You know he's the cool teacher because he sits in his chair backwards and speaks to them on their level. I've never in my life seen a teacher do that for real but damn if it isn't in every single tv show and movie when they're trying to emphasize that THIS TEACHER IS COOL!

I never had cool teachers. Rarely substitute teachers. No fun times in my classes. We had to actually work! lol
I have. My 6th grade teacher was a first year teacher. He was probably all of 23 at the time. But that was the 90's, so things were different. 😂

We had a science teacher like that in highschool. Not "cool" by any means but super creepy would rub your shoulders telling you to "just relax". 🤮

I substituted in the elementary grades years ago. The teachers generally let the kids watch movies in the afternoons. I would read a book while they watched TV. My kids would tell people I read books for a living😂

Cool teacher acts like every youth pastor from the mid to late 90s
"Cool teacher" once came in clearly hungover and sleep deprived from his late night red lobster shift. Said "ok guys, so we just need to get through this one...ok" Grabbed the computer chair and brought it to the front of the class. Grabbed a marker, a long wooden ruler and tape. Then proceeded to tape the marker to the end of the ruler and write notes on the white board while sitting in the computer chair in front of the entire class 😂😂😂. Best teacher ever. Kept it real af and you knew he'd have your back.
Tbh I like both kinds of teacher. A teacher that engages with the class and is friendly is awesome because it makes you not hate every second while a sub that’s like this is just fun cause you can just chill

Subs should avoid teaching in the "cool" teacher's classroom. Those are the classes that behave worse because their teacher is more concerned with being liked by the students than actually doing their job and disciplining the students.

It’s not the teachers job to discipline the students, it’s the parents. I’m guessing your kids act up a lot.
@@jasondubois3399 Both parents AND teachers have a role in disciplining students. And I don't have nor want kids.
Nor do I, that’s just how the world was when I was in school. We got educated in the classroom and disciplined at home, but parents don’t actually want to parent anymore, so I guess that’s all out the window now.

On Monday mornings, my first period history teacher would also come in and we would watch a video, while he rested 😉
In my High School's Woodshop Class, if the teacher wasn't there, we had to get a Supply Teacher (What we call Substitute Teachers in Canada), but because they weren't certified to teach Woodshop, we would just have Home Improvement or Canada's Worst Handyman playing and we could play on our phones
I subbed for a HS woodshop class once and there was no sub plan so the 17 boys and one girl sat on their phones. I think a few actually did other school work. I kept nodding off it was so boring for me. Somehow a high school subs get paid the same as elementary for basically doing nothing. I actually prefer the elementary gigs because at least I'm not bored out of my mind.

Im dating myself but our shop class had a basement and when we found out there was a supply teacher we would all hide in the basement until we heard the teacher on the wall phone above us talking to our school board thinking he went to the wrong school haha

Where i live in Canada we call them substitute teachers.
It's funny that reading the comments I realized that the cool teacher and the sub are different for different people. For me the cool teacher is the engaging one and the sub is obviously the hungover one but for others it was the other way around. 😂

I can always tell when the classrooms at the school I work at had a sub. The classrooms are destroyed and trash is littered everywhere. I'm like, "Nope, your regular teacher would never be cool with this." 😅
I’m a sub, and my golden rule for students is they have to look productive. If they can’t fool me, they lose the phone until class is over.

Had a substitute teacher get fired because he pretty much sanctioned a fight between 2 kids who were having a disagreement. He was also definitely high 95% of the time

This is hilarious when I was a substitute for teachers or teaching assistants made my day hilarious stories when I came home my mom was working and she knew some of the students and they just made me laugh😂

It was a term coined by a younger millennial to dunk on aesthetic/lifestyle trends associated with the late 00s- 10s. “Girl boss”, minion memes, live laugh love signs, etc. All things that could be described as “try hard,” and associated with corny elder millennials, but “try hard” isn’t the definition of cheugy
