Come on!! Packing was not strong enough? We normally use metal trunks for this type of stuff with lot of bobble sheet and hard papers
the plastic barrel will fumble with heat

Hey do I know you? I've been going to the rock and gem shows for 40 years. Are you going to the St Petersburg rock and gem show in August of this year?
I do gem shows primarily in the west coast + Tucson and Denver. Maybe there? =D
Have you checked if those kyanite fluoresce under uv?
