Love the negative one, especially when paired up with "be prepared for hell" as it serves as an intro. I'm gonna keep saying it. Prosthetics. You will LOVE the drum solo. Also, it has a very creepy tone to it. It was written about a guy who kidnapped, raped and I think killed a teenager then when taken to court said "Dammit man, I knew it was a mistake" which became the chorus of the song.
@@andromidius scissors is one of my absolute favourite songs by them cause I used to listen to that album on repeat constantly and that song just clicked with me so much
When they released this, I was so hooked to it I couldn't listen to anything else. Then The Devil In I released and it was the same deal. Those two singles represent a lot of what type of Slipknot fan you can fall under. There are the ones that prefer the unapologetically fast/heaviness of The Negative One (super reminiscent of very early Slipknot) and then those who prefer The melodic aspects of The Devil In I, which is more of an evolved/matured Slipknot sound - and both are fucking awesome. I'll always find myself listening to The Negative One just a bit more.

Slipknot's musicianship particularly with the drumming is seriously on point along Mick Thomson's guitar riffing on this one. Mick Thomson really utilizes that drop B tuning to the fullest
I'm so glad you said that about the meaning not being the first important thing. Sometimes, it's nonsense. It's mainly about rocking the fuck out. Then a lot of these artists actually put cool thoughts and deep shit in the lyrics and it's like, bonus.
Even if 5. The Gray Chapter is a very good album, I think that it would be more interesting if you do the rest of the songs from the self titled album. Good video by the way, I enjoyed it a lot. Agree on both points- Corey is a master lyricist and Slipknot is definitely neck-breaking music. On the subject of great lyricists I'd love for you to react to some Marilyn Manson, especially songs from Golden Age of Grotesque. My top picks would be This Is the New Shit, mOBSCENE, Vodevil or Use Your Fist and Not Your Mouth (though honestly you could pick almost any track, its crammed full of bangers).

But this is the best song on that whole album it has gotta be the heaviest for sure.
Lol I saw this for the first time a month or so ago, similar reaction as you
first single since Paul's death and Joey's departure as well.. new drummer Jay and Bassist VMan!!! you may consider this as the rebuilding slipknot mode...
It's more challenging and 100% fun when you encounter it for real for real
Slipknot - The Nameless [OFFICIAL VIDEO] - You gotta see it. More Chris Fehn`s backing vokal !!!
Negative One is one of their most badass songs, real old school Slipknot.. Wish Alex made a reaction to Slipknot - Pulse of the Maggots... After all it's an anthem of their fans
BRO!!!!! WHAT FREAKED ME OUT IS THE UNCOVERED WINDOW BEHIND YOU!! I am gonna go out on a limb here and say you are not a big horror movie fan lol. But love ya no matter man - keep these bangers comin'! 💗🌻 💀🖤
slipknot is amazing. Has been my starting point for listening to music as a kid. it would make me happy to see you explore .5
This was my go to pump up song before the gym when this came out
I love the GOAT scream Sample!!!
So much early Slipknot in one song, I can't take it. 😱
Definitely my favorite song from .5: The Gray Chapter!!🤘🤘🎸
Been following you for years man and I gotta say your headbanging has gotten allot better lmao
you have no goddamn idea how many times i rewind this shit just to watch you choke with your drink over and over again lmao
One of my fave slipknot songs but the Scooby doo evil deep sea diver ringing also freaks me out. I can’t listen with headphones 😂🙄
I still remember when this video came out gave me fucking goosebumps.. still does😈
checked it out because everyone makes a POPPY/Slipknot comparison. nor sure why, but this kicked ass! video was just as good.
Probably, my favourite song out of this album!
Omg, this song live is just fucking mental. Best crowd experience I've ever had. Definitely one of my top favorite bands. My other one is Blindspott so please can you react to S.U.I.T by them. Ima keep asking till you do btw lol. 🤘🤘
The first video reaction from you I've seen were you have gotten a vague look in your eye and just banged your head to the beat. My heart warms. You, my friend are a metal head and I have loved watching your journey. Thank you Alex
Hey! You should check out Before I Forget by Slipknot. When that video came out "nobody" knew what they look like in real life. So those glimpses of their identities kept you in the edge of your seat hoping to get to see more. Also the song is awesome and they won a Grammy with it.
