How is the weight ratio? How does she handle? Also how much would it cost to do a conversion like this you think

What engine and trans did you use?

    • @GrenadeMotorsports

This was the engine and trans from a 1993 Lexus LS400. Basically a Toyota V8. These can be very potent.

Congratulations!!! I know how much work it was just to get to this point. I must say getting the motor into that Maserati looked like cake compared to getting one into a Corolla (I just swapped motors this past weekend due to a blown head gasket). Good luck going forward.
I also like your video editing skills!!!

Thank you SO MUCH and coming from someone as talented as you, it's truly a compliment. We did have to totally replace the firewall and the floors, trans tunnel etc. It's a ton of fun!

here is a funny story i have a Uncle that in the 1970s bought a old Ferrari he found with a blown motor under a tarp in some guys carport the owner told him you don’t want that car it has a bad engine in it and my Uncle knew all the time he couldn’t afford the upkeep on a Ferrari so he had planned on putting Ford running gear in it anyhow he got the car right and got it running like he wanted the Ferrari motor sat in his garage for years untill he finally listed it on a ad and sold it the car was long gone with all the Ford stuff in it and running 30 something years later he got a phone call out of the Blue asking if he was the guy that one time owned that car and he said yes it was him so the man explained that that car was special because it was one of the last ones that one of Ferraris Owners had physically worked on and they were trying to do a full restoration on the car but some jerk had put a Ford rear end and engine in the car he laughed and said i was the jerk so the guy asked him if he had the engine he told him no i sold that but i may have the mans name i sold it to but he was a older gentleman at the time ironically my Uncle had the mans name and telephone number the new owner called them and found out the man had passed but the motor was in his garage still as he did not use it as he intended so they matched that engine to the correct car and apparently that vehicle has been restored and sold for several Millions of Dollars My Uncle laughs because he is known in the Exotic Car World as the guy that almost screwed up a priceless matching numbers car. and really all he was doing was saving a broken down Sports Car that he drove for years as a reliable daily driver he put together he told me one cool thing he did was he machined the Ferarri Axles to fit the Ford Rear end because he liked the Ferrari Wheels and they would nd the bolt to the Ford hubs so the original numbers matching Wheels were still with the car FYI my Uncle is a brilliant man ,retired Military,West Point Graduate , retired Aerospace Engineer , retired Commercial Airlines Pilot , a inventor with many Patents and Inventions to his name , but also one of the most down to earth, laid back type of guys so he thinks the whole story is hysterical because in his mind he drove one of the best engineered Ferraris of all times. i dought the Bi Turbos will ever have that happen but who really knows what the future holds i’m interested in them personally because of how inexpensive they are on the used car market and i too would like to do a AmericanV8 conversion probably on a 4 door. because i like the luxury interiors ,etc way more than a older Japanese Sedan and hey who doesn’t want a Maserati to cruise around in ? i know what Italian car enthusiasts think of them but the rest of the World goes Wow a Maserati LOL
