Tbh Exo is really a unique group of kpop because their songs is different than any kpop songs and I think exo is the only kpop group that have acapella section in their song maybe? and their vocals are no joke! They have best vocalist in kpop such as D.O, Baekhyun and Chen, if you don't trust me I think you should watch ' Exo amazing vocals' you'll lose your mind, i don't lie. They also have storyline in their music videos, those music videos are related to each other and every music video have a different logos which is unique to me bcs there's no group do it like exo. TVXQ was formed as an accappella group when they were 5 so they’re not the only group ^^ but they’re top 3 best vocal group along with superjunior and TVXQ
So, EXO has a concept/storyline since PRE debut. It‘s really complex and detail oriented. All EXO MV‘s are beautiful and all that but behind every little thing, really, behind the littlest things there is a meaning. And behind every MV is probably a long story but you can only make theories, since it‘s hard to connect all MV‘s. I‘m just amazed by the fact that TEMPO basically just takes place in one location, a cube with 4 rooms, and yet it tells a story and has SO many details that are beautifully done (aesthetically & storywise). Most people, even EXO-L‘s, probably even missed a lot of stuff going on in this MV (and in other ones). But not only the Music video but also the song is a masterpiece. Hi! Thank you for this reaction :D There are 9 of them! Not 8 :( Lay can't participate because he's the only Chinese member left and because of the political tension between China and South Korea he can't promote anything K-related, but he's still a part of EXO (He doesn't have any lines in the Korean version of the song, but he does in the Chinese one, the MV is a bit different too). Oh and yes, there are only 6 of them in 'Obsession' (I see that it's going to be your next reaction), but that's because they are at the age of mandatory military service. 2 of them (Xiumin and D.O.) should be back until the end of January 2021 and the leader, Suho is going to enlist on May 14th. He has a solo album you should check out though :D It's hard to explain the concept that EXO has really, it's quite complicated and it started before their debut in 2012 AND no one really knows exactly what is what, because everything is connected, their concert VCRs, trailers and MVs. The themes that are very common in their MVs are: cubes superpowers (I'll elaborate on that later) flowers moon/eclipse color red and masks (unmasking/taking them off, in 'Tempo' it was taking off the helmet) Hopefully I didn't forget anything... Anyway, before I get to the story, you need to know that they debuted as a 12 member group that was split into two sub groups. EXO-K was singing in Korean and EXO-M was singing in Mandarin and promoted in China (2 Korean and 4 Chinese members - 3 Chinese members left around 2014/2015). They are aliens from the EXOplanet that have superpowers and came to Earth to protect the Tree Of Life from the Red Force (hence there is a lot of red color in their MVs). They were split when they arrived and will succeed only when reunited. As the story progresses one of the theories is is that they lost their powers at some point (or didn't want to use them) were captured by the Red Force and cloned, they escaped, were trying out their powers and in 'Obsession' they are fighting their evil selves. Not sure anyone ever answered about the logo. There’s a different one for every comeback, but stylized shapes for E X O are incorporated into each one. They’re usually pretty obviously connected to the album theme or single. It’s really rather brilliant.

