difference between good and evil. It is true that God so loved the world that He gave his only son while we were yet sinners but, as I know you know, He doesn't want us to stay as we once were but wants us to be thoroughly converted. But not so to the unrepentant, not so to those who repeatedly reject His mercies. I know of two families who left the church saying, if His love is unconditional, then it makes no difference what church we attend. Please note. That term was never spoken or written prior to 1970's in this church. Search for it. Study to show thyself approved. This is that error, that was seen that would be nearly impossible to go against. After all, our parents once said "God loves us so much, surely he wouldn't destroy us?" Too much to say here.
Thy word is a lamp and a light. David and Jesus. David the lamp of Israel, Jesus the light of the world.
Thank you Pastor Bohr and Anchor Biblical Theology
