I've been out of farming for years ,but it's in my blood, it's good to see a farmer who uses good reliable machinery, the combine we had was an old Massey Harris, then we got a Massey 780 special ,the farmer always ran the farm on a false economy, an agriculture contractor once said, " no matter how well the machine is working ,once the warranty runs out get rid of it" . I'm interested to know how much acreage you put through your combine as it's a huge investment , great video , all the very best you've stated something now ,fan will be expecting a video every week good luck. Kind regards Kevin Fox,Essex
That is a seriously impressive header. Looking forward to seeing that one working! Hope you enjoy the trip down here to sunny Devon! You are only a few miles from us to the factory!
Your farmyard is heaven, loads of excavators, forklifts, tractors and trucks, farming today is much more interesting than in past years...more like a construction site kit....
Congratulations on reaching 15K subscribers Olly, doesn’t surprise me at all - superb, honest content every single day! Quiz question too hard today. Still strong 97%
Just watch if you are towing the header behind the combine as you will be over the UK maximum permissable length of 16.5m. Know a couple of people/dealers who have been stopped by vosa and it can affect the hgv operators license if the firm holds one. We tow our 12m behind a tractor on roads and only around the fen droves behind the combine.
Amazing bit of kit there! The technology on the headers now is a massive improvement. But do agree about those panels, they look flimsy and will make noise when running. Strips of rubber as a cure?
That is a massive header. It will take a bit of watching. Best of luck with it. You will get through some stuff with it. I guess there is 123 knife section on the header. I’m 100% today. Thanks for the videos look forward to them every evening when I sit down with a cup of tea ☕️
Just thinking back to the 80s, four combines, a JD 1085, 985 and two NH8080s powering through the fields around us, and here we are now one combine not only able to replace all four machines but with bundles of capacity to spare.
Cracking looking header and I remember the days of a 10 or 12 foot header. No cab and my cousin having a shot gun and bagging a few rabbits when he combined lol and 100% today
WOW what a header, soon cover the ground with that. I recon there ars 165 sections on the knife. The rattle you are worried about wont last long once the gap is filled with dust and debris.
Def was rubbers on our 1230 think will need something or will drive you mad vibrating. looks good the steering trolley. Interesting to see our 1380 now when it arrives. Your course online? Mine is and tomorrow
First new combine I drove was a Claas Senator 70 (no cab), i was 17 and thought it was huge with its 12 foot header. I remember it arriving by truck, both the combine and header(turned long ways on the front swan neck) on the same load.
Said to myself when the header was coming off the trailer that the header trailer looked impressive, seen a lot of header trailers and that new one definitely looks to be well built and well thought out..
Header looks very impressive! I'll have to try and see it in use since I can remember seeing my first 30ft header about 25yrs ago and thinking it was huge. I'd guess each knife section is about 3" wide so that's 4 per foot and therefore about 164 knife sections on yours!
The farm I'm working at for harvest has got a brand new lexion 7500 with a convio flex head but we have been told the header might not arrive in time for the start of harvest which is disappointing for the amount of money you pay!
Did you consider a Mac Don header or was it always going to be Claas. Best of luck wit it. All people in your yard will need shades wit all the shiny new metal 😃😃🚜🚜🤠👍
That header is an impressive bit of kit squire. However, l agree with you that Claas appear to be making stuff thinner or not as well designed. And thats a shame because Claas in my opinion have been the bench mark in harvesting machinery for decades.
Don't know what they're like for turning or the rest of it but when not moving far or fast I quite like the look of the integrated trailer system like the MacDons. But then I'm a sheep farmer so about as close as I get is seeing our neighbours go past but then seeing our lane is only 2.8m wide think we'd struggle getting a combine down it though our neighbour can struggle enough with theirs on the wider roads that only narrow up to 3m
Gordon Bennett, that is huge. Makes our 18ft header on the Deutz Star Liner look minute. Quiz, say 180 blades? The grandsons will love this vlog Thank you Olly. Take care.
Some serious engineering gone in to that header & trailer which suggest's, you need to find that damage fairy, stamp on it, or pull it's wings off before it finds your new kit :) 70% today.
Where do they build the headers? How do you reverse those header trailers with a steering rear axle and front axle on a dolly? Our new one has that and doesn't look very easy. Be better if could lock them.
41FOOT OMG 😮 that header is huge. Quite right to be not happy with the guards they will rattle like mad, really spoils a good machine. I recon 156 knife sections. Fly tipping return with interest 🤣🤣🤣, have you seen the video of the guy that returned a few hundred car tyres to the front garden of the fly tipper🤣
123 knives Olly? Or 120 knives? Looks great so long as you can get in all gateways. You'll have to show a bit more come harvest not just short clips. 😉
12.3M is 484 inches so if the knifes are 2 or 3 inches wide then that makes it 242 or 161 knifes but if we say there's 4 to 6 inches lost then that's either 236 or 155 knifes... I'm going lower at 155

Most of the dry land hay here is either going to have 1 crappy crop or no crop because it is very dry and supper hot. It is going to be 37 this week.
Congrats on the new combine. Can't wait to see the new header in action.

Can’t wait to see the combine in action that’s a beast of a header

40ft header and 40ft drill. Can’t be anyone with bigger kit than that in Lancashire? Impressive stuff.
Congratulations on finally getting the header. Great progress!
Many many many knives. Header looks smart. Another great set of videos this week. Keep safe
Thanks
Hi Olly I just wanted to let you know that I love the videos and keep up the good work and I’m 100%

Congratulations Olly on 15k and the new header it looks amazing looking forward to seeing it in operation. 👍
Lovely looking header, ought to cover the acres pretty swift with that! Possibly 210 sections🤷♂️ guessing about 5 per foot?
👍🏻

@@OllyBlogsAgricontractfarmer is it a single knife or split in the middle and driven from each end?
Split
The biggest one they do it 13.8M in both the vario and covio, also try tightening the flaps a bit more. They could be a little loose
👍🏻
Helped load the header onto the lorry👍
At Richard longs
Great Video thank you for the upload from Germany

Hi! This video shows how the dent was made. It hit the back of the hgv whilst unloading!
That bed will cover a lot of ground over the day, 64% today not so much pain
Hopefully
Top video Olly, that header is massive.
I reckon there’s around 160 knives on there
👍🏻
Pour un engin comme ça il ne faut de haie ni de portail et des champs énorme je voir un dans mon ceteur j'irai le voir
Who’s the fly tippers. Name and shame them. Otherwise they’ll just hit another farm ?

Yes but makes sence to be all claas
I reckon there is 168 knive sections, you should soon clear the acres with that
Hope so
If they are 3in knives and it’s a 41ft cut my calculations are saying 164 but I’m sure it’s different, never been around a claas combine
Great video Olly header is a fair length all the best.
nice video, will you ever do a machinery tour?
It’s huge , how many acres a day well you cut with that ?
Conditioner doesn't fluff the grass up it opens the grass leaf so it dries quicker
👍🏻
No thanks needed , love watching your videos , so thank you !!👍
Great video!!! Well wear with new header and combine obviously 😀
Another step closer to seeing the Claas where it belongs....In those fields!! 👍
Please keep those "damage fairies" away from it!!! 🤣

Not a fan of those header trailers. Seemed to get more gate posts with the far back corner than with a normal header trailer! 🤦♂️
Doh
Just went out look at my finger mower they are 3" or 75mm that makes it more like 164 blades if it is 41' cut
Are they macdon headers or do claas make there own
Claas own
As a New Holland driver Olly impressed with the header
Thanks u can get mc dons for yours
