You know what? Maya’s responses to a lot of the leadership questions - namely the one inquiring about what she would’ve implemented to the organization as captain - made me realize that I would love to see Maya as coordinator one day. Maya as coordinator of the Dolls and Lachanae as coordinator of the Stingettes would be **chef’s kiss**
Yeah after finishing that interview Maya is really THAT Doll, and I’m talking inside and outside of dance. I wish we got this in-depth content of the HBCU band/dance world on mainstream tv, they really work so damn hard to carry these legacies on. I wish more people could see it for what it is!
She dropped so much tea without saying it like gabby did lol. I respect her always, hate the way the leadership just changed the way dolls were behind the scenes. So many great people and missed oppurtunity.
It's so sad that the '15 auditions ended the way they did. People forget about Tye not making it as well. Alex, Tailyn, and Jordan said that it was NOT a happy time when they made the team which is unfortunate. & then you have admin telling the girls to suck it up so they can take pictures should show yall that there is something deeper going on behind closed doors and yall need to chill on the girls because we don't know what they are going through.
Overall, I enjoyed the interview. I love that Maya is a class act and always exudes poise and grace. The wifi was A1 and she does not do things half-assed.
Yes, love stingettes and Honey Bees be moving and doing stunts they are great honestly. I really appreciate for Morgan for all the awesome themes, graphics, interviews with all HBCU dance team captains, members, and videographer. Maya is literally my favorite Doll. I was always drawn to her when '14 season was introduced. She is so just sooo classy and gives off real genuine vibes. A true beautyy inside in out. I love her. im so glad she was open aand honest but yet so humble during this interview. i finally undertsnad all the mess that went down. sooo sad all this happened to her. she def left her mark in Doll history!!! she def put on and repped '14 til the end...

I would love an interview from Taneria and Danielle S. I know some dolls really just don’t agree with the direction the dolls went in 17 but I would love to hear Dannie’s perspective and why she did what she did. Also give her a chance to quiet all the rumors that are said about her. These “fans” drag her through the mud and make the most salacious claims and I understand some people aren’t just some people’s cup of tea but she deserves to defend herself.

This was another awesome interview Morgan! The depth of the questions and giving us an interesting interview. Maya was everything I thought that she would be... Elegant, poised and graceful! She said what she said, with no shade to others.
I could be wrong but I can imagine KP declining an interview simply because she’s moved past her SU DD experience. Based on her IG, she’s really investing herself in the craft of the music industry AND she’s a mom. She may feel like that was five years ago and she’d rather let it remain what it is.

Love her!!! Not only as a Doll, but the person she shows herself to be. Many girls need to learn, for some dancers, its temporary. Learn to move on, and get your life in order.
I love that Maya and I both have the same favorite and least favorite uniforms. That white uniform with the gold piece is terrible! It looks uncomfortable and messy. Toss it aside. Another one of KP's crabs who sing her praises, KP was that captain, period. It was heartbreaking to hear her talk about auditions in 2015 and 2017. 14 and 15 really got messed over as a whole. Maya is one of my favorite classic dolls. The strut heard around the world, the rhythm of those hips baby!!! I love that like Jordan, she loves the traditional doll style. Oh how I wonder what would have been if Maya had led in 17, and Jordan in 18. My edges!

If you're gonna cut a veteran at least have the dignity to tell them the truth. This whole "your score was too low" mess needs to stop.
People need to learn that the organization does not owe them a reason, whether it's a vet or a new person trying out. Its apart of the process. You get cut. You move on. They cant sit and explain their decision to everybody who did not make the team. You may think its unfair, and people have a right to that opinion. However, they do not have to offer a reason or explanation as to why a person did not make the team.

We see this with the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders... When they cut a veteran or new girl late into the process they give them a valid reason.. that's how you have growth as an individual. Cutting people and giving them a poor reasoning as to why you cut them does nothing but make things worse...your mindset is very problematic. How can someone improved and do better the next time around when they don't know why they are cut in the first place. Furthermore, the excuse of "they can't tell everyone why they were cut" is so lazy and so passive-aggressive. Why are you a judge then if you can't give someone a valid reason as to why they were cut?

At the end of the test, the teacher simply says that you failed. You ask what questions you failed and are told your score was too low. It's the same thing here. The only way to improve is to know your areas of weakness.

I LOVE Maya! I really wish we could’ve had an era with her as captain. I know it would’ve been phenomenal. With that being said I’m a little confused. If Stamper crabbed in 2013 and her 2nd and 3rd year were 14 and 15 under KP, then her last rip would’ve been 2016 as captain. Meaning that 2017 would’ve been a 5th rip. I’ve never heard of someone having more than 4 rips. Is that allowed to happen?
She graduated in December. I think she decided to come back because she didn't get to finish her season. She also wasn't the first doll capt to come for a 5th.
Some say that Dr. Haymer (the band director) asked her to come back. Either way, her 2016 captain reign was cut short due to a knee injury she had halfway through the season which is why Maya finished the 2016-2017 season as interim captain.

There’s been 5th rip dolls in the past. It’s very rare though and has to be approved or requested by the band director.
