In your opinion, would getting my first copy of Lancer Altria be a better option than getting a third copy of Saber Altria? You mentioned at the end that higher np levels are going to be useful in later content but not having a 5* AOE Lancer has been a big gap in my Servant roster for a long time now and with recently getting Vitch I'm excited to try looping with Lancer Altria. It would also come with Interludes, Rank Ups, and other content which make getting a new Servant more appealing than just strengthening an existing one. So I want to know how much of a difference a free noble phantasm level will truly make later down the line compared to the versatility of having additional class coverage to loop against archer waves.
I feel bad for Xiang Yu, his animations are super cool and his lore is interesting. But his kit is just so rough that I can't justify getting him. Hopefully he'll get buffed in the future.
He is a good crits nuking Servant. But yeah... His overall kit is all over the place. First, his overall cards and NP scream Quick, but his crits kit is more suited for the classic Buster crits strats. Second, the fact that his maximum nuking potential is only last for one turn make him a bit tricky to use in challenge quests with multiple HP bars. His not so strong AoE Quick NP doesn't help him at all here too. So while he can nuke and wave clear with no problem, there are a lot of other Servants that can do better than him. His insane crits nuke saved me several times in the past. But aside from those rare special situations, I never use him again.
I redeem him with the previous free SSR ticket, because his design is awesome. This year I was torn between Tesla and LArtoria, and I finally chose the latter
the deck and NP mismatch is fucking rough, but he is quite good at nuking stuff, he is kinda of a great solo servant that doesn't depend on NP levels if the boss doesn't have crazy defensive gimmicks( Even if they have some he has invul break)
Another point in Waver's favour for newer players is that his charge values don't scale with skill levels, so you get access to 50% charge at 1/1/1 rather than the slog of getting a skill (or two) to level 10 as a new player
Yea it really can't be understanded how huge that is. 51 yellow gems is a really fucking tall ask for a new player. It's a bit less so now with the clear prism system which I *think* also lets you get gems and stuff. But man it's rough. Not to mention that lores which you need to get the last level are time gated

I am not picking Waver, even tho I don't have him, imma wait for the Reines Case Files rerun and pull there instead. Between picking up Castoria, Koyan Light and Oberon and having Tamamo I think I can make do without until then.
@@BlazeEmerald yeah if you already have 50% fillers, sure. Still split fills are sometimes worth it. He's basically deprecated by Castoria though I just went through Nerofest challenge quests and I used him a lot along with Koyan and Castoria.
My tickets were reserved for her and Francis Drake, and got both like half a year before their tickets, whats more, Quetz became NP2, so my last year ticket became the Pikachu/Artoria (Saber). So now I have no idea who to use the Ticket on, I have like 17 of the 32 posible picks :(
I cannot express how much Waver is the best choice if you're a brand new player. I got him about 2 months after I started playing with the first anni gssr. I had tamcat and they carried me until Camelot when I got Ozzy to help. Easiest bond 10. Don't sleep on him.
Hell, I played this game for more than 5 years already, and the free SSR Waver that I got last year is a massive improvement in all of my teams. It makes farming way easier than expected, and even with me getting Castoria and Koyan, Waver is still in my team no matter what.
Best choice for new player is herc, max level him with skills 6/6/6 and use his bond ce, you can solo all first singularity maybe even eor no need ssr support, maybe use hans or para or mozart for charge n stars bcs low level master can't carry that much sr and ssr.
@@kars6026 Herc isn't an SSR and thus not relevant to an SSR ticket discussion. Also, even if there was an SR ticket, it takes a while to get him to Bond 10. Yes, Herc and Cu Alter can solo through early and midgame but when soloing there's no need to have your own NP1 6/6/6 copy when an NP2+ 10/10/10 from your friends list will do the job better.
Fortunately, Mordred does in fact have a recent JP buff from around the Arcade collab that changes her Mana Burst to "3 times, 3 turns" which allows her to carry over that buster buff over for 3 consecutive NPs via Buster Reloading
being a Karna fan is so fucking painful when not only does his kit not do his strength justice lore-wise, but Melusine just exists and takes a fat dump on all the AoE Buster Lancers I genuinely hope anyone who has had a character they love get neglected to this extent can understand the feeling I feel when Lasengle comes out with buffs to Servants who quite frankly don't even need them, while Servants who DO need help get absolutely nothing.
Might as well say that Melusine exists and makes all Lancers without any special niche nigh useless. Enkidu gets a pass because he has 2 fucking niches, Cu gets a pass because he's fucking Cu, but everyone else is meh compared to her.

