What is a Call To Action? CTA Easily Explained

You hear it said all the time by content creators, a call to action. But what is a call to action and how can beginner podcasters use it to grow reach, respect and earn revenue from your podcast.
The biggest missed opportunity for most social media posts is a clear CTA. A call to action is asking your audience to do something specific. It is common for people to ask people to like, comment or share, however these CTAs are common, they don’t tend to get the engagement they once did. To create engagement, making an offer to benefit the audience may be a better approach.
Encourage them to join your exclusive podcast group, or email list, or receive your newsletter. Facebook groups, discord servers and membership programs may all be offered to fans and followers of your show. Create them and invite your audience to participate in them. These provide value to the audience, while providing you with future access to someone who is already engaging with you and what you do.
You may also encourage people to tag other people or organizations in comments who may be interested. (i.e. use the “@username”). Tagging someone can have a similar effect to sharing a post in that it can help you gain some more organic reach in someone else’s network.
On social platforms that support hashtags, creating a hashtag strategy around your show could also help shareability and identifying people and fans in your community. Encouraging them to use your show’s hashtag promotes support of your brand and creates curiosity in others who may see it.
