    ASU plays at Oceanside Ice Arena
    , 747 seats + 200ish standing room. The largest attendance at Oceanside Arena was 925

      By that logic, the university I coach at has the same claim to Gile River Arena as ASU.

    For the people in the comments who don't know, ASU plays most of their games at Oceanside which holds 800 but do play some games at the Coyotes arena

    University of Alaska Anchorage Seawolves now play at the 800-seat Seawolf Sports Complex after having horrible attendance at the 6,200-seat Sullivan Arena...so they're the smallest now.

    The Ralph in Grand Forks where North Dakota plays is hands down the largest. Its only hockey all the time. Its also the nicest hockey arena I have ever been in. The seats are leather, the floor has marble inlays of the Fighthing Sioux mascot. Its ridiculous. Taj Mah Hal of Hockey.

    ASU is the smallest, at Oceanside Ice...... They very rarely play at GRA. They are about to start building a new arena in Tempe in ASU campus though

      That's because the Coyotes play there so it's an NHL size arena. A lot of the larger arenas on this list also have AHL or ECHL teams play there.

      They actually have the smallest, which is oceanside. But since it's so small they have home ice advantage since it has low ceilings that opposing teams aren't used to.

    UCONN is 14,750 (9,801 w/ curtain system)
    AIC is 6,793
    Sacred Heart is 8,412
    UMASS-Lowell is 6,003

    Curious how many of these are dedicated rinks and does it even matter. UMASS for instance practices on a nondescript rink next door and Mullens hosts Basketball & Concerts.

    ASU doesn’t play all they’re games there. And Ohio state only uses the lower bowl for hockey so it should be something like 3. Ohio state 2. North Dakota 1. Wisconsin

      The University of Minnesota plays their mens games at the Excel center when the Wild are not in town, so you should just put the Gophers at the top.

      I’ve been to Mariucci, the “new” Ralph, the “old” Ralph and the Hockey center in St Clould. Seen the rink you have from the outside when I was visiting two years ago. I’m bringing the family for a good game next winter. Year after that, I’m going to Bemidji, then Mankato. I won’t be going to the Kohl center because it sucks and it’s not a real rink.

    I think this is a little skewed.... look at Ohio state. Yeah, the play at the Schott, but, it’s not just a hockey arena. It’s home to the basketball team also. I think if this was hockey specific arenas it would be way different.

      Think of it. If North Dakota were to play ASU at their home ice on a weekend in January- it would have to be the yotes facility and would be a sea of green. Probably 10,000 North Dakotans would travel to the game and every snowbird in Arizona would attend as well as their Grand kids who would stay with them for the weekend. The ultimate away home game.
      Huge money maker!

    Nice little fact: the XL Center (Home of UConn) is the former home of the Hartford Whalers. Also, it’s capacity is not 9,000, it is around 14,000

      For UConn games, upper portions of the XL Center were curtained off, so it wasn't at full capacity, it def was closer to 9k at most.

      UConn also isn’t really bad, lol. They were an OT bounce away from winning HE last year, and were ranked for a most of this season. They’re on the rise.

      Ohio state usually doesn't open the upper bowl for hockey. if they do, it's only a few sections. ive been to a bunch of buckeye hock games and I think the biggest crowd I've ver seen is like 10,000 people in an arena that sits almost 18,000

      ASU Average Attendance of the three games they played at Gila River Arena last season was 3,435
      Game 1 4062, Game 2 3341, and Game 3 2902.

      moronmonkey1 they play at Oceanside Arena, 800 person capacity. They rarely play at Gila River