I chose Tamamo. I couldn't resist the urge to gas up my arts looping teams. I'm honestly surprised that she hasn't spooked me after all the years I spent playing FGO NA. Somehow I got Castoria before I got the OG fox wife. Funny how that works, lol.
I’m glad someone’s validating me for picking Jeanne, I have a good portion of units on the SSR ticket but wasn’t sure whether to go Cu Alter or her since I have Herc and Castoria respectively. I’ll have to go back for Iskandar one day though…
As a former whale who has all but 2 of the servants on the list, I'd like to throw in my 2-cents based on my experience for some of the units. Though keep in mind that there are no truly bad 5-stars; if you like a character a lot, pick them. Waver: He will never not be useful; even with Koya and Oberon around, the ability to deliver just as much NP as needed instead of all at once is very handy, and his NP has saved my butt from bad runs countless times. Jean: I still have a team of Jean/Mash/Tamamo/Medea Lily. I don't use it much, but when nothing else is working for hard content that team is the one I fall back on, the enemy will die eventually... Tamamo: Do not underestimate her kit just because she's an old servant, I'd argue that she's more useful than Castoria outside of looping situations and especially in challenge fights. Her kit comes down to one thing; Tempo. In a battle where a 3-turn clear simply isn't viable, an Arts team with her drastically up the speed that your whole team will be playing at for the whole fight instead of just a burst. Artoria: She hits like a large truck. Her kit after getting her rank ups done has a stagering amount of damage and a 30% charge; she's one of the premiere Koya+Oberon units for a reason. Tesla, Artoria (Lancer), Drake, Anastasia, Jinako: 95% or more of your time is spent farming and you don't need gigatons of damage (though the buster units do that too). AoE servants with a 50% charge in their kits are perfect for this will drastically save your time and sanity in the long run. Though I'd suggest trying to align your pick from them to match any support units you have. Ozy vs Quetz: Personally, I've found Quetz to do more damage than Ozy. Quetz has a 30% change, so she's compatible with Koya+Oberon, Ozy has 20% party wide. Both are great units though, so I'd just pick the one you like more. Medb, Jack: Regardless of their type advantage, these two do their Anti-male and Anti-female roles spectacularly well. They'll serve you very well as boss killers if you have the appropriate support (Buster and Quick respectively).
I chose Lancer Artoria on a whim despite initially thinking Karna is fine for Buster looping and I'm glad I chose right given that I forgot how janky Karna is haha. I just didn't have lancer artoria yet, but good to know I randomly chose for success.
I do not remember what fight it was but I remember twice I have gone 200 turns with Jeanne and that someone did the Fujino ghost fight to 999 turns. If she wont die due to anti invul pierce or buff purging it only a question of when she will win.
As someone who didn't have other good option years ago, I agree with you lol. I remember my old team for clearing Singularity arc was Jeanne, Mash, and Medea Lily. This team just won't die lol.

