The place where Norfolk and Western built and maintained locomotives such as the J’s A’s, and some of the Y’s. Genesis rail leased the shops in 2023, after NS abandoned them in 2020 and moved all operations to Juniata shops in Altoona, PA. It’s just east of the Virginia Museum of Transportation, where J no.611 is based, and A no.1218 now lives.
