Morrowind's RNG are all actual d20 mechanics they gathered from tabletop games. A lot of older tabletops (not DnD though, iirc) saddled their spells with a casting DC that'd waste the spell and action you attempted to use if you failed.

Ah yes the trick I also use to grab the resources I need whenever I get expelled from the guild and scroll dupe(plus scroll duping can also permanent equip the enchants of the chameleon armour)
Words cannot describe how grateful I am that, when they were deciding what bits of Oblivion to reuse when making Skyrim, Bethesda decided to *not* include the uncomfortable zoom-in every time you start a conversation. That was one "feature" I was happy to do without.

guards are always 10 levels higher then you in oblivion so early game they will wreck you because the difference between lv1 and lv 11 is much bigger then the difference between lv 90 and lv 100.

Vegetable soup and venison stew are absolutely broken. Because you only need 1 stamina to power attack/shield bash and the stew gives you 1 stamina per second you can power attack/shield bash infinitly. Also for some reason the health and stamina regen from soup stacks. so if you eat 100 venison stew then you get 100 health and stamina regen per second for the next 720 seconds. Elsweyr fondue and most of the pastries added by hearthfire are also good.

My recipe for cheesing Oblivion: Enchant a shirt, pants, necklace, 2 rings, hat, gloves, and boots with Chameleon (using Grand Soul Gems) This should give you 120%
select magic scrolls in your inventory and drop an item to get as many items as there are scrolls to drop onto the ground, so you can easily obtain 5 grand filled soul gems. or in some cases 12e547 soul gems

@@Leviathis_Krade I usually don't go for perma invis as it just breaks the ai I actually usually just go for fortify stat enchantments on rings which I loop permeant enchant with about 10 unique rings per stat and then just loop protect and skills fortify enchants but if I am roleplaying then I only really use scroll duping right near the starts to quickly get a decent supply of coin and if I am really messing around then I just dupe a couple thousand of a large item and watch the game crash (if I remember correctly light is a spell (not sure if it's an enchant though but if it is) if I wanted to blind people I would probably just do something like if possible a light enchant permanently equipped combined with a ranged fire spell that centres on self and goes max range which can be explained as you asserting dominance and your so bright that you literally scorch the earth around you
or just reach level 25 in destruction and make the spell drain health 100 points, at level 75 in destruction you can cast it lasting three seconds. there are very few enemies resistant to this spell, those known are: "sheogorath, the gatekeeper, mearunes dagon, and important npcs the master level spell drain health 100 points for 5 seconds can kill the gate keeper.
THIS IS THE MASTERPIECE!!! By the nine, I miss Oblivion’s warm atmosphere. It has some (if not many) weird sh!t, but also it gives really good high fantasy vibes with music, lore, quests and immersive world. I remember how I moded the game, add some immersive animations like pipe smoking, eating, drinking etc, i was imagining a lot of things and role playing even if it wasn’t necessary like that one time during skingrad mad man quest when you have to watch townfolks, I dressed up as a worker and work in his farm...good memories)
DM: You have arrived at the shop of the wealthiest merchant in all the land. Player: Is he wearing a hat? DM: No. Player: I sell him my enchanted hat of constant effect damage health. DM: He equips the hat and a few minutes later drops dead. Player: I loot his entire shop.
With this character's death, the thread of prophecy is severed. Restore a saved game to restore the weave of fate, or persist in the doomed world you have created.
Don't forget the player would also be able to just press a multiple times to just slap a weapon on the enemy to do #X times of damage Y to the enemy unless ethereal where you need a Silver, or Enchanted weapon (oooh)

"Look! It is the Hero of Kvatch!" I love Oblivion's quests and story so much more than Skyrim's main plot and honestly. There were some that just sucked (looking at you mage's guild) but that game is really about the journey and I love it. I got flashbacks from this video and now if you excuse me I am off to join the Dark Brotherhood and attend a party.
Party loots dungeon Party finds: 5 books, 4 spoons, 1 fork, 7 plates, 12 different potions, 10 iron swords, 13 leather armors, 3 lesser soul gems, 11 bows, 5 arrows, 6 potatoes, 4 carrots, 20 shields, and 3 lockpicks (one of which was in a very hard locked container, long with the fork)
My personal trick with the persuasion minigame was using the thinnest slice on all 4, so I could hear the responses. That way I didn't have to spend time reading faces.
The face especially made me giggle. It was always unnerving to walk up to someone and after they stopped gibbering they make a creepy smile or frown at you.
*looks around to see no guards around and enters a building* *walks up two floors, grabs an item and puts it down* *waits a minute for a scowling guard to spawn in front of you to question your theft*
This is the video I enjoyed the most. I played TeS since Morrowind, even because or, thanks to, those strange stuffs with npcs, I had so much fun there.