His crits nuke is really good actually. But sadly, it only last for one turn. Aside from that, he doesn't provide anything special. Sure, his 3T invuln pierce is nice. But there are CEs and supports that can provide it too. So overall, there is close to no reason to pick him compared to other Servants.
I chose Nightingale for collection reasons, but also because I have faith that some day Lasengle will have the same idea that literally every other FGO player has had and make her S2 targetable. Or AoE. Maybe add a battery on it for good measure. Finally, combined with all the other buffs in her kit already, she becomes an actually solid Buster Support Berserker.
If nothing else, she remains fairly useful, even if hella niche as a plugsuit "I don't think so" for enemy NPs. In most cases, avoiding NPs is done through buffs on your own units, but in cases like if we go to fight Odyseus, or Okita Alter, who can remove all defensive buffs including super invul before NPing, Amakusa who just removes all buffs before NP, or regular Kiara or Ivan who has a spammable buff removal, she can absolutely neuter their NP damage even if it hits. Same type buffs/debuffs stack additively, while different types are multiplicative, meaning her NP's 50% attack down and 50% NP damage down are going to make any enemy's NP deal a pitiful 25% of it's usual damage. Even if only one half of it sticks due to debuff resistance, add in Mash's NP or first skill and they're still going to be dealing similarly low damage numbers. Since she also gives debuff immunity preventing pre-damage defense downs and death immunity on her first skill, really the only want to make Nightingale's NP not neuter someone is complete debuff immunity, since even debuff clearing skills won't work as NPs are always the first action of an enemy. Just give her a starting charge CE, wait until a turn or two from the enemy NP, then swap her out for someone on field who has arts cards up. She'll get her arts cards out, build up her NP and since team charge is the name of the support game currently, she'll easily get 100% charge by the NP turn even with just a 50% CE. She buffs up your DPS, dies quickly due to zerk class, and your old support swaps back in to keep going.
I would note, Artemis isn't really an anti-male archer, at least as much as you'd call Scheherazade an "Anti-king caster". It's an aspect of her kit, but it isn't her entire kit. Artemis is more of a defensive utility archer with an easily spammable NP that has a guaranteed charge drain, and an attack and crit reduction, who also happens to have a powerful anti-male damage buff. It doesn't exactly make her suddenly "suddenly good", she's still a year 1 servant, but her utility as a general anti-saber boss servant, for male or female bosses, is fairly strong for players who haven't developed their roster quite yet. Though I do cry a little inside when I see her debuff resist package. That 3 turn 50% debuff resist buff seems fairly good, but then Quetz just has that innately as a passive thanks to Core of the Goddess... I really wish the devs would just do some kind of huge overhaul of early servants and buff them up to even just "alright" levels, either via their core stats, hitcounts, or tweaked NP numbers...
I picked Artoria for a buster-looping Saber (and shes evaded me every time I tried for her), I had a bunch of story-locked units that I wanted from the white day and valentines banners, and I had a waver since the 1st free ticket (and a spook like 2 weeks after...) I was debating Enkidu since he's the best boss killer not named Arjuna, but Artoria seemed like a better pick for me.
I'm actually torn between going for Enkidu or Tamamo. I do have Castoria and some aoe arts (Mainly Muramasa), but I also have Quirinus, Scáthach and Melusine for 5* lancers.
As a huge Osakabehime fan and advocate, I feel you're being too generous in your assessment of her value as a unit. She's a love pick in the purest sense. Her utility as a support is simply not all that spectacular and I'd sooner call her a soloist whose effects are incidentally teamwide than a proper support. She's a fun alternative playstyle, but to get any real use out of her in challenging content one must be fully committed to the hikki life with grails and additional NP levels offered as tribute. For Batman to succeed he needs prep time, money, and a bit of favoritism from the writer to asspull his way to victory. The same is true in the case of Osakabehime. Otherwise, she's just going to sit around your Chaldea doing nothing (which she's probably pretty content to do).
I was thinking about either getting Jack the ripper or Mordred, so I just said f it and did a heads or tails first to 10. Mordred = head Jack = Tails Mordred won by a hair so I picked Mordred.
I spent a while waffling between Artoria Saber and Jeanne. Since I'm one of those crazy people who's actually read the og vn, I've really been wanting Saber for a while, but at the same time, I'm running a bit light on stall Servants. Then I remembered Demeter. Needless to say, my new Jeanne is leveling quite nicely.
My account is pretty old, but waver never came home even when pulling on rate up banners. Got him with the ticket but I refuse to let him survive a single turn since he evaded me for +4 years. He now spends his time getting turn one gong-ed until his spirit origin breaks as I grind bullets forever for vitchs skills.
I picked Old Man Li precisely because he was the only Story-locked Servant I didn't have and the Perma-picks I didn't have weren't compelling enough to overcome that perk. Case in point: Arjuna. I've got the good Arjuna anyway.
My lance was going for Bradamante, my heart wanted Nightingale, but my Mikon is Mikon. Needless to say after looking at my NP5 Tam Cat, Tam Lance, and Not Tam... And my maxed out Wakamos...I finally have them all.
I mean Karna and Arjuna are bad but the 75% charge ce did get replaced with a full attack version with illya on it. They're still terrible but that isn't an issue.
I'm planning to sit on this until I need it. NP1 Vlad has done everything I need him to do so far, and I have all of the better stuff. I could get Ozy, Enkidu, or Cu Alter, but I don't actually NEED them.
People sleep on Medb a bit but honestly her niche comes up way, WAY more than you'd think. There are, for example, multiple singularities/story chapters where you have to fight Heracles, and in most of them he's a tough cookie. Who gets bonus damage against him? Yep. Most of the minimum turn strats for a certain blonde haired fellow from Olympus? Medb has entered the chat. Solomon? Bring on the carriage. She especially has a really bizarrely good niche at LB6: Her first skill gives NP charge to fae allies. Guess what tag Castoria has during the LB? Guess who gets forced on you for most of the chapter including the final battle? Also, no less than 4 separate bosses are male casters or at least take neutral damage and deal reduced damage to Riders. PLUS just in terms of raw quartz value, Medb has had so many interludes and strengthenings that she makes other servants blush. She's nasu's favorite servant (or was, back in the day), so she'll NEVER be irrelevant.
I just finished fate apocrypha today, so I had to pick Mordred and get her skin, but it was a really hard decision to choose between her and Jeanne. The fact that she has a costume and can buster loop weighted a little more in the final decision. Jeanne I'm coming after you next year!
Regarding everyone's favorite Paisen husband, somehow I have gotten an NP3 Xiang Yu despite not wanting anything to do with him and being mostly F2P, so the choice of whether to put up with robot horseco-... ahem... was already made for me. If I ever get my own Skadis, maybe I can somehow make him loop with the fabled Triple Skadi System. Anyway, I chose Sitonai because somehow the one singular niche I was basically missing from my box was an Arts-based Foreigner boss killer, and I like Illya. She's nice. Did a solid 400-something thousand damage to a Foreigner boss in one of the recently-added Rank Up quests. No regrets, other than the fact she takes FUCKING Caster gems. LB6 Servants + Castoria + Koyan have bled my mats bone-dry.
I should probably Pick Jeanne since I don’t have her but I can run the immortal team since i have all the servants required but i Can’t help but Side-eye the opportunity for NP2 medb Achilles and mordred
"Vlad struggles to do damage at np1". From my experience, he does stupid amounts of damage especially against gauge bosses because of the art resistance down. And most of the time I use him only when I can use a single castoria. Even when kriemhildr (not sure if I wrote that correctly) comes to NA she won't be always available. Also reminder that the ssr can be claimed whenever you want, you don't need to rush.

