well,my reason was different why I didn't make eye contact with someone,I didn't because my face was always covered with sweat and I thought it make my looks weird so I mostly never used to make eye contact,Now I mostly talk with a eye contact no matter whom I am talking to
These should be followed for the professional life
But not with the person with whom you have keep long close relationships
Because afterwards when that person will get to know your real self then he or she will think that you are not the same personality they had met first time and somewhat double faced.
And if we talk about attractiveness then anything can be felt as attractive, every person takes it differently
Like if you are not able to maintain eye contact then one person can think of you as introverted and lacking confidence while the other person may find your shyness as very cute or sign of innocence
So while making close relationships like life partner etc you should be yourself not any pretentious person
