The kessil a360x can cover upto 36 inch on this kessil mounting arm, it’s the old a360we which covered 24 inch but it does depend on what Corals your keeping etc :)
Good video..especially about the a360x..I had trouble programming my controller.its not like the old controller which I have one.thanks for the info on the par/pur
As Kessil has said it’s nice to know these PAR numbers but people get too wrapped up in them as end all be all. Even Radion has been reducing the PAR output to chase a more even distribution. The blue wavelength is proven to be what’s actually growing coral. The Kessil logic keeps that locked in so no matter how you mix in the other colors the main spectrum you need stays locked in. So essentially maxing out additional colors to raise the PAR numbers doesn’t even really matter does it? If it’s colors they’re not using for photosynthesis it’s just to adjust it to what looks the most eye appealing for your tank. Gradually people are understanding this but I think a lot of people are still missing this. I hear you on the wide angle on these. I was gonna get one but I think it may be too wide of an angle for my cube now. I don’t want the light to go to waste on the walls.
That is correct. PAR is just PAR. I personally use it as a way to judge if the light can penetrate into a deeper tank. That's pretty much it. This kessil is pretty wide for my taste so I switched back to my Hydras but the ideal blue spectrum on this light is really all corals need to grow. Thank you for sharing your input.
What hight do you have your light mounted at? My peak color is 50% peak violet 75% and peak intensity 60% I have my light around 3.1/2 inches. All my coral look happy and are growing. But I'm worried I might have it to low. But any higher the light spill in my living room is really intense. Water line to sand on my tank is 18 inches. I would put a par meter under it but its busted and I'm waiting on parts. Not sure when I'll get them since my par meter and replacement parts come from china.. just looking for some user opinions. I'm only running a signal a360x for now. This is on a 65g
I recently changed the lighting over to the AI Hydra 52HD but when I had the light, I had it at about 10" of the water. I used the default schedule and then adjusted up as needed. I did more blue/purple and kept the whites low.

You're welcome!
most of the PAR are spill and lost onto you wall. this fixture is 130 degree and need to be install 6 inch from water for a tank your size
Thanks for the suggestion. I've moved it down a bit since then.

I switched the 360x over to my hydra 52h for better coverage as my corals started to grow.
I noticed these fixtures are very weak in par especially for price not good
what schedule you use ?& what distance u have them from the tank?

Modern Reefer ..thx bro