I picked Jeanne on my last free SSR (didn't pick Waiver because I didn't know the value he had because I was dumb) and she has helped me win some seriously brutal fights. It's slow, it's painful, but damn does she get the job done.
Right? I think the better word for her isn't "She is bad". But "Her gameplay style is boring". I used to stall every stages with Jeanne, Mash, and Medea Lily for years in the past because I don't have anything good on me. And I can say that while she can't give me a big damage numbers or fast win, I never lost with my stall team even tho the turn count was unholy on harder boss fights lol. She is a defensive oriented Servant when offensive dps or supports are prefered by many.
Glad that SOMEONE gives Jeanne the attention and respect she deserves. She's still the almighty potato that can be a proto-immortal team on her very own.
Lol yep! I'm in the niche camp. I went with Medb on jp, and on NA, I'll be going for Old Li Shuwen. I've wanted him for a long while but just never got him, so it'll be nice to finally have him. Plus, I love his 1st asc look.

Yeah, can't really argue with this advice. I ended up deciding between Vlad, Lartoria, and Sitonai, and went with Lartoria because of Story-Lock and lack of rate ups in the future compared to Sitonai, and Vlad theoretically being able to show up whenever. *Shakes fist into air* I'll get Vlad to NP2 eventually! You'll see!
I choose Sitonai mostly because I need more ST servants for the calvary class and although I would pick Cu Alter, I realized that he won't stand a chance against Ort 😅
I already had Castoria and Tamamo and Waver so I just gave Vlad NP2 and called it good. Then I pulled Melusine, Koyan and Oberon and still have 900 free quartz left over.
Honestly, I was on the fence on who to pick, but then Koyanskaya came the roll before pity taunting me, so I said screw it and picked Tamamo just to spite her.
I’m kinda stuck at the moment. I both want Europa and Achilles. I managed to get Vitch, so Europa gets a boost. Unfortunately I don’t have Skadi so Achilles is a bit weaker.
For the people who don't understand why a 50% charger like Waver changes farming so much like I got him 2 months into starting the game and oh my god even before I had access to the high end farming hell Skadi farming didn't exist yet and Waver made farming so much less of a pain

Since I got koyan I went for np 2 artoria so I can blow any lancer off the face of the earth and she should be able to farm most things not archers outside of the super high end nodes as well(np 2 eresh for the archers since I didn’t get melusine)
I love splashing Jeanne into a team where I wanna dish out damage but have some backup healing/defense, where I know the fight won't end right away. Damage/Castoria/Jeanne is good combo.
I got Saber Altria just because I go more for characters that look cool, not so much for strength. Currently, my strongest team consists of Berserker Lancelot, Archer Emiya, Saber Altria, and Saber Lancelot.
Since I have Jeanne and Waver, I went for my collector picks. I like Greek heroes, so it came down to Europa or Achilles. I ultimately picked Achilles. I gambled for Super Orion, but got Sei Shounagon instead.
I have Ozymandias at NP2 and Medb at level 100. I absolutely do not need more ST Buster Riders. So, anyway, Quetz is now level 90, working on skills next
I've been playing and rolling since day one so I got all the important niches filled, so I'm looking at either Lancer Artoria just for another farmer to shuffle to or Jack because her crit system is fun. I have Melusine and Kama who do Aoe and ST better, so it's really just a coinflip.

