I actually kind of love them, love that they went with the original face Sculpt. The quality even seems better then Barbie, the clothes look great.

Here in Brazil Sindy turned into a doll named Susi and she was very popular beforr Barbie arrived here. She is still being produced since the 60s/70s, there are even new collectables of her and reproductions. She is amazing and so pretty. They've always mostly kept the original face skulpt and we also had a black version named Adunis. Very pretty. Look it up

Joey, I'm so happy for you that you got a free PR package! Well done! I'm in the US and somehow I managed to thrift an original style ballerina Sindy a year or so ago. I love how the new Sindys have returned to the original face sculpt, but with updated hair. 😊 I think my favorites are the candy cafe and the girl with the long braids and "dungarees" (overalls, as we call them). All the box playsets are awesome. Great video! 💖

Here in Italy we never had Sindy dolls, but we have Tanya, the Italian fashion doll, she too has always been considered a cheaper alternative to Barbie
But in 2020 she had a reboot too, with a new face, good quality, super soft hair and articulated knees, and cute fashions
These new Sindy dolls are so adorable and amazing quality, definitely 100 times better than current Barbie

It is so good to see dolls with beautifully made quality clothes again, with actual layers and real accents like frills instead of the 'Hey, lets just print an image onto fabric' cheap option. I loved my Sindy dolls, especially that they had a more 'natural' look in body sculpt and foot shape. Growing up in the 90's I think we had the best quality dolls. We see dolls bought for my god daughter now fall apart, break, come apart at the seams etc so quickly.

  • @user-xr9kj6by3u

having them get back to the more vintage style was, i think, a fantastic decision. What Sindy has over most of the dolls is their history, and it's great to see them use that to distinguish themselves. I really like these! the hair and clothes quality seems really good.
On the horse, I collect old Barbie horses and I have to say i love this one. New Barbie horses are.....not great... so seeing this quality is refreshing,
I'd also have LOVED the makeshift accessories and stuff that can be made from the packaging as a kid! I loved using up everything i could to turn into a toy, and i appreciate them using the packaging not just as something you toss away but as something you can keep playing with.
All in all, really pleasantly surprised with this!

I was a kid in Canada in the 70s and 80s. We had some Sindy products available, and I had the cardboard dollhouse, which I loved. I also had a Sindy doll or two, but I always preferred the more grown-up, glam look of Barbie. For younger kids, or someone who likes a sweeter look, these new Sindy dolls look great. It’s also nice to see dolls dressed more like kids. I like MGA dolls, but I think variety and options are good.

Being a kid of the eighties, Pedigree Sindy was my childhood doll. I now have over twenty and most have been re-rooted by me, dressed to impress in costumes I have made. I loved her and prefered her to Barbie. At that time she was released by Marx toys in the US, that was when she tried to break into the market. When I grew older, Sindy was bought by Hasbro and I hated that version, because it was a cheap version of Barbie. The new version I have three, I do like though I would like modern versions of her furniture which was always epic. My favourite is the vlogger.

I remember going to the toy shop and buying her furniture. I am from Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺 I also collect barbie and Mary quant dolls and furniture. I was so excited to get a McDonald’s Sindy in a brown uniform just like the one I wore when I worked there.

Sindy came in Greece the year 1989. This doll had fanatic young consumers. It coasted 10 to 13 euros the 90s period whereas Barbie's price approximately was 15 euros. The year 1996, suddenly sindy disappeared from the store shelves.

I'm totally impressed with the new Sindy line and its interesting focus on sustainable accessories, going for wood cardboard, metal, any rather than keep making plastic. The horse is resin, the tackle and the saddle are leather held with steel rivets and chains with metal stirrups. Using real mirrors and generally modelling in a finer scale. Great!

They are so adorable, admired u so much. My mom bought me my 1st Sindy from a neighborhood store in '71 or '72, 'cos I ran out from the class crying when she picked me up from school. The lady boss told my mom Barbie's knees could be bent in 3 claps and Sindy's could be bent in 2 claps. Mom then bought me Sindy + her 2 seats white sofa to stop my crying. I looked into the photos of the sofa box, 1 shown Sindy in the bathroom & wrapped her body with a towel and I asked my mom was she a teddy girl. Years later, I had my 2nd Sindy of Royal Occasion 'cos she looked like Audrey Hepburn in My Fair Lady. I always find Barbie is more Hollywood's vibe and Sindy is very Brit's flair. Pedigree made the surrounding of Sindy more realistic than Mattel made Barbie.

I loved how I could move and pose her better than my Barbies. I really wanted some of the playsets that were more realistically looking than the Barbie furniture but didn't get those. I now assume it was a matter of cost not my folks being mean to me.

