i feel stupid for never realizing this lol. I always wondered how tenzin could end up like this when aang was the goofiest in the group but it makes sense. katara has always been the stricter mother figure focusing on duty and whats right.
@@erenyeeagah204 Tenzin is much more serious than Katara was. He’s very much a strict rule follower, by-the-book kind of person, at least until Korra comes to the city and he loosens up a tiny bit. Yeah, chi blocking using the arms, hands and fingers like Ty Lee and some of the Equalists or using an electrical weapon or device like the Equalists is a martial art technique, but it's still a type, kind or form of power, at least a physical power and not an elemental or element-based one. It would really depend on how one would define and understand what "power" is in the first place or to begin with, and on what things are, are considered and/or treated, or may be considered and/or treated as a power, specifically in the general context of fighting in or within the Avatar World. For me, power in the general context of fighting in the Avatar World isn't limited to only the bending arts or disciplines and them being born or having them, learning or studying them, developing and improving them, training and having discipline on them, and/or mastering them. Non-bending and the non-benders may not be as powerful as the bending arts or disciplines and the benders in the general context of fighting in or within the Avatar World, but they're also considered as or to be power, and they also can be powerful enough to match or to even triumph over some benders, respectively.
Korra's upper body strength is INSANE. The amount of effort you'd need to hold onto the ring AND throw a full grown man straight up into the air is unbelievable. Love seeing Korra beat absolute ass this episode after the Chi blockers have gotten the best of her in the past.
Believe it or not.. That's not the actor doing a "Bane" thing. It's just his voice. He's a very good voice actor named Steve Blum. And he's pretty famous for doing lower,,raspy voiced characters
I like The Equalists as an antagonist, as in some ways it does seem like they have a point. I wish they had established a little more what life in Republic City was like for non-benders, as we really only see them being oppressed by bender _criminals_ (like the Triple Threat Triad) so far, not by the government. But it was established that these gangs have been a feature in the city for a very long time (with the police never stopping them entirely, just stepping in when there is a major disturbance). As a nonbender who likes equality, my natural sympathies are with the Equalists.
12:23 well this aint Aang after all. Also from what I heard the female avatars are far more bloodthirsty than the males ones. Yang Chen and Kyoshi were supposedly brutal
I just can't imagine Lin breaking in the temple asking for Tenzin's head 😂 7:50 well, Tenzin left Lin for very powerful reasons, is not like he didn't feel anything after he broke up with her
The equalist redefined 'the ol' popcorn trick'. It was equally as scummy. Scratch that the new ol' popcorn trick is worse. Sports announcer/narrator dude is the epitome of dedication to the craft.
The council is made of representatives from the four nations (with the Northern and Southern Water Tribes each getting their own representative, five representatives in total). So they are appointed by the nations themselves, but they don't represent _anyone_ who lives in Republic City, they jointly govern the city on behalf of their respective home nations. There is no rule that says they have to be benders, it's just whomever the nations decide to send.
@@Pandaemoni exactly and of course they did not represent any non bender thats why they dissolved that council and made a non bender as their presidents for the optics imo you said it yourself they are whomever the four nations choose to be they are not elected by the citizens of republic city. imagine USA being run by the Russian representative, Chinese Representative, African Representative, Middle East Representative. look what happened one of the council member has the power to arrest people that demonstrated against them they bended them into submission they took their electricity (non benders only).
An interesting fact has been arisen by Ms. Left and Ms.Right. Amon says he's tired of opression of benders and such, but he NEVER did any action to improve the life of non-benders. He just hurts the benders. For maybe in the aftermatch just replace the benders for chi-blockers...
It seems like you're tying to connect what isnt there. You said something about thwm wanting the Fire Ferrets to lose so that the equalists can steal the Wolfbats' bending. But those are completely separate events. The Wolfbats paid off the refs. And Amon didnt actually CARE which team won. HIS point was to make a statement. In front of asany people as possible. Thats why his plan actually DOES make sense. If you are attempting a political rebolution, then making sure you GET SEEN by as many people ss possible is not only good, but essential. So thats why he issued the threat. Bevause he KNEW it would be ignored, thereby guaranteeing a massive crowd for him to "show off" to.
Actually, in hindsight, i admit it IS highly possible that Amon paid off the refs allowing the Wolfbats to feel free to cheat. It only helps the speech that he gives; but, its not as if he didnt just take advantage of what was happening either. I believe the paid off refs dontbhave anything to do with Amon, but I'll convede its possible.
Fun fact: Tahno's voice actor is Rami Malek (Edit note: I think Amon paid the reffs off. Mako suggested someone wanted them to lose. The wolfbats were known cheaters. Amon mentioned everything went to plan when the game went on. He later mentioned they clearly cheated against their opponants and used it as a metaphor, furthermore, he mentioned before that his battle with Korra is premature, so he did want them to lose, so he didn't have to battle her just yet)
Korra's foght against mustache is good and all, but i kept thinking that if it was Zuko or Azula, hed have been in WAY more trouble. I mean Zuko can actually fight reallybwell without bending; and Azula's just crazy.
For Halloween I posted “blood bending class” with Kitara and Hama on my TikTok; it got me thinking, I wonder if Kitara ever used blood bending against other enemies (besides what is seen). A spooky thought, Kitara blood bending multiple enemies. Maybe in the new movie. Happy Halloween! 👻
Thank you for noticing the fact that Amon's plan makes zero sense. What was he trying to accomplish here exactly? Humiliate the Republic City police department by showing that their full force can't stand up to the Equalists? If that's the case, then why doesn't he just... take over the city now? Why bother with the theatrics for four more episodes? And if he is still scared of the police, then why would he intentionally warn them all that he's going to attack the stadium?
It was about demonstrating the power behind the movement while also pointing out the hypcrisy of benders celebrating bullies to cheat their way to victory --> bending culture of oppressing others. In terms of taking over he wants it to the the right time when he has all the technology and numbers.
I mean he intended for all this to happen, the council deciding to hold the tournament anyway was his according to his plan. He was both trying to embarrass the police and gain more supporters by making and example of the wolf bats. The only reason he didn’t take over the city right then is because he didn’t have the numbers or technology.
When you know the truth about Amon and what he wants, it makes more sense. It ain't like he knew for sure that they were gonna cheat or that they were gonna win.

The fight choreography for this show is unreal! Also, Maple is so right, when it comes down to it, Team Avatar freaking shows up!
Chi blocking isn't a power, it's a martial technique.
Agreed
I think her point is generally understood.
To add to that -- while chi blocking is a martial technique and not a power, taking someones bending away permanently IS a power.
Yeah, chi blocking using the arms, hands and fingers like Ty Lee and some of the Equalists or using an electrical weapon or device like the Equalists is a martial art technique, but it's still a type, kind or form of power, at least a physical power and not an elemental or element-based one.

there are no representative for non benders in the council
clearly there is a legitimate problem in their system
