  • This video is the first of the series Relativsatz German.
    In this lesson I will explain you the characteristics of German relative clauses in general and what's behind the concept of a relative clause. This information you need to know and understand for the following videos about Relativsatz im Akkusativ, Dativ und Genitiv. They are all based on this information I teach you in this lesson.
    Das Relativpronomen im Nominativ is pretty straight forward and easy to memorize: Just take the definite articles of the noun and you will have your relative pronouns in nominative. And don't forget: Ein Relativsatz ist ein Nebensatz (subordinate clause): Conjugated verb always at the end! ;)
    Viel Spass und bis bald

    I'm not sure if this is the best question to ask right now, but at what point does German become difficult? I'm finding that, so long as I can make logical sense of the grammar, the information you're providing doesn't present any problems. In my case, vocabulary is the greatest struggle; that may be a future video for you, how to retain more efectively the words we're learning...

    • @yourgermanteacher
      @yourgermanteacher  4 года назад +14

      great to hear! 😊
      according to my experience it all depends on the student at the end... some struggle from the beginning, some later and some never so much. so you cant say at what point it gets difficult. but as you already mentioned the most important thing if u wanna be able to speak the language is at the end the vocabulary. and this every student has to have his own technique as there are different types of learners. but the most important part when learning voca is the to get the gender of the noun right from the beginning as the whole rest of the sentence can change accordingly. but thanks for your hint. good idea for a video! 👍🙏

    Is it common to use relative sentences while speaking or it is just in written form
