Nice! I wrote that song 22 years ago, and it's great to hear you really do the song justice! I made an acoustic version of it for an upcoming record, but I changed quite a few things... slowed down, added a refrain in the chorus, and also has a group of cellos . But it's fun to hear you do a rocking version that's very true to the original vibe! Thank you!
Brother! That's huge! Man, thanks for the kind words!!! I have a tendency to slow some of these covers down & do them with my fiddle player but there's an interesting story behind this song for me. I was 18 years old & at a buddy's house. Picked up his old beat up Jackson Flying V that was plugged into a Metal Zone pedal going into a crate bass amp & proceeded to play & sing THIS SONG! A week later I got a call to sing for my first ever band because my buddy told a bunch of people about me singing THE GETAWAY! That in mind i wanted to give this song what I gave it then! Thanks Denny! You just made my day in a huge way bud!

@@EddieBooze I remember you telling me this story a month or so back on a live stream you did. That was the first time I saw you play it and The Getaway was on of the first punk songs that I heard and really led me down the path so I have to give a thumbs up.