I’d argue Tamamo is a better pick than Jeane IF you’ve got Castoria and Waver already. Jeane is great but I can’t really recall that much content you would need her if you have the two I mentioned. Maybe against KingProtea but that’s about it honestly

I'd argue that story locked servants take priority first and foremost. Everyone else can (and probably will) spook you if you play for long enough and they get way fewer banners than regular-pool servants.
I mean... not really. If you are free to play you will not summon enough to get spooked by every permanent servant. I've been playing for 3 and half years and i've got like maybe 7/8 ssr spooks
Going by the spook pull rate of 0.006%, the chance of getting a particular general pool 5 star to spook you is like 1 out of 16666 pulls (50k SQ). So yeah, better to not count on those odds
Having a generalist NP Charger for your team is alwayas great value, that and Waver can still clutch with his NP from time to time with the drain. He's a Jack of all Trades which can fit in any team.
Restarted the game since my phone lost its old (albeit not far in) save of the game. I wound up getting koyanskaya of light on my first 10-pull from the banner, so I guess I'll be starting this time with two 5-stars 👍
I went for Li since I already had a lot the servants on the list already and I couldn’t get the 2nd copy during the rerun of the bird cook event. I just really like the Li servants despite their status as “one-jump chumps”.
If Europa is below the showers due to being outclassed by Drake, I feel Napoleon falls into the same boat by being completely outclassed by Tesla. The only benefits you could say he has over Tesla is slightly more team utility (which is debatable after Tesla's buff next year) and his np niche not being restricted to servants. Otherwise, he's just a straight downgrade.
I chose quetz because all of the other ones Im missing have a banner between now and white day in March and since bazett is coming out on valentines I figured I would cull the number of servants I want to summon for on that day so I don’t spend so much quarts at once As a PSA Achilles comes out again in September, Napoleon in December assassin Li comes out in October, Europa and Quetzalcoatl on valentines and Tesla on white day. I think, I’m going off of memory here. And I know Tesla and Napoleon may be switched but I can’t remember if that’s for sure or not

I cannot express how much Waver is the best choice if you're a brand new player. I got him about 2 months after I started playing with the first anni gssr. I had tamcat and they carried me until Camelot when I got Ozzy to help. Easiest bond 10. Don't sleep on him.
Hell, I played this game for more than 5 years already, and the free SSR Waver that I got last year is a massive improvement in all of my teams. It makes farming way easier than expected, and even with me getting Castoria and Koyan, Waver is still in my team no matter what.

Best choice for new player is herc, max level him with skills 6/6/6 and use his bond ce, you can solo all first singularity maybe even eor no need ssr support, maybe use hans or para or mozart for charge n stars bcs low level master can't carry that much sr and ssr.
@@kars6026 Herc isn't an SSR and thus not relevant to an SSR ticket discussion. Also, even if there was an SR ticket, it takes a while to get him to Bond 10. Yes, Herc and Cu Alter can solo through early and midgame but when soloing there's no need to have your own NP1 6/6/6 copy when an NP2+ 10/10/10 from your friends list will do the job better.
I went without Waver for the entirety of Part 1 and Part 1.5. Sure, he makes things easier, but he's far from essential.

Fortunately, Mordred does in fact have a recent JP buff from around the Arcade collab that changes her Mana Burst to "3 times, 3 turns" which allows her to carry over that buster buff over for 3 consecutive NPs via Buster Reloading
She becomes the highest damage saber if I remember correctly

being a Karna fan is so fucking painful when not only does his kit not do his strength justice lore-wise, but Melusine just exists and takes a fat dump on all the AoE Buster Lancers
I genuinely hope anyone who has had a character they love get neglected to this extent can understand the feeling I feel when Lasengle comes out with buffs to Servants who quite frankly don't even need them, while Servants who DO need help get absolutely nothing.
Might as well say that Melusine exists and makes all Lancers without any special niche nigh useless.

