This game is amazing. I could never beat the first jaguar thing as a kid so I would just replay the first level over and over then go back to Sonic and Vectorman lol
If I remember this came right at the end of the Mega Drive's lifespan, but absolutely, it was one of those games like Flashback, Earthworm Jim and Lion King that really pushed the system to its limits and made you wonder "how much better can things get?!". And then of course came Next Gen. Such a great era in gaming
I played this game with my sister as kids in our first computer (we didn't call it "PC" back then, lol). So much memories in this game like we arguing which should be the jump button, Q or W. I also remember getting very angry at dying so many times in the Runaway Minecart. Lol. We also discovered a way to cheese the final boss by infinitely farming bombs in a previous area. Spamming bombs the final boss made him unable to hit you if you're far enough. And when I finally completed all the PITFALL letters (no google or internet back then), I felt like a god at exploring. Lol.
Loved the animations for this game. Your dude moved and felt like he had real weight. I especially liked how you faceplant if you ran into a wall at speed. Such nostalgia.
I beat the game last night. Loved the ending, it's hilarious and worth going back after all these years. But then it shows me the A and L that I had collected and says "You might have missed something." And I'm like, "Dude, they're not Chaos Emeralds! Gimme a break!"
this game was part of my childhood, now 20 years old I have been looking for it for almost 10 years to see it again and today I think it, I am very happy
50:48 to get the boomerang you need to do a back flip (run and jump into the wall then press left up right quickly) 50:59 if you keep bouncing between left and right cobweb without touching floor, an item will appear in the middle, I forgot what it was though
I played this game in the year of 1999-2002, Good old memories. I was in my highschool period. Everyday after returning from my college I used to play these games. Thanks for refreshing my sweet childhood memories again dear.. Very well played 🤜🤛
Bless this vid 🙏🏽 Used to play this with my dad as a kid when he got his brand new computer running good ol’ Windows 95 😂 Just downloaded an emulator of this game today, felt so good to be back :D
I did that thing where you go, "oh I remember X game from my childhood, wanna look it up to see if it triggers any memories"... And was surprised to find out that the animations in this game were WAY better than I remember.
So nostalgic...20 years like a second. 46:33 button . If you stay afk opposite side of a wall, character will lean to it and push the button. Somehow i still remember this... :)
Thanks for sharing this. Motivated me to track down a cart. Like others have said here the animation and attention to detail really stands out as ambitious and impressive even still today.
I just started this video but I know it's going to be so nostalgic! I didn't have the systems, but my dad somehow had these on CDs for the computer. I saw another video about the 2D pitfall, which I also played, but then this one popped up. It's such a faint memory in that, I know I spent a lot of time playing it and trying to get through it, but you also wouldn't exactly remember what it was about or what you had to do unless you saw it again 😭
I made it much farther than I thought I would as a 5/6/7yo! The game is so redundant in that you have to constantly pass through the same sections and face the same enemies to collect everything, but I guess as a kid, you have all the time in the world haha. I'm also surprised I remember so much! Like the rainfall, railroad tracks, the bouncy tongues, and switching blocks. I think I always died at the 2 jaguars in level 4, cause level 5 doesn't ring a bell. Not sure if I even attempted to switch weapons 🤣 Also, I see now that the original pitfall was a side game in this game so that makes a lot of sense. I was thinking there's no way I'd play the first one that many times haha But damn, there's so much depth to this game. Guess I would be surprised, but Roller Coaster Tycoon was also a masterpiece for that time and day!
I played the game in my childhood, still remember getting back from school and getting hooked with this game i was in 3rd or 4th grade but never killed the last boss i thought it was impossible and the end is that no matter what you do you can't win. I also remember Playing dave 2 alot and tomb raider, igi those days were amazing
This video made my day! It's been over 15 years, why do I remember the routes XD Also, does anyone else remember parkouring off the wall in Copan temple to get that boomerang that's really high up or was that a fever dream?
