My heart aches whenever I hear this song. I was teaching English in Japan. I had a Japanese girlfriend. I wanted to marry her and have a family. It never worked out. Her parents hated me because I wasn't Japanese. In the end, I left Japan and returned to Canada. I saw her on my friends suggestions on Facebook a few days ago. I clicked on her profile. She's been married almost 20 years with 2 beautiful children. I thought about contacting her but I just can't bring myself to do it. She's a good woman and deserves a good man, and it looks like she has that and a happy family. I'm crushed.
I have an ex-girlfriend, that her first husband died in a car wreck. We've known each other for a long time, not quite that long, probably about 11 or 10 years. And, I thought about pursuing her, but before you knew it, she had gotten remarried. that's okay, she and her first husband had a daughter together, if I am understanding correctly, with her second husband, is that his first wife committed suicide. Them being together, I'm having a hard time telling if that's really sweet, or really creepy or both.
I believe that you will meet someone out there there is love for everyone out there and so is such love for you even in Japan you can find this love if she is not the one I know and have faith that you will find someone for that is for you. I leave this with you in the name of Jesus Christ amen
This is a beautiful song it reminds me of Jesus and just peace. Thank you for sharing this. I too have lost my sister and I want to you to know I can relate and you have my deepest condolences and prayers love and positive thoughts sending your way. God will provide. I hope your doing well.
My mom passed away last week. She loved creed & this was her favorite song. I remember growing up, riding around listening to the album over & over. I played/sang this song to her a hour before she passed. I miss her so much. I know shes in a better place & no longer in pain. I’ll continue to play this song until the day I die to for comfort. Love you mom 💔💙
@kendallthiede373 probably because the singer turned into a paranoid meth junkie and let all of his fans downs and years of screwing the fans out of good music.

This song will forever remind me of when my dad would work on his hot rod in the garage. So much memories with this song. Creed is one of the true special ones.
my dad passed away from cancer about 12 years ago and he always would say memory is the music and the music is the memory cause even tho they no longer with us we got songs and music to help keep those memories close to us the good and bad if it was int for music our world would be very different here's to the memories that carry us along

Listening now in May 2024, I long to be that 12 year old boy on the schoolbus again, on my way to school with my lunch my mom packed with one of her notes. I miss my friends, my youth and being happy.
Lyrics When dreaming I'm guided to another world Time and time again At sunrise I fight to stay asleep Because I don't want to leave The comfort of this place Cause there's a hunger, A longing to escape From the life I live When I'm awake So let's go there Let's make our escape Come on, let's go there Let's ask, "Can we stay?" To a place with golden streets Although I would like Our world to change It helps me to appreciate Those nights and those dreams But, my friend, I'd sacrifice all those nights If I could make the Earth And my dreams the same The only difference is To let love replace all our hate So let's go there Let's make our escape Come on, let's go there Let's ask, "Can we stay?" (Guitar Solo) Up high I feel like I'm alive For the very first time Set up high I'm strong enough To take these dreams and make them mine Oh Set up high I'm strong enough To take these dreams and make them mine Can you take me higher? To a place where blind men see Can you take me higher? To a place with golden streets Can you take me higher? To a place where blind men see Can you take me higher? To a place with golden streets
Of course you can't really remember being in a coma but i when I was in the hospital I remember hearing this song as I was waking up from the coma i was in and tears flowing down my face. People will find this hard to understand and believe but I saw heaven and I saw God and the stories we've all been told about what heaven looks like and how it'll be up there is real and true.
Y'know what, although Creed is often villified for their hard rock, a lot of people who don't like Creed have pointed out that Higher is their best song. And they're right!
This song is pure power and emotion rolled into a glorious rock n roll noise festival. I don't care if they're Christians or not(if so,stand up for what you believe in,that's great.)It totally rocks!

As an atheist, I always have and always will love Creed. They fuckin' rock and i will defend them 'til the day i die. People talk shit on them because of they kinda contradicted their message with drug abuse. Regardless, Tremonti has some legendary riffs and Scott is an amazing frontman. It doesn't matter where you're from or what your religious beliefs are. Good music is good music. Everyone stand together while believing (or not believing) and blast Creed!
It's not religious it's a song it's actually very festive in its approach it's more like native American around the fire smoking the weed out of a peace pipe which we now see as the first man made bong of humanity

Lyrics
When dreaming
I'm guided to another world
Time and time again
At sunrise I fight to stay asleep
Because I don't want to leave
The comfort of this place
Cause there's a hunger,
A longing to escape
From the life I live
When I'm awake
So let's go there
Let's make our escape
Come on, let's go there
Let's ask, "Can we stay?"
Can you take me higher?
To a place where blind men see
Can you take me higher?
To a place with golden streets
Although I would like
Our world to change
It helps me to appreciate
Those nights and those dreams
But, my friend,
I'd sacrifice all those nights
If I could make the Earth
And my dreams the same
The only difference is
To let love replace all our hate
So let's go there
Let's make our escape
Come on, let's go there
Let's ask, "Can we stay?"
Can you take me higher?
To a place where blind men see
Can you take me higher?
To a place with golden streets
So let's go there
And let's go there
Come on, let's go there
Let's ask, "Can we stay?"
(Guitar Solo)
Up high I feel like I'm alive
For the very first time
Set up high I'm strong enough
To take these dreams and make them mine
Oh
Set up high I'm strong enough
To take these dreams and make them mine
Can you take me higher?
To a place where blind men see
Can you take me higher?
To a place with golden streets
Can you take me higher?
To a place where blind men see
Can you take me higher?
To a place with golden streets
