Honestly for work jeans, riggs by wrangler overtook Carhartt long ago. My Riggs Work Horse and Utility Jeans were far superior to my Carhartt Carpenter jeans in everyway. Its nice to see they updated but too little too late for me.

I switched up to ariats since i need fr for work. I work large construction and do everything from driving rig, operating heavy equipment , laboring down in the ground or flagging traffic. Then we also farm and ranch , and volunteer fire fighting along with being an environmental tech on the weekends. So ive also recently gotten into the cinch western and rodeo jeans and literally fell in love with them. Comfort and that great dark blue faded look.

Yep definitely a tier of clothes, from going out clothes, to work clothes, then lounging-at-home clothes. Then after would go to yard-work/hobby clothes like when working on my car. The last bottom rung they would become clothes to use for painting, that you would throw out after the job was done. There would also be sometimes when I would make patches out of the old jeans, to reinforce another pair.

As for the tiers of my clothes: I am a part time painter and my real last resting place for the work clothes are when they get paint spots on them. Then I only use them to paint stuff with. I never got the idea of "designer" clothes with paint spots and splashes on them, which is understandable, I guess.

I used to get their rugged flex, and they would last approx a year or more. Last pair was very different quality of material and blew out the inseam in about 6 months. Around that time Wranglestar made a video about how he will never buy Carhardtt again, mainly due to a huge decrease in quality. I then found out that Patagonia makes work pants. I have yet to really try them out, but I did buy a couple of pairs and they seem really well made. For now, just have been wearing some Levi's I got on sale. My job is more on the maintenance side now and involves a fair bit of desk work as well, so they seem to be holding up ok. Crotch gusset is a good idea though.

    • @z.w.7292
      @z.w.7292 Год назад

Patagonia “work” pants are trash. The whole iron forge line is made for people to do PR photos on some sustainable eco synthetic hydroponic salmon hatchery, not any actual physical activity. The fit is absurd, the rear pockets are designed by an alien or something, the waist or top block or whatever is shaped like a refrigerator. Only upside is the material feels nice on the skin.
And don’t listen to Cody. Rich tech guys LARPing as frontiersmen is so tiresome, even if they’ve been doing it for 10 years.

Thank you for great video. Somthing that annoys me about the Carhartt changes are the colors. People usually laugh when I say I like the dark brown color because its the color of dirt. Dirty is what they become when working and it just dosnt show as much in that dark brown . Probably a desision made by office people. Another is the dark blue. If a company wants its employees to ware a uniform, its probably navy blue polyester. To match in cotton Carhartt no longer makes the double front work pant in this color. This is the reason I was happy to have found your channel. Carhartts is no longer working for me

For me, I stick with Wrangler cowboy cut denim jeans. They're straight legged, not cowboy cut.
I do architectural sheet metal work in the Dallas, TX area. The 14oz denim is about as thick as I can go in the summer months, yet are warm enough is most colder months. If it gets really cold they're roomy enough to wear long johns with them.
I get these in raw denim. They're 25 bucks and damn tough. They fade beautifully.
And they've saved me from stitches more than one time
I've never thought of venturing out with other jeans.

20 Years in construction Lets face it, clothes don't last. I only wore Rustlers. $12 at Walmart. Hard to beat and they kinda looks good on me too if I can say so myself. For work purposes do I buy a size bigger than I normally wear. Carthartt make a damn good product but their price is just too much for my taste. Having said that ,I do have a pair of Carthartt bibs that will outlast me.

I've worn the Wrangler five-star jeans and authentics and they're great for working in at the price as well.

I did my best to show the slimmer leg of the new one, but maybe a "fit shot" would have been better.

Anyone know where to get decent Carharrt workwear in the UK?

My maternal side grandfather worked for the railroad, Carhartt was his work wear, the value of the brand sold me. B01 and K87 were my favorites until the company stole from me, now I am just disappointed completely in the brand!

Not a fan. Most likely won't be as reliable, why get rid of the leather patch. They shouldn't be going for fashion. Maybe I'm wrong, we'll see. Thanks for the video, keep up the good work

They went way up on the price and sounds like down on quality.

I gave up on Carhartt long ago. I used to be devoted to their long sleeve henleys. The sizing on them became wildly inconsistent, depending on what country they were made in. I was wearing anywhere from a small to a large. This is unacceptable, especially when shopping online.

That is stock footage from a website, not me. It’s common practice to use stock footage to keep the visuals diverse and interesting.