There is a supershot function if u press and hold A button, and there is a wall run and jump too to get those hard to reach boomerangs, press forward and up whipe jumping on a wall.
Just today got a copy of this game. Didn't know if I could love it as the SNES version, but I can gratefully say I'm not disappointed, because is basically the same game. They're like 2 twin games, with minor differences👌
The Game Boy Advance port of this game was my second ever video game. I loved the themes and music as a kid, but only now did I watch the original. Just picked up a copy of it today at my local used games store!
Years ago I had a disc that had like 100 games on it some demos some full games (i wish i kept it), and this was one of them! Don't think i ever got past that first level
I reach to this game looking for market research for an university project and I can believe such a good game with so many details and a gameplay that has aged so well existed for the Genesis
This was so difficult and on the same level of Aladin and Lion King. I always got lost on the Lost City of Copan level... and I remember it had Mars theme from Gustav Holst's Planets in the opening credits when they show the company logos. I am not sure about my memory. Do you know what it is?
Did you know Sonic Triple Trouble (Game Gear) [K-A], Donkey Kong Country (SNES) [K-A], Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure (Genesis) [T], Doom (32x) [M] & Super Punch-Out (SNES) [K-A] were the first games that received the ESRB ratings from September 16th, 1994?
I just beat this tonight on my Mega SG. As someone said below, you can farm bombs at the end of the second to last level. Youll need exactly 40 to beat the final boss. Just make sure not to lose all your lives between the levels, otherwise you will lose all your bombs on the next continue.
Had three games on genesis that I played the most. Pitfall, Comix Zone, and Judge Dredd. Never finished any of them. Games were fricken hard as a kid back then man. And even now I don't know if I'd have the motivation to beat them
This game is amazing. I could never beat the first jaguar thing as a kid so I would just replay the first level over and over then go back to Sonic and Vectorman lol
Pitfall has some of the hardest boss fights in the world! My hands are always shaking after those jaguars attacks.
You were a little armless i guess🤔
I played it everyday to the end in my childhood, one of the easier genesis games.
I glad to still have this gam as a original in a perfect status.
You have no idea how long I’ve been looking for this, I honestly thought I was going crazy and it never existed
Same bro,same.
This game was ahead of its time.
I cannot believe how beautiful this 2D graphics are and the music is outstanding as well.
And don't forget the main character movements, they are amazing!!
You r right man we enjoyed alot this game...unfortunately lacking this type today's eara
Im admiring those animated sprites so pricise details after becoming game designer i can see now
If I remember this came right at the end of the Mega Drive's lifespan, but absolutely, it was one of those games like Flashback, Earthworm Jim and Lion King that really pushed the system to its limits and made you wonder "how much better can things get?!". Some real heart when into these old games. It wasn't just for the money you could tell which ones were passion projects.
I played this game with my sister as kids in our first computer (we didn't call it "PC" back then, lol). So much memories in this game like we arguing which should be the jump button, Q or W. Lol.
i remember playing this as a kid. i always died just before the copan temple LOL.
The tiger keep killin me at the temple lol
I never even got out of the forest 😔
I'm sooo overwhelmed by nostalgia right now. This was my childhood. Thnq so much for uploading this
This game was insanely hard. I never got past the mine cart level. And that was after HOURS of playing.
me to man i always played it at my grandmas house like ones a year and i dreamed about it till i can play it again
I never got past the two lions in the level after the mine.
Loved the animations for this game. Your dude moved and felt like he had real weight. I especially liked how you faceplant if you ran into a wall at speed. Such nostalgia.
The glowing red eyes in the background are a nice touch
I beat the game last night. Loved the ending, it's hilarious and worth going back after all these years. But then it shows me the A and L that I had collected and says "You might have missed something."
And I'm like, "Dude, they're not Chaos Emeralds! Gimme a break!"
