What's up I'm RedFalcon and right now I'm playing Mario Party Superstars for the Nintendo Switch. I might play minigames against the Master CPUs, I might play boards against characters like Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Rosalina, Birdo, Wario, Waluigi and more?! Is that all of them? We don't know yet! It would honestly be an actual crazy game if everyone was trying to get 2nd or 3rd, it just makes things a lot more interesting

I love this concept. Jaymoji did it where he didn’t tell everyone that was the twist until halfway through and put 500 bucks on it, but I also very much like the idea of starting that strategy from the start.
I think this would be much better on the cake stage since here you can kinda just willfully ignore the star repeatedly by running in circles
Or yoshi’s tropical island since you have more control in screwing other people over even when they try to avoid it

I do like how everyone deliberately trying to lose adds a different layer of strategy to the game, particularly when playing with other people (as opposed to having CPU)
I'd add a few more rules to make it even more spicy.
> 3 star handicap to start with.
> If you have enough coins, you're forced to steal a star if you're at a Boo or if you have a Boo Bell.
> If there's a golden pipe at the shop and you have enough coins, you're forced to buy it.
> If you have enough coins and have a golden pipe, you're forced to use it. If you don't have enough coins, you're free to use it or not (until you do have enough coins).
> If there's a split path and a star is less than 10 spaces away from the player/split path, a player will be forced to head towards the star (this rule prevents players from avoiding the star altogether and forces anyone onto the star path when they get close).
I think these rules would really spice things up for this type of game.

That's the weirdest and funniest line I've ever heard in mario game.
We've ruined the "Bowser Revolution" with our adult knowledge of wealth redistribution.
This reminds me of an old Chinese proverb where a deceased father left the entire inheritance to the son that had the slower horse.
Unsure on how to fairly decide which horse is slower, they ask a wiseman who replies that they should each ride on the other brother's horse in a race to determine which is slower.

You're missing the middle part where they started naively by riding their own horses and just trotting along very slowly, and then after spending 3 days and traveling only a few miles or something, they consult a wise man or one of them has the idea on their own or something
There's also a riddle based on that. The way it's worded in that implies that the slowest son's *horse* gets the inheritance, so it doesn't matter who wins.

Stars are irrelevant, only coins matter, whoever ends with the most coins wins.
It's a weird interesting economy in this mode, you don't want coins but having coins gives you more options and board control.
If you don’t know what they’re trying to do, it just seems like a really wholesome game of Mario Party where everyone wants to help everyone else at their own expense.
I talked about doing this with my roommate, including the "if you land on a star, you must buy the star" rule. Unfortunately, we couldn't find a 4th person for this, so nice to see my idea realized at last

The easiest way to win a "the last one wins" is to not inform the other players

After Desbug stomped you guys back in the GameCube Mario Party seeing him "lose" in this video makes me happy.
Even when he's trying to lose he can't help but win. All the Mario Party academy training was wasted!
Chomp Call seems so hypothetically broken as you can always prevent a Star from being in front of you.

it's very easy to avoid stars on this map, making it less a challenge to avoid stars and more of a challenge to get no bonus stars

Love how you guys found ways to win minigames and things but tactically so it helps you lose. Amazing stuff
this is actually the equivalent to "doing nothing", at least for me. when characters in mario party "do nothing" i expect there to not be a result (a tie), so we try our best not to influence the result by luck and forcefully getting a result of "no one wins"
This was great, but brings me to the logical finale of: Can you all tie with exactly the same number of coins and stars?

"You tried to lose and lost" is a powerful thing to be able to say
"you don't want coins, you don't want stars and Bowser becomes your best friend" jokes on you, he already was OneHand

I hope you know with the tree - I don't know what its called - you can actually just do nothing and you won't get either reward. The tree will just be like "Guess you don't need anything" and you move on. But with the bad version of if, if you try and flake and do nothing, it gives you BOTH bad outcomes.
This reminds me of 'loser chess' (which goes by various names), where you have to take at least one capture if any are available, and the goal is to have all your pieces taken.
Also done with checkers.
The amount of strategy that this entails is actually mind-blowing
If you to this again do it in Peach's Birthday Cake in the original Mario Party! That board is perfect for this challenge!!!
Buying ?spaces so you can't afford the star and then someone "acidently" lands on it later in the game.. The perfect risk/reward board!

Could use a few extra rules
-Item purchases and split paths are decided by vote
-if you can you must purchase and use a golden pipe
And while not possible online:, you have to give youe controler to another player during minigames
The most interesting thing about this is it's not about who has the least coins during the game. It's about how you spend your coins to get the lowest possible.

A fun version of this could be to tie with a partner. It's 2 v 2 but you have to have the same amount of stars as your partner or it doesn't count. You would still aim to have more than your opponent thought

Idea: 2v2 Mario party, however ur teammate is on the other team. Each "team" consists of someone trying to win, and someone trying to lose. If one team wins, that team's winner and the other team's sabotager win.

Alright so three people are actually trying to win EXCEPT for one person trying to get last. If that person gets caught they lose, if they get last but no one knew they were the imposter they win.
Idea: if you roll a 2, 4, 6, 8, or 10, you try to get a cursed dice block and curse block yourself. If you get 2 from cursed dice block, spin a wheel with good and bad things like restart game or win next 3 minigames. BUT on every restart game you spin a wheel of characters 4 times. You must get 2 stars to be able to win truly. Oh and the first character wheel you can only have Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Yoshi. And also 3 more wheels for difficulty.
I call it: The Impossible Like Challenge. Or TILC for short
Edit: and you have to remove the characters/difficulty you get on one of the wheels. Hey it is the hardest I could think about

Honestly the boardgame part would probably be harder like this. They don't make it hard to get coins and stars for the most part.

All players must go towards the star in the shortest path, and must buy the stars. Also, any minigame that won't time out you race to the end and loser has to cross the line

I like the minigames that force the players to play and win in the challenge of "don't win". It's a race to reach the end in last place, but someone needs to actually cross the finish line first.
I don't think any do this. Games without a timer actually do have one, they end after 3 minutes and conclude as a tie or whatever

My sisters an i do a similar challenge but you have to always be moving towards the star no matter what, you cant throw games you have to actually try, and if you do land on the star you have to say yes. It makes the challenge more of a challenge lol, and forces you to think creatively on how to either get rid of your stars or give them to someone else