I had the house and furniture and everything but my parents skipped it all without telling me when they retired and downsized. I have some of the re-release 6 inch Sindy's from the early 2000's and I bought one of the high quality ones that were brought out in 2020, but they were £70 each. Also have the new stylist Sindy with the pink hair. I think its a reaction from my parents chucking all my Sindy's and her stuff into the tip 😡🤬, I've never got over it (Fumming)

Old sindy dolls looks like Old Susi dolls (from brazil). I wish you could make a video talking about dolls from different countrys! For example:
    Korea: Ddung or Pullip
    Chine: Kurhn or Tang Kou
    Brazil: Susy or Eliana/Xuxa dolls
    Italy: Tanya or Ellen
    Japan: Azone or Momoko
    IT WOULD BE SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO COOL!
    Love your videos

There was an American version of Sindy and her name was Tammy. She was released in 1962, a year earlier and she had straight legs then. It would be 2 years later that Tammy had bendable legs. Tammy shared the same motto with Sindy: "The Doll You Love To Dress". Unlike Sindy, Tammy's career was very short-lived as Ideal the toy company ceased to create more Tammy dolls in 1966.

The original Sindy from the 60's was called Tammy in the US. I think they were made by different companies but they were essentially identical in size, shape, head mold, etc. Tammy in the US was given a family, with a younger sister, Pepper, a brother, mother and father. Tammy's clothing was more Preppy than Barbie's and much less glamorous, She was more the schoolgirl than supermodel. I had a Tammy and loved her, in addition to my Barbies.

In this 2022 series of Sindy, I love the Ballet Studio and Riding Club the most. Welcome the comeback of Pedigree. Hoping they'll soon produce one with the theme of Royal Occasion again and her surrounding around the Brit's culture, liked Brideshead Revisited.

Shoot, I want them. Maybe I can find a UK friend and doll swap with dolls you can only get in the US. The sets are really cute, and the outfit quality is amazing! Just an adorable doll all around. I'm not sure if I'm in love with the face but it's got a retro charm to it that absolutely works. Did Sindy ever have boy dolls? I prefer those, so I'm a bit curious if it's a possibility down the line with this reboot.
Oh wow, the website has downloadables for more playsets! I would have been so thrilled with this as a kid!

i had 2 Sindy dolls in the 80s made by Pedigree. Dont have them anymore but do have the catalogue that I used to pore over. The new ones look very similar, maybe not as thick legged or rubbery

Can we just appreciate the fact that Sindy and her horse are better scaled than Barbie has ever been with her horses? As someone who loves horses and is frustrated that none of the horses scale well to dolls, this makes me excessively happy. I think that the Sindy dolls are absolutely adorable. I didn't know about her growing up, but I can see how that wedding doll would become and issue with Mattel. Thank for sharing this incredible haul with us.

Sindy is my favourite, my first doll was one you could push a “highlight” plug into her hair and you could wear the other hair as clips.
My mum got the ballerina for me for Christmas and surprised my young daughter with the pet parlour doll.
Unfortunately pet parlour is on the waiting list for knee surgery.

I am so jealous. I loved the original Sindy (she was more of a Tammy than a Barbie variant in the 60s - just look at the similarity of the old Tammy and Sindy face sculpts), and she came with such fantastic doll furniture and clothes. Quality was definitely never an issue! But, she's hard to find here in the US, and I wish I could get my hands on some of these new versions. You lucky, lucky devil!

I heard about Sindy but I was never interested by her dolls because they looked like cheap Barbie or too much "babies/childs" for me... BUT ! I reaaally envjoy the improvement of the new Sindy dolls ! I really love the fact they used the original head of Sindy and they modernized everything with a super quality ! It's very cool ! I think my favorite is the "Ariana Grande Ever After High Sugar Coated" doll ! Her dress and her ponytail are super lovely ! I also really love the "Fashion thing" Sindy doll which is actually a black doll ! What a good surprise ! She's very adorable, I'm glad they did a Sindy doll with another ethnicity ! ...I just feel like she wasn't supposed to be a Fashion...Shopgirl ? I feel like she was more supposed to be a kind of "Disney Channel Shake It Up Hip Hop dancer" but knowing they already did a Ballet Dancer Sindy they were like "hum... nah, she's gonna love fashion instead" ...but I kind like her outfit, she's cute, just not "Fashionable" with the Fashion of Nowadays ! Anyways, all those dolls look adorable, I want a child just to offer one of them because they have a very cute quality and it's definitively better than the Barbies of nowadays (AGAAAAIN) .-.

Ok, these dolls are pretty awesome for kids. I love all the accessories and the clothes actually look like really nice quality. The AA fashion doll is so pretty, I love her hair and her outfit is actually quite fashionable for a 5 or 6 year old :) which makes sense given the target age for these. The ballerina might be my favorite, she just looks so sweet and innocent.

I adore these dolls! Love all the articulation and that she has the classic Sindy face. Making the box a playset is also very cool. I like these better than the OMG ones, more interactive. I really want to get her, hope I can find her available in the US.

Kind of ironic Mattel accusing Sindy of copying Barbie, when Barbie copies literally every popular doll that comes out! The Sindy dolls are pretty cute, wish they were in US stores!

I have an early 80s Sindy. I always thought of her as Responsible Barbie with her more realistic clothing and furniture colors. I loved all the tiny accessories. I got living room and dining room furniture including a China cupboard that is an exact miniature of the real one in my parents' house.