My man walked so Nathan drake could run
My Sega Genesis was so beautiful so nostalgic man good times, my fellow millenials can u hear me!
The Genesis was my first ever game console.
Hey fren
this game was part of my childhood, now 20 years old I have been looking for it for almost 10 years to see it again and today I think it, I am very happy

This is what I played as a kid loooong before the Uncharted series was created.
This is the best Pitfall game video in RUclips.
Thanks for making this with as much care as we did back in our childhood.
Thanks a lot :)
This was and still is such a spectacular game. It has such richness and imagination
Minha infância marcada em um game. Eu tinha relances desse jogo na minha mente, mas não lembrava qual era, daí um dia desses comprei um mega Drive antigo e veio com essa fita. This game is simply amazing. Beautiful from every point of view. Way ahead of its time....

I couldn’t remember this game for 10 years and now it shows up in my recommended, thank you RUclips, this was my most played childhood game
This game still holds up till this day, its so good.
I remember finishing this game a kid it was the best achievement as a kid
I remember thinking these graphics were so good. The animations are actually phenomenal
This game was my childhood! Thanks for uploading
I played this game in the year of 1999-2002, Good old memories. I was in my highschool period. Everyday after returning from my college I used to play these games. Thanks for refreshing my sweet childhood memories again dear.. Very well played 🤜🤛
I remember playing this super young. Very nostalgic video
thank god, I finally saw someone completed this game. Dream does come true
This is nostalgia. Visited my uncle's house in my childhood to play this game. Thanks for uploading. Appreciate the efforts ❤
I'm not gonna lie...it's hysterical that his dad is actually the Atari sprite.
The original Pitfall
I'm amazed how my 8 year old self was only 1 level away from completing the game.
omg this game was my childhood!
i played this game when i was a kid. i have thought about this game many times.. but never found it. till now...
Great playing out there mate, you can double jump using the wall at 50:45, I remember the shock on my face when I discovered that 22 years ago.
yeah i realized it after
My childhood 😢 Been looking for this game for ages i couldn't remember the name. Thanks for uploading.
That's the best looking 2600 game EVER
😅😅👍
I just want to back to my childhood 😢
1:24:18 - Why is his dad a minecraft character? Did the sprite artist take the day they were doing "Dad" off?
funny tribute to first Pitfall game)
@@2GOOD Oh, okay. That makes perfect sense then xD
Wow. Loved watching my older brothers play this as a kid. It was just a demo so we never played past the first level..
@THE MARTIAL ARTS CHANNEL It was a demo on a PC disk. It was like a pack of 40 different demos.
Graaaaaaaaaaaaaaacias por subir esto. Que nostalgia. 😭
Sonic 2, street of rage 2 and Pitfall the mayan adventure is the most best sega games ever made!
One of my Favorite game of all times💗
Bless this vid 🙏🏽
Used to play this with my dad as a kid when he got his brand new computer running good ol’ Windows 95 😂
Just downloaded an emulator of this game today, felt so good to be back :D
Yes! This game came with some computers back then!
I can't believe it, Harry Jr. is the son of Pitfall Harry the main main character of the 1982 Atari game? Like father like son
I did that thing where you go, "oh I remember X game from my childhood, wanna look it up to see if it triggers any memories"... And was surprised to find out that the animations in this game were WAY better than I remember.
1:24:23 , lol, the game overall is beautiful for a 2d Genesis game and they had to draw the father like an Atari 2600 character hahaha
Not "an Atari 2600" character. THE Atari 2600 character from the original Pitfall, his dad.
So nostalgic...20 years like a second. 46:33 button . If you stay afk opposite side of a wall, character will lean to it and push the button. Somehow i still remember this... :)
I remember holiding down the slingshot for a super charge
When ur so good you dont get hit once and you troll skeletons
I used to play this game too much when I was a kid, now I will never find out the CD which contains this game (cry) CHILDHOOD
Thanks for sharing this. Motivated me to track down a cart. Like others have said here the animation and attention to detail really stands out as ambitious and impressive even still today.

