It can be forgotten amidst all the 071 appreciation that these are ageing beasts too more than a quarter of a century in service now. Incidentally, I've never known of a 201 operating the Sligo line. Was it ever the case?. Love the video.

@@irelandbloke As far as I'm aware the 22000 class were a direct replacement for the 071s.

10 of them (201-205 and 210-214) were in service for only 15 years. They went into storage because they're not push/pull capable so they couldn't be used on the Mk4 or Enterprise. Now they're just being salvaged for parts for the in service locos. 230 is also in storage after been destroyed by fire. And 225 came back into service last year after been in storage for about nine years because it ran over a tractor on a level crossing killing a farmer.
