Hi, I'm Thomas, a first year PhD student at Cardiff University. This is my channel where I share my experiences of academia and pieces of Physics and Astronomy I find interesting.
If you enjoy videos from Simon Clark, Dr Becky or Ruby Granger, I think you'll enjoy my videos!

In this video, I start my series on Academic Skills, looking at valuable skills for university students at undergraduate and postgraduate level. This video looks at conducting a search for academic literature - i.e. papers. It's applicable to people in both the sciences/STEM and the arts/humanities. I look at the issues with using Google Search, introduce Google Scholar and NASA ADS, and give a brief tutorial on their use.
This was such an interesting video - thank you, Thomas!
I'm still gonna filetype:pdf "paper" my way through everything
Is it possible in lower temperatures though? Maintaining 27*C over a long period of time in such a large enclosure isn't really feasible
Can you tell me where i can read psychology and biology papers?
"Do not use google"? My first thought: "But google scholar is kind of like *the* tool to find papers". Let's watch the video :) Will be fun :) UPDATE after watching the first three minutes: Ah, the thumbnail was just clickbait. Hmkay. Interesting choice.
Same here. When I saw the thumbnail I thought "Wait, is there something better than Google Scholar? I have to know what it is!"
