The teams and riders need to come together collectively to come up with a plan and make their case to the AMA. They need to protect their investments before someone gets seriously hurt due or a championship is lost due to a flagging incident. Clearly the AMA doesn't take their complaints seriously. Maybe threaten to boycott if they don't attempt to improve things. That may be extreme but idk what convinces them.

Theres a local track in Casey Illinois Lincoln Trail Motorsports. They have invest into the lights on all blind jumps and they have flaggers on stands so they can see the back sides. They also have track officials that ride around portions of the track with the remotes to kick on the lights so whenever they see a flagger they kick on the lights and go over to make sure riders are not jumping on anybody
The flaggy was waving the yellow flag way before Anderson and the other rider through caution to the wind & decided to jump anyway... The flaggers not to go on the track like others have said, so he was doing all he could. I think most people are picking on the person this time.....
Id expect Sexton to outlast Hunter fitness wise, Hunters first year on the 450 is making all the other riders look slow except Sexton and Jett. Hunters Redbud crash I believe was caused from just being spent from pushing so hard. That was the longest he had pushed in a moto on the 450. It's crazy that a lot big motor sports rely on volunteers to do the most important job. They need lights just use the ones from Supercross. Bikes also need the fork lights from Supercross and illuminate blue when the leader is within 10 seconds so flaggers can find them easier and waive them down. So many races getting screwed by lappers. Great content lately.
MX Sports is adamant that flaggers stay off the track at all times -- no exceptions. I've personally seen volunteer flaggers dismissed and sent home because they stepped out onto the track to protect riders or bikes which were lying in dangerous locations. Their policy is that only Alpinestars medics and MX Sports officials in the grey shirts are permitted onto the track -- flaggers must simply stand in their assigned spots off to the side.
What was Christian Craigs best outdoor 450 finish on a Yamaha? I believe it was 5th 2 years ago at the end of the season. He is fast, the field has just got better. In the Dnations race, he actually did real well considering he wasn't racing prior to the flying to France. Yes he fell, and got up and kept going. Where as AP gave up in the 2nd moto.

The tracks already have requirements stated in their contracts with mxsports regarding everything from restrooms to fencing etc. All they need to do is add something in the contract with the tracks requiring lights on blind sections. Then mx sports wouldnt even have to pay for it.
The Riders need a Union. They need the power of the Whole and that includes the top tier riders too. Parity of starting money, the availability of group health insurance and most of all the Safety concerns being addressed and enforced. BTW being a flagger sucks and the reason why finding experienced people is difficult. My suggestion appeal to the local clubs/racers and follow what some the off road and road race clubs do and require it as part of a work credit.
With today's wireless technology they could build small light towers, that are remotely controlled that could travel with dirt Worx or Alpinestars medical or some other caravan entity. You guys make it sound like the recent Deegan incident with no flagger at all.

No one is willing to push and change to go there but sexton and as I said it’s a mental block.

The flaggers arent allowed on the track or to cross it (for good reason), there isnt much that particular flagger could do. JA is a knucklehead, he didnt slow at all.
If the flagger was further out on the track, It'd make the riders go to their left and miss the downed rider and bike. But, JA is a knuckle head, there's no doubt about that.

My local track implemented lights and sirens on the track , and its pretty awesome. Southfork MX in Virginia
Our track had lights only, which were useless, adding sirens would have helped for sure.
