2010 Lin Dan was still the best player in the world but I think it was his worst form during his prime. He did win the AG but inexplicably lost in the QF of the WC. When compared to 09 and 2011, 2010 for me definitely stands out as his slump year. But a lot of that can be attributed to his change of styles starting from 2010 so it is fair to say it was his transition period.
@@eclipse1161 He did win his first Badminton Asia Championships and also Asian Games in 2010. It's pretty crazy that from 2006-2013 he either won a WC or Olympic Gold every single year except for 2010.
@@eclipse1161But for me the 2010 Thomas Cup remains one of the only two tournaments where Lin Dan plays godlike badminton. The only other tournament was 2008 Olympics.
@@TPTurkey-x2i Yup, that Asian Games title made him the second player after Taufik to achieve the badminton grand slam (world championship + world cup + Olympics + Asian Games)
That's the beauty of sport, you might have an off day while your opponent play amazing. I am certain if they play each other 10 days in a row, LD would probably win 8 our of 10.
The amount of sharpness are insane tho
09 and 10 most spectacular form of Lindan

Park sung hwan defeated Lin Dan 4 times in the period 2007-2010. Not easy to underestimate this player =)))
@@thelamnguyen8675 I still remember the days when Korean media marketed him as the "Lin Dan killer"😂
