23 years later that spot is still one of the most ICONIC moments in Wrestling History
Props to those guys for doing that
It's literally top 5 spot
And "steal the show" they did. Straight up will go down as one of the most iconic spots in the history of Professional Wrestling. All about making that mark, man.
it also helps that it was always shown during the RAW intro
completely solidified it as a indelibly legendary moment
So will the Swanton on the ladder
Edge's spear from the 20-foot ladder to Jeff Hardy is arguably Copeland's best spear of his career.
Thank you for being awesome in WWE and AEW, Adam. 😊
He literally just said it was a 12ft ladder
It’s arguably the best Spear EVER, not just of his career.
His two best Spears were both at WrestleManias - this one at WM17, and the one on Mick Foley through the flaming table at WM22. I can’t think of any others that he did that standout as much as those two.
@@CoffeeMatt10 What about Rhyno spearing Jericho through the wall?
Everyone talks about Rock and Austin but I honestly think this match was even more memorable than their's.
Who talks about that? People talk about the TLC all the time. You are the fist person I heard bring that match up in forever.
@@redrick8900 that was their best match, ending aside
@@redrick8900 and the build was legendary
💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀
“Oh my gawd edge with a 20 ft ladder with a spear on Jeff Hardy”
Baw gawd
I want to put it out there. Chris is the best interviewer, journalist whatever he is, he’s the best. Love his work
So glad you guys spoke about edge and Jeff doing this before on RAW. Everyone forgets about it !
it'd been great if he confirmed the story rhino told about Bubba getting pissed at him for accidentally falling asleep lol
Absolutely legendary
That was just one of those moments that stuck with me and made me love wrestling
I was ten, man it blew my mind and made me a fan for life
Chris pays a lot of people's rents lol he's awesome
🙏🙂
this is the first time I heard any of them acknowledge doing the spear on Raw first. it was just as cool then but X7 was a much bigger stage and the camera work was a lot better
I don’t recall that one… I know Edge had Speared Jeff from one ladder to another prior to TLC2, that was either the Triangle Ladder match at WM2000 or the first TLC at SS ‘00.
Was the one on Raw as high up as the WM17 one? I feel like at WM17 they had the belts hanging so high they could barely be reached from the top rung of a standard (8ft) ladder, so that must’ve been a good 15ft above the ring (7ft for the top rung + Jeff 6ft + his arm extension).
It was a completely different spot.
Yes @RobertWalsh-vp5ui ! Nobody acknowledges that RAW spot. Glad it’s finally spoken about
This is definitely up there with mick foley and taker with him being thrown off and slammed through the cage
Everyone agreed... Jeff gets speared into oblivion
Nice belt collection
The raw spot predates wrestlemania by a few weeks.
Top 5 spots in all of professional wrestling. I'm right, i will die on this hill.
That spear was awesome I remember seeing it and going holy shit
I go back to that WM just for that match 😂
How do you NOT show the clip of the ladder spear???
If there’s a list of the best Wrestling Spots of all time, that spear is in the Top 5 or 3
J.R. saying 20 foot ladder is farfetch, but him saying Mick Foley broken in half is believable lol
I think it's the John Cena spinner belts behind him. Like the traditional spinner belt.
I really wonder what was going through both Edge and Jeff Hardy’s mind when they were in that exact moment in the ring once Edge got up on the ladder 🤣
Lmao I've always thought they said a 20 ft ladder cuz they were 20 ft in the air
They’ve always exaggerated heights, I remember there was one where Jeff did his leapfrog leg drop over a ladder onto Bubba on the announcer’s table on an episode of Smackdown and Tazz said “that’s gotta be about 35 feet!” 😂
Edge has noted multiple times he concussed himself on that landing, that goofy look he gives as he rebounds isn't selling he's just knocked himself for a loop.😅
Edge is right he did it on raw first but at mania it was better
Before talents were instructed to put on matches a certain way so the top talents didn't look bad.
The idea was to steal the show but ended up creating a legendary Wrestlemania/wrestling moment 👌
Steal the show? I dunno, it’s only one of the most replayed spots in the history of Wrestlemania 😂
And then steal girlfriends
Edge is the most boring talkative dude 😂 but it's fine he doesn't seem like a people person idk why. But that's him
i love it because it matches his in ring character lol
Christian and Edge were the worst part 9f that match.
What’s the most memorable and replayed moment of that match and who is involved? That match doesn’t work without all 6 guys (plus the 3 run-ins) putting it together and making it work. Their combined ideas and efforts made it happen. So what if the Hardyz and Dudleyz had the biggest spots… that’s how they lost, they all went through tables or got creamed by chairs and ladders. E&C survived the carnage, that’s how they won… which makes sense. It’s the story of Edge’s career as “the ultimate opportunist”, even back in those days he was winning through opportunity.
Edge and Christian are always the best part of every match they are in. The TLC's without them have no psychology and are just spot fests.
Edge isn't that good at all! The hardys made the matches they just always let edge and Christian win!
Ew a Drake fan
You sound as dumb as you look 🙄
💯
Your pfp tells us everything we need to know
“Edge wasn’t that good at all”? He only had the best feud of 2006 (John Cena), one of the best heel runs ever (2005-2009), had great matches and feuds with Undertaker, Batista, Mick Foley, Matt Hardy… that list can go on… has one of the most decorated careers with multiple titles including being a Grand Slam Champion, has won the Royal Rumble, King Of The Ring, Money In The Bank. Yeah, he isn’t all that good is he 😂😂😂
