Growing up we had our stockings hanging along on the outside of the rail of our stairs. My mom would take a picture with us on the stairs standing with our specific stocking. Then she would remove them so we could sit on the floor to open them.

This is putting me in the mood for shopping and decorating! Kim, give yourself credit… You have the skills to do a gingerbread house and the kids would love it! I can see you setting everything up on your kitchen counter and having all of them contribute to the creation. Also, try hanging your stockings on the stair railing. That would be Really cute!

we don't eat our gingerbread houses so I just use hot glue to keep my stuck and then we have more frosting to decorate with and it stays up for weeks.

I started decorating for Christmas yesterday, and my heart is happy. Being empty nesters, you’d think we’d decorate less, but we still go all out. Our sons, who are 36 and 38 love how festive our home is. Thank you for another great, fun haul! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Just wanted to share; I was watching a video from Roots & Refuge this morning which I was pleasantly surprised was there and when that was done went back to my home page on RUclips and saw this had been loaded while I was away watching Jess. My husband made our stocking holder a few years ago! It's so pretty. It's a "fancy" fence post, with a removable base, and however many hooks you want screwed onto the post. I love it. Ours is painted red but you can make them look like the northpole or candy canes. Super fun. We got the idea from pinterest.

I have a suggestion, why not use your stair rail for ALL of your stockings, it would be a great spot and I think your kiddos would love it!

Kim, an idea for you with your stockings. You can hang them on your entertainment cabinet with command strips and put a piece of lighted garland along the top of your cabinet. The lighted garland would be pretty. We’ve used command strips on our mantle to hold the stocking holders on for years. No fuss and especially no damage. Just an idea for you!🥰

Target has coloring book style tablecloths for Thanksgiving. It has pictures of turkeys to color and word searches. So fun!

Hey you found a cute turkey that’s white so can match any decor. You could pop a plant or florals in it for a centrepiece ❤ plus you will have an extra ladle for the table ( a short poem ... you’re welcome) loved this shop with you 🎉
I was thinking the same thing! (In a non-poetic manner) 😂. Maybe a candle, the kind that is not in a jar. I would by autumn colored leaves from a craft store and sprinkle on the table and get some mini pumpkins and gourds.
I recommend hanging your stockings on the stair railing! We have the same problem and it just looks so cute! we also need to add an additional stocking but thankfully ours don’t match so maybe we’ll do matching ones some day when our little man arrives early 2023!

Every store has fall table runners and wreaths on sale. Use the table runners and put a wreath in the middle for your Thanksgiving dinner. You can add a DW candle in the middle (only I’d plenty of adult supervision. Also, add a plastic orange or tan tablecloth and wa-la!

Good times Kim! My husband put the Christmas decorations up outside while I took his aunt shopping today. I started to laugh coming in the driveway and his aunt says why are you laughing and I said your nephew went crazy, Santa is in the front flower bed. Lol. I went out and pulled up the pumpkin decorations. Love it. He likes to do it before it hits 30 degrees. 💕💕💕

I made a stocking tree out of a post I painted like a candy cane and pout a giant ornament on top and added hangers a signs pointing to different Christmas places. Turned out so cute and got tons of compliments on it!
I’ve been stuck at home for ten days now, so thanks for this video. Also, if you can’t find any turkey things to decorate your table, see if you can find some Thanksgiving themed paper napkins. Then just buy bunch of nuts in their shells and some small pumpkins or autumn flowers like moms. You can put the nuts in a few plates with a candle in the middle and set them on your table and add some flowers and/or mini pumpkins to or around the plates as centerpieces. The nice thing is that you get to eat the nuts later!
Hey Kim, “The Daily DIYer” made a wall hanger from dollar store wreathe hangers and scrape wood. For 4 stockings, but you could make it longer for however many stockings you need. She used her cricket for the quote she put on hers. 🎅🏼🤶🏼

Thank you for going to Home Goods! I was ready to see what Christmas things they have. I don't have a fireplace so I hang our stockings on the handrails for the stairs. I hang them with fancy ribbons and then include lighted garland. It turns out very pretty. Good luck!
