I love your no shaper videos. They are so helpful! Florida is so hot! ❤🤩
I saw your video the other day, and when I got to the turban wrap, I saved the video under a new category which I called "head scarf wrap styles." Recently I bought a pashmina scarf that goes pretty well with this down vest-cum-jacket I have, and this morning I decided I'd like to try wrapping that scarf turban style like you demonstrate in this video. I got very warm just trying to get the scarf to look something like yours did on my head; in fact, when I finished, I took off some of the other winter layers I'd had on (and went out looking half like summer and half like winter). I wore my scarf as a turban until early afternoon (by which time it was up to about 80 degrees Fahrenheit). I'm going to look at some of your other videos now that I've subscribed and more of them have been coming up. TY. It's really nice to have access to videos like this one!
I agree, its great to see scarf styles for those of us who dont have a lot of hair anymore!
Im 68, and though im beyond menopause, i can still overheat on occasion.
Heres my picks for daily wear.
Right off, i dont use pashmina very often unless its bitter cold. I may put that on over my usual chiffon style, and wrap it, full hijab.
But thats not often, and i gave away most of my pashmina.
So, i use primarily chiffon, with a jersey undercap when its cold, stretch lace in summer.
Undercaps are essential if you hope to keep it all in place for the day.
Lately, because im American, ive morphed my style into what i call, "American Hijab".
I use light cotton neck gaiters in multiple bandana colors for my underscarfs. In summer, its stretch lace, all the way!
And then, i fold my bandana underscarf (neck gaitor) back onto my chiffon or stretch lace.
I live in snow country and having a breathable scarf matters, even then, too! If im really cold on my head, i can always put a fur hat over the chiffon. Looks deluxe!
Thanks for this! I don't often wear a shaper. I usually do a regal wrap with a twist, so I'm glad I'm doing it right!
I love this video. I use the volumizer scrunchi and a velvet grip since I have waste length hair. I've never worn a shaper. I definitely got some tips to up my wrapping game! I appreciate you!
This was extremely helpful. Thank you!!
PERFECT ! The veil is my favorite ❤️
How beautifully explained. Thank you for the help. BTW, you have a lovely face, and I have to decide if my face can 'pull off" a wrap look, but your wrapping styles shown are just the place for a start, regardless of insecurities, in my hot/humid area.
I was literally weeping with frustration because nobody told me not to use a pashmina - thank you so much! I started wrapping daily late last year, and have been using elasticated head coverings, but I desperately wanted to tie my own. Now I finally can!
I live in snow country, and i almost never wear pashmina. I wear chiffon with a cotton or jersy undercap in winter, stretch lace in summer.
The chiffon is almost year round. If im cold i will put on a fur hat over the chiffon, a deluxe look, or heavy wool hat.
Summertime, its stretch lace, all the way!
I love that method with the simple twist
I have been using prettied for a year (the beginning of my veiling journey) and you are the first one to make sense. 😭😭 thank you so so much. Praise God I found your channel. 🥰
I just found your channel, and I absolutely love that you put the links in the description for the items that you are using.
Thank you 🙏🏼
Thank you for showing how to wrap without a shaper. Love the veil style!
That was awesome, thank for making this video.
Thank you so much for these no-shaper tips. I hate shapers, so much more in summer, but I do want that neat and pretty look.
I'm really enjoying her tuition of wearing the head covering, i have always Loved the head covering ever since from my childhood ❤ I have only just recently started wearing the head scarf ❤ i can honestly say that i feel so different i feel so confident so much potential spiritually ❤
So.. any suggestions on a side Shave or Short Pixie cut hair?
@sonyagower1720 Definitely my advice on using a velvet headband stands, but if you're finding that you struggle with the shorter bits poking out, I wonder if wearing a wig cap as well would help tame all that down.
@@sarahrivkah That has been my issue. I've Tried tucking my ends into the head scarf. I only just found my headband so Ill have to give that a shot. If not a wig cap might be the next stop
Thank you very much 👍
I love your videos.
I am an older lady that has always wanted to wear wraps but its something no one could help me with.
Where should I start?
Definitely start with my basic wrap series and my beginner wraps playlist! The wrapunzel RUclips channel also has a beginner wrap playlist that's an excellent place to start! Good luck!
Sarah Todda Rabbah your great in giving instruction❤
lovely!
So helpful and beautiful.
Thank you!
Would you please tell me the width and length of the scarf?
@nikolettschlesinger2838 Which one? The light blue (Petalsoft) is 72"x39" and the light purple (Original 2-in-1) is 68"x23" - both are available from Wrapunzel, and linked in the description box!
@@sarahrivkah Thank you
What can I do when I feel like no matter what I do wrapping doesn’t seem to suit my head ?
I’ve thought it was so beautiful for so long but I just can’t seem to get anything to look nice on me
In the first place, I would try wearing wraps more around your own house. It can be tough to get used to seeing yourself in a different way, and maybe you just aren't used to seeing yourself wrapped yet! I have never in my life looked at a woman wearing a wrap and thought, "that really doesn't suit her!" so I would guess at least some of it is being overly harsh on yourself.
