Thanks for the Riccar simplicity demo. Super helpful and was able to diagnose problem inside the suction motor had a busted impeller blade. I broke your rule of taking it to an authorized dealer as your video was very helpful.
Thank you, you saved me a repair visit! I had a spring lodged into a plastic blade to the lower motor. It was buzzing and I almost caved in when you said don’t do it . I went a little further and it sucked putting it back together but it works great! Only 3 screws left out!
I repaired by S30... after it was all said and done... I had one screw left over and found out that the vacuum uses a pressure-switch in the bag compartment. If you don't put the dang lid on the front, it won't suck on bypass/extension mode. Dang it! Good learning experiene.
Please show how to replace the spring assist on Simplicity synchrony model. X9.10SSKS. It is so annoying to vacuum when they are broken. Thanks to your video I finally knew what to call the springs that fell out the bottom.. Also the vacuum seems to not have the same power to move forward but can still suck up dirt. Wondering if that is one of the 2 motors going out or a belt maybe?
Question time, since you were actually trained on these [unfortunately im not, my company could care less] I have one where I am getting no suction through the hose. Both motors are running and there is no clog in the system. Any idea what could be causing it? The lever to switch between tool and floor works properly as well. This confused me earlier and made the end of my shift stressful.
I changed the filters on Synergy X9 and the filters light stays on. The manual says to take the cap off and push the reset button while the machine is running. I cannot locate a cap or a button. Any thoughts?
Thanks for doing these videos! How do you repair a Simplicity Synergy Kenneth Bank Special Edition when the base tray is cracked where the bottom screw comes into and attaches the base tray to the cover? With the screw post being broken from the base tray, this leaves too much space between the unattached cover and the tilt lock pedal assembly so the tilt lock pedal won't stay locked in place. Therefore, the handle won't stay upright. I can't figure out how to get the cover off due to the height adjust assembly on the other side. How do you remove the height adjust assembly to get the cover off?
Hi there. My Simplicity 30 has started making a loud noise when I run the mail motor. There has also been some type of greasy substance leaking into the brush roller area. I noticed spotting areas on my carpet and turned the vacuum over and there seemed to be a build up on the roller and the plate that holds it in place around the roller. Do you know what the problem is? I am trying to decide if I should take this in for service or just get a new one. It is only seven years old. Thanks
I have this exact vacuum. Recently, when I vacuum for more than five or more minutes I start to smell a burning smell. I took the filter off. It's pretty dirty. Could that be the problem? Vacuum not getting enough air might cause the motor to overheat?
Thanks for the video. I am trying to find out why after taking our s30pet to a Simplicity (authorize) dealer and after a cleaning and replacement roller, why it just screams loud when we activate the roller? The dealer said it is because of the new brushes cause it to be louder. But it is way more than that, I mean it is way louder than when it was new. It sounds like the motor is about to blow. I was watching your video to see if I could some way to fix it. But listening to you it should not be done without a qualified tech. We don’t have any around us (44077) other than the guy I mentioned, and he don’t seem to be capable or willing to fix it. Any thoughts? I would appreciate any ideas.
ShrinkDavid 1982 both motors are weak separately but together they provide a decent clean. I agree though, my Miele on the lowest power setting has twice the power the simplicity has while just using the clean air tool function. But when in floor mode it does clean very well.

Helping out at my wife's vacuum store and had to replace the rocker switch on an R30. This video was AWESOME! Thanks.
Wow, OMG, THICC wires, and quality!

I hope I get to demo one of these next Monday 😁
Ooh yes please! Forgot you were in 'Murcia!
I hope so too. Hope you can get to an Aerus dealer.
Looks like an Oldsmobile Aurora
Given all of the wiring, you would think that these vacuums would come with a diagnostic hookup similar to what is on cars these days.

What about just replacing the belt?

So how exactly, do you get the top off?
I have found the bypass motor on my tandem air Maytag to have pretty weak suction, at least through the hose. Sort of defeats the purpose.

Great video! You saved me
