Yes this is another example of why the need for further education, is so necessary, where the flying of a drone is concerned! And if at any time the police had of appeared, they would hopefully have reaffirmed that the flying of a drone was indeed "allowable" in a scenario like this!!

@@northernaudits It is quite common on sites with big fleets. Operator does a deal with say Scania to supply all the trucks. Operator owns the garage & then the local Scania dealer or manufacturer would staff & tool up the garage to repair both the trucks, trailers & other makes of trucks they may also have on site. Huge downtime saving for the operator as the inspections every 8 weeks that must be legally done in all HGV vehicles are either done at night or quite times. If during a first use vehicle check that the driver must do legally every day they find a defect it can be quickly be repaired rather than booking it into a dealer who are all stacked out with work or having to call someone out that is bloody expensive for trucks. Ps I work in fleet management so arrange repairs for trucks daily & trust me a VMU saves operators thousands in downtime.

In my opinion just always tell them:
1. You doing a lawfull business
2. You can film anything you see in public
3. Flying a drone under 250g over commercial property is allowed
4. They own the land not the airspace
With those 4 simple things, they are informed properly (wether they believe it or not, its up to them) But those are the laws and they cant stop you from doing it.

Another great video, NA. Top quality droning, filming and editing - looks easy but I'm sure it's technically pretty complicated. OK, it's reasonable that they should come out and enquire about what you're up to - in a polite manner. But the way they did it was wrong, unprofessional and ultimately in vain - and they made pillocks of themselves on RUclips! Which is exactly what us viewers like to see.

Question about drone laws: is it illegal to fly the drone within 50m of a person or is that just for larger drones ?
Yes, with a drone that weighs less than 250g you can fly with 50m of a person, I just recommend never to fly directly over people on purpose.
They may be experts in chilled goods, but fail to chill their minions.
