I’m just amazed at how modest Jay is about this car. IMHO, this is the ULTIMATE car of the 50s. The last word in class and elegance!!!

Gotta love Jay, he’s a rich, successful guy but he is also a genuine petrolhead, he loves and cares about his cars, not as a show off who has more cars than anyone but as a guy who is really interested in cars, their design, history, specifications etc. I like the man…..

I grew up with these cars. Fond memories of Sunday afternoons with my dad washing and polishing. The chrome work took forever! My dad had a white '58 convertible. My mom had a '60 hardtop sedan in midnight blue. They ended up giving them away to our church when my dad got a job with Philco/Ford and we got new Fords every year. The new Fords were not even close to the styling of those Lincolns. I would love a chance to drive one someday!

I was born 7/49 married an older woman, 6/49, which I mentioned to our monthly card game group only ONE time, I wouldn’t say it now if I thought she would see it. She has had two cancers, two strokes, kidney failure, kidney transplant and triple bypass. I try to thank GOD for her every day. My dad had a used 62 Cadillac in 1963 which was my favorite car. I was watching this and realized that I had a big smile on my face. I looked over at my wife and she had an even bigger smile. We loved watching you late nights and recently have been enjoying your headlines on RUclips. We were sorry to here of your recent accident and hope you are doing well. You have made millions smile over the years. Please continue the car posts and GOD bless you for today’s smiles!!!!

My first car was a 1959 convertible Continental. These are OUTRAGEOUS wild cars ! The only car you could drive with a window open WITHOUT rain coming in : the rear window had a reverse slope that was so good that a moderate rainfall would not wet the back seat if the window was left open while driving at low speeds. The convertible had a double floor i.e.the one under the carpet was NOT the one you saw under the car ! I guess Ford took no risks with chassis flex in the middle of a big wheelbase unibody convertible.
Mine had black/white leather seats very similar to Leno's car so the design looks right...

I like the Conelrad markings on that AM dial! I was born in '55 and remember seeing those on my parents' old cars.

Love that color Jay! I'm the second owner of a '60 Lincoln I've owned 44 years now and I've always wanted to find and install that fm tuner. Found one back in 82 but the price then of $300,00 was way more than I could afford. I can't imagine what one would go for now if you could even find one!

I would love to see your purchase of a 1975 or 1976 Continental Mark IV and then do a stealth engine/tranny upgrade to 650 h/p with a ten speed auto. That would be awesome!

As per general practice, there were more sedans to go around than coupes...and even ragtops.

Imagine, one of the wealthiest entertainers and he has allowed those aftermarket gauges under the dashboard to remain! I also agree that he talks about the car somewhat in "jest"--and he obviously is not one of the truly educated and historically accurate devotees of these unusual Lincolns. So much to talk about from an engineering standpoint, from the move toward unit body construction and the new Wixom plant, the formation of the M-E-L Division of Ford under former Packard president James Nance...I could go on and on, but I don't have an entree and I'm not Jay Leno.

    • @viciouspoodle5543

Remember, even Lincoln wanted to pretend they never existed. They called the 1969 Mark a Mark THREE not a Mark SIX!

That car is so ugly it is beautiful. They just don't make cars anymore (sarcasm). Such a land yacht.
