I was literally confused on what Toast was doing that those 5 words, but then he keeps getting the words (unless he is choking or panicking)
@@Zack_Zander The 5 words cover most of the alphabet, so it reduces the number of letters he has to guess. It's much easier to know which 5 letters are in a word and rearranging them instead of guessing the word out of the blue.

Yvonnes objection to Toasts "process of elimination" strategy was clearly that it's against the spirit of "normal" Wordle since the game is usually about solving it in as few rows as possible.

It’s interesting how the original version of the game encourages to get the word in as few tries as possible, whereas this strat is specifically geared towards getting to word as quickly as possible. Interesting how there can be different ways to play and score the game

Toast's strat is to repeat words that represent the whole alphabet except v and x. This way he can pretty much know all the letters in the word.
it's not just words that repeat teh whole alphabet. it's words that have letters closest to the natural (correct) position of fingers on the keyboard, hence fastest to type

More like it is not finding what letters are in the word (as all but v and x are represented) but placement. As long as one letter is green and you see the other 4 (or less if you see only 4 highlighted) you can figure the word out with those words out. It only is challenging with this strategy IF no letters are green which is not going to be often.

I only play hard mode where are you always have to use the hints and subsequent guesses. I still usually get the word in three or four guesses

You can actually go to the next word, just guess any word at the end and when you get it wrong, it will deduct 20 HP. Might be a worthy sacrifice if you are totally not able to get that particular word.

Depends on if you came up with those words yourself. Because if you did then the other player could find better words or even some word variants depending on how the first word went. And if you intentionally don't want to use words to cover the whole alphabet, then you're just giving yourself a handicap for no reason, because the game doesn't penalize you for using more different letters
@@just_yuumi i think the way the game is meant to be played is, after the first word, u should work towards the guess using the solutions of that first word, instead of instantly typing 5 words and then proceeding to analyze the letters that compose it
@@pescator I mean it could've worked like that if the game penalized you for every wrong word, not just the last one, or for every extra letter you use. But with the way it is implemented the most optimal strategy is to reveal the whole alphabet while slightly adjusting the words you use (like moving the vowels around to get them to the right places while revealing new consonants or something like that)

If you couldn't tell, the five word 25 letter strategy isn't good because double letters and anagrams force low chances. Three or four word starts are much better.
If you're playing one of the variants with a lot of words (sedecordle for example) then the five word strat works because the chances are a bunch of the words will be solvable, which will then give enough information to solve the others.

@@patrick6191 Yeah it’s only one of the best guesses with perfect play. But it’s definitely one of the better guesses.
Funilly enough, crane was not the ideal word. The algorithm wasn't programmed properly, and they issued a correction.

No strat but evon always starts with the same words (audio and pearl) as well which is basically the same strat toast uses but slightly different (and less efficient)
My strat is "raise youth". After that start, I know all vowels and some common consonants. I have a 98% success rate and most often finish in 4 tries. Feel free to copy and improve on that. It's not optimal, but it's very easy to do.
"raise couth" might be better. I like knowing whether to use Y, but C shows up more often and has a big impact on the possible structure of the word.
The tricky thing with this strat is accounting for double letters. It helps just to keep this in mind.

Yvonne's literally using a strategy too, but only thing was that it wasn't effective. Everyone's talking about how she kept using AUDIO but honestly that word is a great way to start off because it reveals 4 of the 5 vowels in the first try.

Five minutes in and I finally figured out Toast's strat 🤦♀ It also gave me anxiety because Toast clearly doesn't care how many "tries" it takes him to get the answer as long as he gets it in the end, while the rest of us are trying to beat our own record in getting the word with the least number of tries 😅 (let's try to finish this video without hyperventilating, haru 😌)
It’s not wordle, the point of this game is getting as much hp as possible and dealing as much damage as possible. The only factor in it is how quick you can solve the word. It’s a wordle battle royale basically.

@@matsuharu145 Im guessing he watched the video on information theory in wordle. By using those words he eliminates or confirms every letter except x and v making the final guess pretty easy most of the time. If it was normal wordle you would do Evon's strat and just use 2 words for information and then guess.