Vegetable soup and venison stew are absolutely broken. Because you only need 1 stamina to power attack/shield bash and the stew gives you 1 stamina per second you can power attack/shield bash infinitly. Also for some reason the health and stamina regen from soup stacks. so if you eat 100 venison stew then you get 100 health and stamina regen per second for the next 720 seconds. Elsweyr fondue and most of the pastries added by hearthfire are also good.
Me: I put a paralysis potion on his person. One of the fortify restoration ones.
DM: He chugs it and is paralyzed for 25 hours.

My headcanon is that hedge-witches in Elder Scrolls combined alchemical skills with their cookery to make foodstuffs that are actually potions.

My recipe for cheesing Oblivion:
Enchant a shirt, pants, necklace, 2 rings, hat, gloves, and boots with Chameleon (using Grand Soul Gems) This should give you 120%
select magic scrolls in your inventory and drop an item to get as many items as there are scrolls to drop onto the ground, so you can easily obtain 5 grand filled soul gems. or in some cases 12e547 soul gems

@@Leviathis_Krade plus with a two stack of scrolls you can drop the unique enchanted armour piece dupe it equip one then scroll dupe drop the other dropping them both and now you have the permeant enchantment effect glitch and can never wear that exact piece of armour again

also to people who do wish to do this trick make sure that if it is armor that it is at 100 durability, or else you'll just drop the original while dequipping it.
@@Leviathis_Krade I usually don't go for perma invis as it just breaks the ai I actually usually just go for fortify stat enchantments on rings which I loop permeant enchant with about 10 unique rings per stat and then just loop protect and skills fortify enchants but if I am roleplaying then I only really use scroll duping right near the starts to quickly get a decent supply of coin and if I am really messing around then I just dupe a couple thousand of a large item and watch the game crash
(if I remember correctly light is a spell (not sure if it's an enchant though but if it is) if I wanted to blind people I would probably just do something like if possible a light enchant permanently equipped combined with a ranged fire spell that centres on self and goes max range which can be explained as you asserting dominance and your so bright that you literally scorch the earth around you
Hit them with an weapon enchanted with Drain/Damage Stamina, so that they are paralyzed on the ground once they reach -100 stamina.
or just reach level 25 in destruction and make the spell drain health 100 points, at level 75 in destruction you can cast it lasting three seconds.
there are very few enemies resistant to this spell, those known are: "sheogorath, the gatekeeper, mearunes dagon, and important npcs
the master level spell drain health 100 points for 5 seconds can kill the gate keeper.
Nobody in the world can describe oblivions persuasion system without sounding insane.

By the nine, I miss Oblivion’s warm atmosphere. It has some (if not many) weird sh!t, but also it gives really good high fantasy vibes with music, lore, quests and immersive world. I remember how I moded the game, add some immersive animations like pipe smoking, eating, drinking etc, i was imagining a lot of things and role playing even if it wasn’t necessary like that one time during skingrad mad man quest when you have to watch townfolks, I dressed up as a worker and work in his farm...good memories)
Loved that the character's name was Crantius Colto. Does he have the Lusty Argonian Maid in his inventory?

Imagine gaining XP just by walking across the map.
Exploration XP isn't uncommon in TTRPGs. You can use it in any edition of D&Ds and Pathfinder.
Don't forget the player would also be able to just press a multiple times to just slap a weapon on the enemy to do #X times of damage Y to the enemy unless ethereal where you need a Silver, or Enchanted weapon (oooh)

There were some that just sucked (looking at you mage's guild) but that game is really about the journey and I love it. I got flashbacks from this video and now if you excuse me I am off to join the Dark Brotherhood and attend a party.

My personal trick with the persuasion minigame was using the thinnest slice on all 4, so I could hear the responses. That way I didn't have to spend time reading faces.