I’m glad someone’s validating me for picking Jeanne, I have a good portion of units on the SSR ticket but wasn’t sure whether to go Cu Alter or her since I have Herc and Castoria respectively. I’ll have to go back for Iskandar one day though…
As a former whale who has all but 2 of the servants on the list, I'd like to throw in my 2-cents based on my experience for some of the units. Though keep in mind that there are no truly bad 5-stars; if you like a character a lot, pick them.
Waver: He will never not be useful; even with Koya and Oberon around, the ability to deliver just as much NP as needed instead of all at once is very handy, and his NP has saved my butt from bad runs countless times.
Jean: I still have a team of Jean/Mash/Tamamo/Medea Lily. I don't use it much, but when nothing else is working for hard content that team is the one I fall back on, the enemy will die eventually...
Tamamo: Do not underestimate her kit just because she's an old servant, I'd argue that she's more useful than Castoria outside of looping situations and especially in challenge fights. Her kit comes down to one thing; Tempo. In a battle where a 3-turn clear simply isn't viable, an Arts team with her drastically up the speed that your whole team will be playing at for the whole fight instead of just a burst.
Artoria: She hits like a large truck. Her kit after getting her rank ups done has a stagering amount of damage and a 30% charge; she's one of the premiere Koya+Oberon units for a reason.
Tesla, Artoria (Lancer), Drake, Anastasia, Jinako: 95% or more of your time is spent farming and you don't need gigatons of damage (though the buster units do that too). AoE servants with a 50% charge in their kits are perfect for this will drastically save your time and sanity in the long run. Though I'd suggest trying to align your pick from them to match any support units you have.
Ozy vs Quetz: Personally, I've found Quetz to do more damage than Ozy. Quetz has a 30% change, so she's compatible with Koya+Oberon, Ozy has 20% party wide. Both are great units though, so I'd just pick the one you like more.
Medb, Jack: Regardless of their type advantage, these two do their Anti-male and Anti-female roles spectacularly well. They'll serve you very well as boss killers if you have the appropriate support (Buster and Quick respectively).
I chose Lancer Artoria on a whim despite initially thinking Karna is fine for Buster looping and I'm glad I chose right given that I forgot how janky Karna is haha.
I just didn't have lancer artoria yet, but good to know I randomly chose for success.
I do not remember what fight it was but I remember twice I have gone 200 turns with Jeanne and that someone did the Fujino ghost fight to 999 turns. If she wont die due to anti invul pierce or buff purging it only a question of when she will win.
As someone who didn't have other good option years ago, I agree with you lol. I remember my old team for clearing Singularity arc was Jeanne, Mash, and Medea Lily. This team just won't die lol.

IIRC, Jeanne can win against nearly any enemy as long as they are not Berserker or Avenger, doesn't have invul pierce, or doesn't have buff removal.
God, I remember running double Jeanne with Merlin. I honestly love the immortal team.
Mash, Jeanne, and Medea(the cooler old one) is a awesome demon god pillar killer team.
I already had a majority of the Powerhouse Supports, so i just went for an NP2 Saber.

Xiang Yu. Badass Design, Animation while well mannered as far as Zerks goes. But goddamn does he has nothing to show for except for those 3 aesthetic
His crits nuke is really good actually. But sadly, it only last for one turn. Aside from that, he doesn't provide anything special. Sure, his 3T invuln pierce is nice. But there are CEs and supports that can provide it too. So overall, there is close to no reason to pick him compared to other Servants.
4th thing: Make Paisen happy. Which is absolutely worth going for him just for that.
I thought I had an idea of who to pick but this just made me more confused and indecisive
I chose Nightingale for collection reasons, but also because I have faith that some day Lasengle will have the same idea that literally every other FGO player has had and make her S2 targetable. Or AoE. Maybe add a battery on it for good measure. Finally, combined with all the other buffs in her kit already, she becomes an actually solid Buster Support Berserker.
If nothing else, she remains fairly useful, even if hella niche as a plugsuit "I don't think so" for enemy NPs. In most cases, avoiding NPs is done through buffs on your own units, but in cases like if we go to fight Odyseus, or Okita Alter, who can remove all defensive buffs including super invul before NPing, Amakusa who just removes all buffs before NP, or regular Kiara or Ivan who has a spammable buff removal, she can absolutely neuter their NP damage even if it hits.
Same type buffs/debuffs stack additively, while different types are multiplicative, meaning her NP's 50% attack down and 50% NP damage down are going to make any enemy's NP deal a pitiful 25% of it's usual damage. Even if only one half of it sticks due to debuff resistance, add in Mash's NP or first skill and they're still going to be dealing similarly low damage numbers.
Since she also gives debuff immunity preventing pre-damage defense downs and death immunity on her first skill, really the only want to make Nightingale's NP not neuter someone is complete debuff immunity, since even debuff clearing skills won't work as NPs are always the first action of an enemy. Just give her a starting charge CE, wait until a turn or two from the enemy NP, then swap her out for someone on field who has arts cards up. She'll get her arts cards out, build up her NP and since team charge is the name of the support game currently, she'll easily get 100% charge by the NP turn even with just a 50% CE. She buffs up your DPS, dies quickly due to zerk class, and your old support swaps back in to keep going.
I pick story locker quetzalcoatl, I didn’t need a ST buster rider but had to get the most elusive girl on the list.