I wanna see this get a modern remake to get up with Tomb Raider and Uncharted
20 years ago, i play this game for first time
My childhood!
I was looking for this sooooo much.... :')
The animation still looks great
Thank you! Great gameplay👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
The most hardest game of my childhood. Played on pentium II with windows 98
Awesome playthrough on this classic!
My brother used to play better than me! Love the video.. thanks for bringing the childhood memories back. 🤗
Outstanding animations, so smooth! Just like a Disney game.
I remember playing it when I was like 4 years old :D
back in 1994, everybody played The Lion King...
...wise kids knew better = PITFALL THE FUCKING MAYAN ADVENTURE
This video made my day!
It's been over 15 years, why do I remember the routes XD
Also, does anyone else remember parkouring off the wall in Copan temple to get that boomerang that's really high up or was that a fever dream?
Yes, it is possible. I did it on SNES version. Check here ruclips.net/video/G34rcaK11W0/видео.html
Jedna z lepszych zręcznościówek jakie powstały, niebyt łatwa, lekko upierdliwa, ale fajna. Trochę w nią pograłem :) pozdrawiam
They did a great job on this. Certainly better than "Super Pitfall" on the NES (though I don't hate that one as much as a lot of people do).
Just came here to say that i love Genesis and will never let it go.
So many classics ive still yet to play.
There is a supershot function if u press and hold A button, and there is a wall run and jump too to get those hard to reach boomerangs, press forward and up whipe jumping on a wall.
Man, I use to love playing this game with my boys!!! Better times frfr!!!
You are a beast !! Congrats, I barely succeed to complete the second level (with cheats) 😑 . Thank you for uploading !
Love this game. One of the most under-rated game...
Me acuerdo que tenía 7 años cuando jugaba a este juego. Cuanta nostalgia 😄
I love how Pitfall Harry in this game is just his original sprite.
Thanks for that great gameplay.
Just today got a copy of this game.
Didn't know if I could love it as the SNES version, but I can gratefully say I'm not disappointed, because is basically the same game. They're like 2 twin games, with minor differences👌
😃thank you!! I used to play this game for hours on 1997 good days!

Haha the ending. Taking a photo of the tv. Oh the good old days😊
One of my first windows 95 games, also worked in windows 3.1 (same as Earthworm Jim 1)
Lion king, Jungle book, Aladin & Pitfall.
Ever green games. ❤️❤️
This game had the best sound fxs
This was so difficult and on the same level of Aladin and Lion King. I always got lost on the Lost City of Copan level... and I remember it had Mars theme from Gustav Holst's Planets in the opening credits when they show the company logos. I am not sure about my memory. Do you know what it is?
This game was so hard and diverse! When I found out the cheatcode for this game it was like a party!!!
The precursor of uncharted
I had this on my PC in 1996, never got past the final boss. Nice to finally see I didn't miss much lol
I never crossed the two lion part in level 4. Thank you for doing that for me. ❤
My literal childhood: one of my first games ever, I played this when I was like 6 or 7 when I was in Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦
I found it! l always remembered how brutal this game was. look at this? they send all kinds of things at you relentlessly. My poor childhood LOL
Amazing game! I remember breaking several controllers on my snes with this game.
Wow what an amazing game and whoever was playing was absolutely awesome at it!!
I played this as a kid, took me years but managed to win in the end
The end boss can be a pain if you dont have a bunch of boomerangs and bombs saved up.
I just beat this tonight on my Mega SG. As someone said below, you can farm bombs at the end of the second to last level. Youll need exactly 40 to beat the final boss. Just make sure not to lose all your lives between the levels, otherwise you will lose all your bombs on the next continue.
All the waterfall levels are my favourite !

Down memory lane...
10:45 What's gold for if you don't gain lives?
