Was talking to a guy at the liberty travel plaza in Avis the other day. Told me about these trucks. Shown me.some pictures of your builds. Fantastic work
Would have loved to been apart of those times. I’m in my mid 20’s and only been driving for about 4-5 years running a variety between detriots Cummins and cats. All the detriots and Cummins were deleted and hauled ass. The cat was a 3406 in a 94 Pete with over a million miles that would bust a pick up trucks ass in a heartbeat until it finally started consuming itself so I sold it. With diesel and gasoline engines starting to become a thing of the past I really wish I could have been born in a earlier generation.
My dream is to have 4 trucks, one powered by a Cummins KTA19, one with a 3408CAT, and a Mack Superliner with a 998 V8, and then for fuel mileage maybe a Detroit series 60.
If I have to Pick Between a 3406A or B and a Big Cam Cummins 1, 2, 3, 4, it’s the 3406 ALL Day, but if I have to Pick Between a 3408 and a KTA Cummins, it’s the KTA ALL Day! I would like to know what the Transmission is in The KTA Long Hood that Pulled Out, as well as what the Other Trucks have in them. I Remember the Dark Blue Long Hood ran down the road for a while Pulling a Dark Blue Reefer, and I believe he also Pulled a Curtain Side for Rollin Transport out of Wisconsin for a little while to.
I'll take a Cat C-18 any day to this poorly set up dirty as a tire fire bitch. The C-18 idles smoothly, runs clean and outpowers this dinosaur. By the way, if you really want to see how a KTA-1150 is supposed to run just look up a video on a Big Bud - I guess farmers know how to make it run good.
Absolutely beautiful KWs!!! Thanks for keeping those classics alive!!
Nothing will ever ever beat the Lope of a KTA Cummins...