I would note, Artemis isn't really an anti-male archer, at least as much as you'd call Scheherazade an "Anti-king caster". It's an aspect of her kit, but it isn't her entire kit. Artemis is more of a defensive utility archer with an easily spammable NP that has a guaranteed charge drain, and an attack and crit reduction, who also happens to have a powerful anti-male damage buff. It doesn't exactly make her suddenly "suddenly good", she's still a year 1 servant, but her utility as a general anti-saber boss servant, for male or female bosses, is fairly strong for players who haven't developed their roster quite yet.
Though I do cry a little inside when I see her debuff resist package. That 3 turn 50% debuff resist buff seems fairly good, but then Quetz just has that innately as a passive thanks to Core of the Goddess... I really wish the devs would just do some kind of huge overhaul of early servants and buff them up to even just "alright" levels, either via their core stats, hitcounts, or tweaked NP numbers...
I picked Artoria for a buster-looping Saber (and shes evaded me every time I tried for her), I had a bunch of story-locked units that I wanted from the white day and valentines banners, and I had a waver since the 1st free ticket (and a spook like 2 weeks after...) I was debating Enkidu since he's the best boss killer not named Arjuna, but Artoria seemed like a better pick for me.
I pick Medb because she is one of my favorites and also that she has a lot interludes and rank ups.
I'm actually torn between going for Enkidu or Tamamo. I do have Castoria and some aoe arts (Mainly Muramasa), but I also have Quirinus, Scáthach and Melusine for 5* lancers.
As a huge Osakabehime fan and advocate, I feel you're being too generous in your assessment of her value as a unit. She's a love pick in the purest sense. Her utility as a support is simply not all that spectacular and I'd sooner call her a soloist whose effects are incidentally teamwide than a proper support.
She's a fun alternative playstyle, but to get any real use out of her in challenging content one must be fully committed to the hikki life with grails and additional NP levels offered as tribute. For Batman to succeed he needs prep time, money, and a bit of favoritism from the writer to asspull his way to victory. The same is true in the case of Osakabehime. Otherwise, she's just going to sit around your Chaldea doing nothing (which she's probably pretty content to do).
Luckily I already had Waver, so I spent my ticket on the best tomboy: Mordred.

Then I remembered Demeter.
Needless to say, my new Jeanne is leveling quite nicely.

My account is pretty old, but waver never came home even when pulling on rate up banners. Got him with the ticket but I refuse to let him survive a single turn since he evaded me for +4 years. He now spends his time getting turn one gong-ed until his spirit origin breaks as I grind bullets forever for vitchs skills.
I picked Old Man Li precisely because he was the only Story-locked Servant I didn't have and the Perma-picks I didn't have weren't compelling enough to overcome that perk. Case in point: Arjuna.
I've got the good Arjuna anyway.
My lance was going for Bradamante, my heart wanted Nightingale, but my Mikon is Mikon.
Needless to say after looking at my NP5 Tam Cat, Tam Lance, and Not Tam... And my maxed out Wakamos...I finally have them all.

They're still terrible but that isn't an issue.

People sleep on Medb a bit but honestly her niche comes up way, WAY more than you'd think.
There are, for example, multiple singularities/story chapters where you have to fight Heracles, and in most of them he's a tough cookie. Who gets bonus damage against him? Yep.
Most of the minimum turn strats for a certain blonde haired fellow from Olympus? Medb has entered the chat.
Solomon? Bring on the carriage.
She especially has a really bizarrely good niche at LB6: Her first skill gives NP charge to fae allies. Guess what tag Castoria has during the LB? Guess who gets forced on you for most of the chapter including the final battle? Also, no less than 4 separate bosses are male casters or at least take neutral damage and deal reduced damage to Riders.
PLUS just in terms of raw quartz value, Medb has had so many interludes and strengthenings that she makes other servants blush.
She's nasu's favorite servant (or was, back in the day), so she'll NEVER be irrelevant.
I just finished fate apocrypha today, so I had to pick Mordred and get her skin, but it was a really hard decision to choose between her and Jeanne. The fact that she has a costume and can buster loop weighted a little more in the final decision.

Regarding everyone's favorite Paisen husband, somehow I have gotten an NP3 Xiang Yu despite not wanting anything to do with him and being mostly F2P, so the choice of whether to put up with robot horseco-... ahem... was already made for me. If I ever get my own Skadis, maybe I can somehow make him loop with the fabled Triple Skadi System.
Anyway, I chose Sitonai because somehow the one singular niche I was basically missing from my box was an Arts-based Foreigner boss killer, and I like Illya. She's nice. Did a solid 400-something thousand damage to a Foreigner boss in one of the recently-added Rank Up quests. No regrets, other than the fact she takes FUCKING Caster gems. LB6 Servants + Castoria + Koyan have bled my mats bone-dry.

"Vlad struggles to do damage at np1". From my experience, he does stupid amounts of damage especially against gauge bosses because of the art resistance down. And most of the time I use him only when I can use a single castoria. Even when kriemhildr (not sure if I wrote that correctly) comes to NA she won't be always available.
Also reminder that the ssr can be claimed whenever you want, you don't need to rush.

