Yes, used to sing this on the youth choir many moons ago. Still love hearing it. The anointing was on young Yolanda Adams back then, and it still is. ALL THANKS BE TO THE ALMIGHTY GOD 🙏🏽

I heard this song today on my way to Easter services and started shouting in the car! My brother who was taken from us at the tender age of 18, sang the lead on this in the children's choir when we were kids. When this song came on this morning it just reminded me that he is always with me. Thank you so much for posting this!! I'm sharing it with my FB family so I'll always have it now. I'm sure my mom will be the first to call me...(in tears) :-)
I have been looking for this for years...I used to try to sing it just like her...whew..I'm in tears here..Thank You Lord!!!..I'm havin church all by self right now.
This is the song. My god sister used to sing this song when we were younger in church. Now she passed away and her daughter sings the song. It was so heartwrenching when her daughter sang it at her mother's my god sister's funeral. We sang it at homecoming this year and my god sister's daughter came back and sang this. I cried so. Thanks for the post and the memories.
My dad is a bass player and every time I hear this song it brings back some great church memories of my dad praising God on that bass guitar. He can make it do what it do.

One of my former choir members just passed. He had terminal cancer and had made all of his funeral arrangements. This is one of the songs he requested. I had to come back and listen to it. It truly brought back good memories.
When I first heard Yolanda singing "Holy Spirit with this choir. I knew she would be a "great" attribute to the kingdom. Heavenly annointed singer with a ministry that has touched the lives of many.
My youth choir at my church sung this years and years ago when she first released it and I heard it on the radio a month or so ago. Somebody else was singing it. I had to find it. Gonna teach to a different choir. I love this song!!!!! What would we have done if he hadn't sacrificed his life...I know...we would be LOST!!!! Thank you Jesus!!!
Woooow I fell in love with this song when I was a young child and am now 40 and NEVER knew this was Yolanda! So wonderful she has served God with her talents all these decades. That's why she still looks so great!
I absolutely still love this song. As a kid growing up in Chicago on our way to church on Sunday Mornings...R.I.P. REV. Edward and Claree Clark my Grand parents.
Go ahead Yolanda! WOW! Does this bring back memories of being in the choir when choir rehearsal started on time. It didn't start when one walked in the door. Just some "Old School" humor. This song has so much meaning and depthness to it. I can't forget about this song because of the "One" who did sacrifice His life for my liberty. Yes, Lord!
Love this song; heard it a few weeks ago on the Yolanda Adams morning show; she was 17 years old when this was recorded and still going strong! Sacrificed his life! Amen Thank you God!
It's 131 people out there who know nothing about true gospel music. My girl Yo Yo killed it back then, as young as she was she handle that song. Grew up on this song and still love it today.
I will always remember our choir singing this song. My God Sister was the lead and when she died her daughter took over the lead and sang the song. I remember her daughter sang it at her mother's funeral. This song is awesome.
man does this bring back memories for me. our choir use to sing this song back in the days when young people enjoyed coming to sunday school and sunday night services. not today.
This is my song of redemption, He didn't have to do it, but He did, and I am so glad about it. I WILL SHOUT IT FROM THE MOUNTAIN TOPS, THANK YOU LORD!!!!!!
I heard another version of this song today on my car radio (May, 2020) and was determined to find the original when I arrived home. I used listen to this music as a young man. Now in my later years, it has so much more meaning. But I had no idea Yolanda Adams is the lead... her along with the organ and that amazing bass are outstanding! This song is a complete package. It feels wonderful to hear genuine “gospel music” that touches the soul. God”s peace to all.
One of da best songs ever!!!!Yolanda is still a Beast of a singer...She's one of my all time favorites.....So glad Our God and King Jesus Christ sacrificed His life to give us Liberty!...1love n Jesus...thanks for posting.
Oh my goodness I looked for this song here about two years ago. A lot of people don't know that this was Yolanda Adams first big hit as a member of the Southeast Inspirational Choir...I blast it in my car on the way to work. My CD has to be reburned constantly. The gospel dj on a local am station Spencer J played it every weekend-we heard it after church or before church. Brings tears to my eyes. THANKS FOR SHARING THIS ONE!!!
This was the best song Yolonda Adams ever sung. My favorited from her when she was an unknown. I can do without the glam and glitter that is displayed nowadays from her.❤️❤️
This is true old school with feeling. The kind of gospel that has you crying in one minute. He saved my life before I ever knew it. 7 years old with my mommy and a truck ran over her car. NO SCRATCHES.THE CAR WAS TOTALED.😩😭
One of the first songs I learn to play. Young Yolanda Adam wailing away, my my my! Carl Preacher on the B-3. What a song. The Lord really worked wonders with this song.
I remember the first time i sung this song in church, I was only 12 years old and even at that age it touch my soul in a way only God could. Yolanda has been singing and blessing souls for years keep using the gift God give you to touch ALL ages. God bless you!!!
Thanks so much for posting this song. This was one of my favorites, love to Holy Temple COGIC Family in Philly. The YAC would rock this. RIP Sis Kitty Parham and Sis Charlene Phillips, I can see y'all now!!

Wow, I remember singing this song after church when I was between 5 and 6 years old. Me and my sister Jennifer would do parts in the kitchen. That was in the 80's. I love this song!!!!! Love it.
I remember in the 80s my mother would blast this and I used to say who is that girl!!! lol !! now look at this woman of god! i grew up loving her voice even before i knew her name!!!
Does it get any better than this? I glad I was young when this was released. This is what kept many of the young people of our generation because we just loved us some Jesus. And still do!
This era was and still is great for the Christian experience. I grateful to have been a youth then to be able to fully appreciate this for its greatness.
I know. why are churches nolonger practicing choirs??? its what the youth had to look forward to. now they are just ignored and forgotten today yet blamed for crime and not having a reverance for the lord. but they arent being taught.
Before I knew who this was, I had to listen to this with my eyes closed 3 times. I said I know this voice. When she reaches the "high" note, I figured it out. This was church. I miss this. It doesn't get than this. (No one has the Yolanda "dip". Ha! Praise Jesus!
As a composer myself, I am finding it hard to luv much of the present choir material. I believe it would serve us well to revive the music that we know has yet a blessing even for such a time as this. This anointed style has much to do with spiritual warfare and not popularity, fortune and/or fame. I'm just sayin...
I love this song and wish all churches would go back to this type of choir music;instead praise and wworship. My opinion this type gospel music had more anointing. Love it Mane

I covered this song in my church choir back in 1982 as a teen. I didn't know Yolanda was the artist at the time. I feel honored just to be able to have covered one of her songs given her blessed vocal abilities. R.I.P. to my talented choir director, H.E.Marshall. He encouraged me that I could do it and coached me to just Praise Him. Thank You God for him and Yolanda!
Every Time I hear this song it makes me weep as a Adult now I understand the meaning I remember when I was a child my mom shouted around the church on this song. Boy I wish she could stop her addiction and go back to this song