a bit of info on exo~ debuted in 2012 with 12 members divided into two subunits, 6 members each exo-k, songs in korean: -suho (pronounced “soohoh”,, real name junmyeon) (leader of exo as a whole as well as this unit) -baekhyun (“back-hyeon”) -chanyeol (“chaan-yeol”) -d.o. (real name kyungsoo “kyeong-su”) -kai (real name jongin “jeong-in”) -sehun exo-m, same songs but in mandarin -kris (leader of exo-m) -xiumin (“shoe-min” real name: minseok) -luhan -lay (real name yixing “e-shing”) -chen (real name jongdae “jeong-day” -tao (“ta-o”) they promoted as 12 members until kris left the group in 2014. after kris luhan and later tao left as well. all due to issues with the company (sm ent is trash all the idols there deserve better) (also not the first time stuff like this has happened, eg: tvxq) so basically 3 out of 4 chinese members left, with lay as the last one after a hiatus they came back stronger than ever with 9 members. suho, xiumin, lay, baekhyun, chen, chanyeol, d.o., kai and sehun. but currently, due to the conflicts between china and south korea lay is not able to promote as exo with them for now. currently he does his own stuff there (movies, tv shows, solo music, etc) but he still loves and cares for his members nonetheless!! and vice versa!!!! so they have been with 8 members as of today xiumin and d.o. are serving their mandatory enlistment service and suho has announced he will start his on may 14th. their album obsession is with 6 members as two are serving and one in china. so for now we won’t get any albums with all 9 members but there still the subunits exo-cbx : chen, baekhyun, xiumin exo-sc : sehun, chanyeol of course one of the most important notes: exo’s concept since debut is that they’re aliens from exo-planet and they each have superpowers. this storyline is showcased in all their music videos (yes including tempo) but it’s not that noticeable unless you know what to look for, also in concerts and vcrs and all that so if you’re interested i definitely recommend you watch some sort of guide to the story because it’s honestly so interesting and our happiest news yet!!! chen has recently announced he’s engaged and his fiancé has given birth to a beautiful baby girl! there’s no info on their identities which we would love to keep that way and by his wishes of respecting their privacy we don’t look into anything personal :)

All EXO MV‘s are beautiful and all that but behind every little thing, really, behind the littlest things there is a meaning. And behind every MV is probably a long story but you can only make theories, since it‘s hard to connect all MV‘s. I‘m just amazed by the fact that TEMPO basically just takes place in one location, a cube with 4 rooms, and yet it tells a story and has SO many details that are beautifully done (aesthetically & storywise). Most people, even EXO-L‘s, probably even missed a lot of stuff going on in this MV (and in other ones). But not only the Music video but also the song is a masterpiece. There are 9 of them! Not 8 :( Lay can't participate because he's the only Chinese member left and because of the political tension between China and South Korea he can't promote anything K-related, but he's still a part of EXO (He doesn't have any lines in the Korean version of the song, but he does in the Chinese one, the MV is a bit different too). Oh and yes, there are only 6 of them in 'Obsession' (I see that it's going to be your next reaction), but that's because they are at the age of mandatory military service. 2 of them (Xiumin and D.O.) should be back until the end of January 2021 and the leader, Suho is going to enlist on May 14th. He has a solo album you should check out though :D
It's hard to explain the concept that EXO has really, it's quite complicated and it started before their debut in 2012 AND no one really knows exactly what is what, because everything is connected, their concert VCRs, trailers and MVs.
The themes that are very common in their MVs are:
cubes
superpowers (I'll elaborate on that later)
flowers
moon/eclipse
color red
and masks (unmasking/taking them off, in 'Tempo' it was taking off the helmet)
Hopefully I didn't forget anything...
Anyway, before I get to the story, you need to know that they debuted as a 12 member group that was split into two sub groups. EXO-K was singing in Korean and EXO-M was singing in Mandarin and promoted in China (2 Korean and 4 Chinese members - 3 Chinese members left around 2014/2015).
They are aliens from the EXOplanet that have superpowers and came to Earth to protect the Tree Of Life from the Red Force (hence there is a lot of red color in their MVs). They were split when they arrived and will succeed only when reunited.
As the story progresses one of the theories is is that they lost their powers at some point (or didn't want to use them) were captured by the Red Force and cloned, they escaped, were trying out their powers and in 'Obsession' they are fighting their evil selves. Oh and some MVs happen in different dimensions too (not to make it more complicated or anything :P)

Not sure anyone ever answered about the logo. There’s a different one for every comeback, but stylized shapes for E X O are incorporated into each one. They’re usually pretty obviously connected to the album theme or single. It’s really rather brilliant.

and our happiest news yet!!! chen has recently announced he’s engaged and his fiancé has given birth to a beautiful baby girl! there’s no info on their identities which we would love to keep that way and by his wishes of respecting their privacy we don’t look into anything personal :)