I picked Jeanne on my last free SSR (didn't pick Waiver because I didn't know the value he had because I was dumb) and she has helped me win some seriously brutal fights. It's slow, it's painful, but damn does she get the job done.
Right? I think the better word for her isn't "She is bad". But "Her gameplay style is boring". I used to stall every stages with Jeanne, Mash, and Medea Lily for years in the past because I don't have anything good on me. And I can say that while she can't give me a big damage numbers or fast win, I never lost with my stall team even tho the turn count was unholy on harder boss fights lol. She is a defensive oriented Servant when offensive dps or supports are prefered by many.
How fare does Merlin+ castoria? Against Jeanne? I think it'll be better even.

Yeah, can't really argue with this advice. I ended up deciding between Vlad, Lartoria, and Sitonai, and went with Lartoria because of Story-Lock and lack of rate ups in the future compared to Sitonai, and Vlad theoretically being able to show up whenever. *Shakes fist into air* I'll get Vlad to NP2 eventually! You'll see!
I choose Sitonai mostly because I need more ST servants for the calvary class and although I would pick Cu Alter, I realized that he won't stand a chance against Ort 😅
I already had Castoria and Tamamo and Waver so I just gave Vlad NP2 and called it good. Then I pulled Melusine, Koyan and Oberon and still have 900 free quartz left over.
Honestly, I was on the fence on who to pick, but then Koyanskaya came the roll before pity taunting me, so I said screw it and picked Tamamo just to spite her.
Getting Sitonai from NP1 to NP2 was such an incredible decision for me. She absolutely smashed Kirishtaria and I couldn’t be happier with my choice
I’m kinda stuck at the moment. I both want Europa and Achilles. I managed to get Vitch, so Europa gets a boost. Unfortunately I don’t have Skadi so Achilles is a bit weaker.
Definitely recommend Jeanne. She’s hard carried me for years. And she has healing compared to Castoria

Since I got koyan I went for np 2 artoria so I can blow any lancer off the face of the earth and she should be able to farm most things not archers outside of the super high end nodes as well(np 2 eresh for the archers since I didn’t get melusine)
I love splashing Jeanne into a team where I wanna dish out damage but have some backup healing/defense, where I know the fight won't end right away. Damage/Castoria/Jeanne is good combo.
I got Saber Altria just because I go more for characters that look cool, not so much for strength. Currently, my strongest team consists of Berserker Lancelot, Archer Emiya, Saber Altria, and Saber Lancelot.

Since I have Jeanne and Waver, I went for my collector picks. I like Greek heroes, so it came down to Europa or Achilles. I ultimately picked Achilles. I gambled for Super Orion, but got Sei Shounagon instead.
I have Ozymandias at NP2 and Medb at level 100. I absolutely do not need more ST Buster Riders.
So, anyway, Quetz is now level 90, working on skills next

I’d argue Tamamo is a better pick than Jeane IF you’ve got Castoria and Waver already. Jeane is great but I can’t really recall that much content you would need her if you have the two I mentioned. Maybe against KingProtea but that’s about it honestly

I'd argue that story locked servants take priority first and foremost. Everyone else can (and probably will) spook you if you play for long enough and they get way fewer banners than regular-pool servants.
I mean... not really. If you are free to play you will not summon enough to get spooked by every permanent servant. I've been playing for 3 and half years and i've got like maybe 7/8 ssr spooks
Going by the spook pull rate of 0.006%, the chance of getting a particular general pool 5 star to spook you is like 1 out of 16666 pulls (50k SQ). So yeah, better to not count on those odds

Having a generalist NP Charger for your team is alwayas great value, that and Waver can still clutch with his NP from time to time with the drain.
He's a Jack of all Trades which can fit in any team.

Restarted the game since my phone lost its old (albeit not far in) save of the game. I wound up getting koyanskaya of light on my first 10-pull from the banner, so I guess I'll be starting this time with two 5-stars 👍
I went for Li since I already had a lot the servants on the list already and I couldn’t get the 2nd copy during the rerun of the bird cook event. I just really like the Li servants despite their status as “one-jump chumps”.

If Europa is below the showers due to being outclassed by Drake, I feel Napoleon falls into the same boat by being completely outclassed by Tesla. The only benefits you could say he has over Tesla is slightly more team utility (which is debatable after Tesla's buff next year) and his np niche not being restricted to servants. Otherwise, he's just a straight downgrade.

I chose quetz because all of the other ones Im missing have a banner between now and white day in March and since bazett is coming out on valentines I figured I would cull the number of servants I want to summon for on that day so I don’t spend so much quarts at once
As a PSA Achilles comes out again in September, Napoleon in December assassin Li comes out in October, Europa and Quetzalcoatl on valentines and Tesla on white day. I think, I’m going off of memory here. And I know Tesla and Napoleon may be switched but I can’t remember if that’s for sure or not
