I got Zenith recently. What an insane IEM for the price. I also own the Fiio FD 15 and Dunu Kima 2, which are single DDs that cost over $100. I’d say that the Zenith can play on their level.
@ FD 15 has more intense mids, sounds larger, has slightly less bass, and has a rougher but brighter treble. Zenith sounds really smooth through the treble, and sounds more balanced to me compared to FD 15. I can’t really choose a favorite.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the drivers on this set and drivers in general. Oh heck yeah, The quality of the drivers sure does matter. Seems like KZ is getting better and better as they go.
I was replacing the thermal paste and installing two new RAM modules in my PC. When I finished, I felt like listening to my Melee's. So, I connected the cable of my EW200s to the IEMs, cooked dinner, came back to my desk, and then clicked on the video. And wow, you were talking about the Melee's! Cool coincidence. Happy new year!

the last few KZ sets I have bought have really surprised me in terms of sound quality vs performance. I have enjoyed the KZ Vader balanced, ZS12 Pro X, and the PRX so I am looking forward to checking these ones out. Also agree with you on the switches - after a while it feels like they're just adding bulk to the shell.

I always hear people talking about Meles and Olinas. I go to try and track them down and try and pick one or the other, then never buy either! It's cool to hear that there is a set that improving on an IEM that is much loved by the community.
KZ needs to improve their QC. I bought KZ EDC PRO(First KZ)and got a set with channel imbalance but it sounds good with balance adjustment. Replacement is on the way, so hoping for a good set. KZ pricing is allover the place in my country. Edc pro is available for 7$ regular but ZENITH and PRX are priced 20-25$ more than what's available in other stores/country. I bought 2 sets over all in 3 years both are highly recommended by you Mr.Crish(BLON BL03, KZ EDC PRO). I am really happy with the sound.
I gotta say after hearing not great things about KZ, i saw your EDC Pro video and i thought that at that price it was a no brainer. I got it and was shocked, it was really good, got the castor and it was good too. One thing i don't think you mentioned was the price but one can find that easily.
hopefully companies open up more about their drivers and like you said it’s definitely something reviewers need to emphasize more. i always enjoy videos or pictures of people who open up their iems to see what’s inside. but having this info before hand will be much better for consumers. also congrats to whoever wins the mest mk3. dansaudioreview always used to talk about them.

Shortly after getting my Duece and listening to the HOURS on end (love them) i started to get bad TMJ and havent listened to IEM in a month or so. Edifier 2.1 has been getting much love. but i like what you hit on at the beginning when you said you should have a reason to buy what you buy. So many set ive bought just to have not because i needed them and this TMJ is making me realize that i dont need to have every set that comes out lol another great video!
I still listen to my Mele often. The Zenith looks interesting. I recently listened to the KZ Saga Bass version and was pleasantly surprised. For the price, it sounded really good.

KZ made the first IEM I bought, I don’t remember which model though with all the different models out there; it’s so interesting to see how much they try out and what they can do… whether it works or not. Love to see when it works!
I’ve been paying more and more attention to labels, descriptions and spec sheets when it comes to drivers and transparency. Even more so since I saw in one of HiFri’s videos that Aful uses some of the most basic DD, making the difference through tuning. Anyway, good on KZ for keeping it straight and they obviously dominate the market below $50, at least in terms of volume. Good to hear your voice healthier!
Got the Zenith recently too. Like it more than Kefine Klean. The shell looks amazing. I think the switches are meant for catering different listening preferences. I settled on 1110, then never touch it again.
Also. Im buying these. I have the Castor and Castor Pro and those are probably KZ'a best tunings to date. If that tuning is applied to a better quality driver and thats what the Zenith is, I'm all for it and I want it.
This will be another one ill keep my eye on. Ive been picking up kz sets as they go on big sales on ali. So far I think my favorite as been your colab on the pr2.
KZ doing bass good is not a shocker, but a little surprised about the just single DD part, they make a lot of wild configs, but simple is often GOOD. Also definitely do not want to pick a fight with this OG company as you said, they definitely know everyones business. Also your voice is sounding A LOT better, glad to hear it.
A sneak peak at the back and forth, behind the scenes with these companies is like kids at school arguing. But it'll be cool to see more sets being labelled with branded drivers. Whether they are Knowles, Sonion or a new company for all these "custom BA" drivers out there.
Thank you for getting back into reviewing KZ products. I know their reputation was largely earned that made you and others walk, but they're such a big player in the hobby that reputable reviews need done to ensure people are being looked out for. Or at least that's how I've always viewed it.

This looks good for the price. The last KZ I used was ZS3 and that was a relic nowadays 😂 I don’t have the Mele but I’m still rocking QKZxHBB. My fav set for the price and the bass. Get well soon!
KZ rocks! Although I enjoy very much my Letshuoer s15 and my Hidizs mp 145, I find myself constantly loving to use my KZ ZS10 pro X. Believe it or not, despite the huge price gap, they really sound addictively amazing, in all aspects....

I like to check what drivers are used and find out what they cost and compare them with sets I like that use the same or worse driver. Ideally it would be great to have a complete table of IEMs and driver model, to see which combo sound the best. Kind of like when you are speccing a PC or whatever.

I like this way of tuning more than DSP, I like using EQ for small changes here and there but it is best when i don't have to use EQ at all so thumbs up for KZ.
I personally only care about what kind of sound for what kind of price a company offers. Whatever reason I like or dislike a company doesn't reflect on the products. Like an artists and what they've created.
Don't downplay your collabs too much. =) The KZ PR2xHBB is still the best price vs performance IEM I've heard to this day. You're sounding better, so hope you're feeling better too.
Aside from their hilarious commercials with all the over the top comparisons, I think this KZ set is pretty promising. Glad to see you're feeling better.
I still love the Mele. I know you are all about the sound but don't discount the comfort fit of the Mele's shell. Great sound doesn't mean much if you just want to rip the IEMs out of your ears after 10 minutes. (Corrected the spelling of Mele... only 1 'e' at the end 😬)

Mele was my start in the world of iems, it gave me great satisfaction. I'm always happy to hear it as a reference.

It's good.. But PRX stomps on it. Anyway my Pr2 is V3, who knows what it was supposed to sound like.
