Fun fact: the italian Ro.44 was coded based on the 43, and as naval scout planes don’t have cockpit view because Gaijin cares this much (no, not even placeholders) the Ro.44 uses the Cr.32’s cockpit instead, and it doesn’t look like they plan on changing that anytime soon. Imagine a new player picking italy and seeing this. Real professionals…

There's an extremely cute French seaplane (made by Bloch I think?) in the French naval tree, and I wish I could have it in the air tree! Nice to see another video from you, Ash :)
as someone who regularly playes naval and has experience with it. The introduction of shipborn aircraft filled my soul with joy Only to find out that you cant have a cockpit view of it and that you cannot use them in custom battles because they soft-lock your game and will have to close it to get out (those planes that arent regularly playable such the kingfisher or the Ar 169) These aircraft in naval are really really useful despite being slow and have no armament nor armour. While your ship travels you can man your aircraft and gain altitude and orbit around your ship then fire with your ship and watching the shots its trully a cool experience. Other is lay the smoke screen to alllies, bot that are map objectives and provide cover (and to remove the locking of those bots so they stop being annoying) then also you can use the bombs to eliminate incoming torpedoes and lastly capping points. In EC you can use it to capture the air superiority events if needed. Again really helpfull, it brings alot of dynamism into gameplay But in the negative sides of thing, as mentioned if you used these planes in custom battles it will soft-lock your game and you cant do anything unless the plane is destroyed (if you are unlocky it can stay flying for a really long time and you will have to restart the game) i've submited multiples bug reports, highly details with proofs and even possible ways to solve this, providing everything that they asked me to fill in their dedicated bug-report section since the beggining of the winged lions update only to be turned out by a moderator there saying "issue is known/aknowledge)" and then be closed or taken down. I look at the bug report they addressed me to being the original bug report and seeing it is not even complete, no video evidence, not having much idea why this happens and just providing the minimum to pass the check to post it. Which is trully sad Another fact about this, the E13A1 at the beggining it had a bomb sight (is modeled in the bomb bay) but for some reason they took it out then also (this one being a bug) it shooted 20mm rounds from the 7.7mm (already fixed) I have another fact that still on to this day, the Ro.44, Being the figther version of the Ro.43 (beautifull aircraft btw) still has the cockpit of the CR.32 even thought they said the planned to give its own and that it was a placeholder for the time being BUT since its not a top tier aircraft nor a meta aircraft why would they care right Also im hoping for more seaplanes in the future, since we got the Laté 289D, im hoping to see the E16A zuiun or the M6A Seiran (this last one can carry a torpedo so its kinda a counter part of the Laté)
What is more criminal is that in Enlisted the E13A1 has a fully modelled cockpit. So we could perfectly have the E13A1 in the air tree as an unlockable similar to the kingfishers. And same shit with the Ar196, we have the Ar196 A3 with the 20mm MGFFs as a premium, but we could perfectly get the A2 version with just the 7.7 as a free unlockable for the tech tree, again like the kingfishers.
Things a Naval Main gets to say LOL... I have everyone of these and fly them in game very often! For anyone looking to test drive them, The Walrus is onboard the HMS York BR5.7 and the Loire 130C is onboard the Duplex, both are also my favorite in game recon aircraft!😉
I think they should put those floatplanes in the main aircraft tech trees and air battles game mode. But it does look like they might be doing that as you shown the modifications part for the planes which you don't get that part on the navel modifications.
I started playing Coastal recently and have been trying to get to at least 2.3 across most nations (and 3.3 for US/UK) and while these would be fantastic to have in the air TT for Air and Ground, these would still help in Naval too. Floatplanes can easily change the battle by being able to cap and decap points and I've caused a few games to be won because of it. The lack of low tier (or complete lack of) floatplanes for some nations can honestly be quite the hit to how you can play the gamemode. I really don't get why we don't get them in the TT as well since they're modelled, work and would do fine at 1.0/1.3 (and in some TTs could fill empty gaps in Rank 1).
Oh and, after this video I went to check that french flying boat, you can test fly it by test sailing the Dupleix from the website, and since the plane’s engine is above everything, you can actually take off and land on the ship at any time and store the aircraft in the back. Takeoff is complex, but you can wedge yourself to the sides and drop without damage, which is kinda cool
Those naval planes are used in naval battles mostly to capture control areas in early stage of the battle - especially those remote ones, which are difficult to access by the "small" boats. Apart from that, US Navy AA defense guns are so OP, that any dive bomb or torp bomb attempt equals suicide. Torpedos on a torp bomber have very short range. Even high altitude bombing is not that easy. So good luck with that.
as someone who used to play a lot of arcade naval, float planes are only really useful for capping points at the start of the match... Shame since they are so cool, wish they were in the regular techtree too
Really would love to have some modes that give us the feel of aircraft vs naval. Things like flying in mass numbers of the same aircraft to dive bomb/torpedo bomb a naval convoy and stuff like that. There's so much potential for that in the game but isn't realized.
I don't play Naval much since it's so time consuming, but when I do it seems like most Naval players completely forget they have deployable planes and how OP they are. You can steal caps extremely easily, the smokescreens are extremely effective and larger and longer lasting than any plane smokescreen was IRL, and they can be used to scout. The smokescreens especially can help, you run ahead of your ship and instantly break any spotting the enemy AI had so their secondaries stop and refocus on someone else.
1930s french aviation-designs generally seem to fall into 2 categories: 1) drop-dead gorgeous 2) ugly-as-sin BUT very functional. The 130 is defenetly category 2 but man is it good for what it's supposed to be (for it's time)
Naval recon aircraft are useful that if you are a battleship with a catapult, you can capture points. So it’s useful to get some cap xp even if you can’t get there physically
Useful on british cruisers too. You can almost cap all 3 points before enemies come in (almost cause its a bit slow to get to 3rd point on big maps or get gunned down by small boats on their point they nearly spawn on).
Wish these were in the main trees as well. Although they're not that useful they are very fun to have and play around in. I'm always hyped when a new float- or seaplane gets added.

Honestly I think I can move more to sea warfare. If only my laptop coud carried out that. I would love to carry a torpedo in an Avenger and than jump to a walrus.
Playing naval requires a certain mindset, it's a great way to chill and is fun to do but I agree it's boring as hell to watch as a 3rd party. There never will be any Twitch WT Naval tournaments for that reason, IMHO. Having a float plane in your naval line up does come in handy sometimes to take a capture point. You won't always use it, but if there is a uncovered capture point just sitting there, you can take it quickly and it may help your team win the game. The grind in Naval is awful, especially at the higher BR's.
I've been trying to do those Battle Pass naval missions, and cannot get a battle at 2.3 and 4.3. Why do they put those missions in when that mode is unavailable???

On another note in the files is a Great War era floatplane the Fairey IIIF Mk.IIIB an it even ended up in a few economic change posts lol. Hm Also CV's reminds me I need to put a draft in for MAC's, Seaplane Tenders & the Project 1143 lol.

The only use i have ever found for the soc-1 is to put a 500% booster on Detroit and use it to speed around the caps
gaijin has no excuse to not add the bolton Paul defiant no after they added the po2m into the game.
You can test drive some of those aircraft through premium ships

First comment let’s go, I used golden eagles to get the Kingfisher in the US tree just to be able to say I have all the Us aircraft. 🤣
I am only half way through the video and this makes me want to play naval just so I can play with these planes. (So ugly they're beautiful.)