Also, if you wear makeup, try making yourself up nicely before wrapping. I think wraps can draw a lot of attention to the face, and I can feel a little plain if I'm wrapped but not wearing any makeup. I feel like I can go bolder with my makeup while wrapped because the wrap provides balance.
Finally, and it sounds like you're already doing this, I would start experimenting as much as possible - wrapping further forward or further back, more volume on top or at the back, wrapping with angles at the front or not, etc. It takes time to figure out what you like best on yourself, and that's likely to change over time as well. I hope some of this helps, but in my opinion, wrapping is like anything else in that there really is no substitute for practice. 😊
@@sarahrivkah thank you so much for taking the time to try and help me. It means so much.
I just became a mommy for the third time. Like most my life is crazy (I’m very blessed)
Wrapping is one of those things that I’ve been drawn to for so long but I talk myself out of it. The thing is, I’ve seen women who all look so different from each other and they all look beautiful. So it’s like “what’s wrong with me”
In my teens and twenties I thought beauty meant being as thin as possible and well dressing in a less than modest way. I would dye my hair and get piercings just trying to find myself and feel better about myself .
But since meeting my husband and having three kids I’ve realized not only do I not have to dress that way but now I have an example to set. My daughter is approaching her teen years and I would like her to like herself unlike how I’ve been for my whole life. I find wrapping just so beautiful. I know I don’t have to explain all this but idk, you have been so kind and I guess I want you to understand why your kindness and encouragement means so much.
Can I ask you for a little more help and ask what are the top three Wrapunzel scarves you think would be good for me? I was eyeing up the petalsoft. Cuz it seemed grippy.
@@masuganut2082 Thank you for the kind words, and congratulations on the arrival of your newest! It means so much to me to be able to help other women find joy and beauty in this mitzvah, as I have.
I am even more convinced that your main issue with wrapping is having too critical of an eye for yourself! I think we are all guilty of this at times. If you are on Facebook, I would recommend joining the Wrapunzel Community Group - it's a women's only group full of the most supportive, kind, creative ladies. Not only good for inspiration, but to help build confidence and seek honest, constructive feedback on your wraps.
As for good beginner scarves, the petalsofts are definitely high on the list. They are lightweight and decently grippy, but also fluffy enough to create more volume. When I first started wrapping, I found that I really preferred the lightest weight scarves, and the others I "grew into" over time. If you don't mind sparkle, the shiny-licious and sparkle-licious scarves are lovely and easy to wrap with. I also really like the New York brights and striped delights scarves, though the former aren't completely opaque if that is a problem for you.
I wish you all the best on your wrapping journey! Please stay in touch, and reach out if you have any more questions!
@@sarahrivkah thank you so much for your kindness. I have a sensitive head so I’m hoping lightweight scarves will help me not to get so many headaches as I do now with just putting my hair in a ponytail. I’m also losing a lot of hair each day since having my baby and I don’t like all those loose hairs going on him. Idk anyone who wraps and I’ve never met anyone who wraps. I do not have a Facebook . But I’m so grateful I clicked on your video. Not only was your video what I needed but you taking time out of your day to comment back has really encouraged me. I’m sorta surrounded by people who like to give their opinions lol so hopefully I’ll be brave and start wrapping
🙏🏻❤️thank you again
@@sarahrivkah just to clarify (because I reread my message and didn’t want it to be misconstrued)
I’m around a lot of people who like to give their opinions and most likely we question negatively why I’m wrapping suddenly.
I did not mean you were part of this group. I wanted your opinion and so grateful that you lead your opinion with kindness and didn’t judge me at all with anything I said.
Sorry for commenting again I was just concerned that with how I worded it that perhaps I had said it in a way that could be taken rudely.
Thank you again. Bless you ❤️
I don't feel so silly anymore I kind of need this for when I have to go to physio lie on couch to do exercises be examined.
I'd like to try that last veil style you did, but you went so fast that I couldn't understand how you took 2 ends from opposite sides up and over your head, yet they both wound up on the same side? I'm a complete novice. I have rewatched and I still don't understand.
Hi! So, with the first scarf end that I brought up over my head, I kept wrapping it around and under the back of my head so that the tail ended up back more or less in the same place where it began. The second scarf end, I wrapped it up over my head in the opposite direction to meet the first tail on the other side of my head. Does that make sense?
@@sarahrivkah Ok, so I understand now...mostly. Maybe my scarf is too short. How long is yours?
@@cracker3088 It's a Wrapunzel Petalsoft scarf, 72"x39"
I had to make my petal soft significantly longer on the end that I'm wrapping around and pulling to the other side. I think my head is a little too big for this or something. It looks ok but where I tie the ends together is pretty short. Am I doing something wrong? Any tips would be helpful!
Where is it in Israel that you get your scarves from please??
Most of my scarves (including all the ones in this video, I think) are from Wrapunzel, which is actually based out of the US! I always link to all the products used in the description box of each video.

No shaper for me. Barely an undercap, tho its essential. I use stretch lace for that.
Look close at Mother Teresa. No shaper on her! Its pretty basic, considering where she lived, in the Indian subcontinent, working as hard as she did, in that oppressive heat and humidity.
Try flat elastic as a headband, over your underscarf, to tuck your chiffon underneath. Holds all day!
